It's there because back in the days of old school le mans road racers where the cars still had keys. They put it that side so you can do your seatbelt with your opposite hand and start the engine at the same time. They've kept the "key" thing on that side for that gimmick

How many times I gotta tell you boy, it's for the track, because seconds are obviously more important than minutes in lap time (at least you'd hope so). And yes, it's kind of a silly gimmick to suggest that CayenneTurbo owners are measuring their lap times down to the second lol.. but regardless that's why it exists.

The only thing keeping me from hating the Cayenne. Or the Macan. Or the Panamera. Although they really killed the exclusivity of seeing a Porsche on the road.
Doug, this specific Cayenne Turbo did have the 360 degree camera, the option is called ParkAssist (front and rear) incl. Surround View. Circle Porsche should have taught you how to use it
Assuming this works like most other cars' BCM's, the 8 keys means you can have up to 8 keys paired to the car at a time, not the total that can ever be paired to the car.
The thing about the 8 keys means that you can only have 8 keys programmed to the vehicle at a time. This is something porsche adopted from audi. Audi vehicles save a diver profile for each key so when you unlock the car with a certain key the car will adjust to the settings associated with that key. It's good for cars with multiple drivers so each person doesn't have to constantly be adjusting stuff, the car does it for you. A lost key can be deleted, you're not limited to 8 keys total, just 8 keys at a time.
@@LickingBugattis I agree if you are referring to the first comment, they don't drop that much unless it's a base with lots of miles in 2-3 years. If you see what I said, I state, depending on miles.
7:00 you clearly don't know much about Porsche; the second clock is part of the Sports Chrono Package, the second clock goes to zero and times your 0-60 or laps etc!!!!!
Have had my 2019 Cayenne Turbo for a month now. The center console does show a bit of dust after 2 weeks on the road but no fingerprints. Everything works so very well and the exhaust, wow!, The OMG button in the middle of the steering wheel mode selector switch is amazing, just make sure you have plenty of open road in front of you when you push it.
Doug showed the Park Assist didn’t light up on the center console because it wasn’t an option, but then shows the window sticker and the first option on the top right says ParkAssist.
7:03 ...Doug, it's the sport chrono package, this is why the clock is showing only the seconds. it is meant to give you the idea of a fast car as you can time the 0-100 / 0-200 / 0-300 sprints
I'm really enjoying watching your Videos Doug! I like the presentation style and informative approach. Love the European car reviews the best! great work and looking forward to the next videos
As a recent owner of a Cayenne, I continue to learn new and interesting quirks that aren't always obvious. One of which is Cayenne's do indeed offer that slick navigation writing tool. It's located in the bottom left corner of the screen and looks like handwriting. Just to the left of that, is a keyboard icon allowing you to toggle between the two styles.
Bratislava - Audi Q7 is btw also built in Bratislava as well as almost all VW production and soon also Jaguar / Land Rover and many many other brands. Slovakia is an EU country, EU legislation applies here and the quality standards and quality control are both very very high but wages are on the lower end of the EU, that’s why so many car manufacturers build cars in Slovakia. I don’t think this car would be build better in Germany. With that being said I give no credit to Bratislava, this thing was designed and engineered in Germany and that’s what actually matters.
what D B said, the build quality is just better when you let actual europeans build something and Slovakia is, unfortunately, the cheapest country to have something manufactured well
The point is, though, that if Porsche wants to save a few €€€ by building their cars in countries where they pay cheaper wages, it should be reflected on the prices of said vehicles. And nothing that comes out of Porsche (or indeed ANY other company of VAG) has gone down in price in the past few years; if anything, their ripoff from VAG is worse now than it was 5 years ago.
no you are wrong, its 8 keys max if you've somehow managed to lose all 8 keys during the life of the vehicle then prepared to be buttraped by porsche for a new DME
Doug your scoring should include a score in relation to the manufacturer warranty and customer service. I think they're key elements to include for a full review of any vehicle that everyone would like to know prior to buying?!

I noticed that there is a huge sunroof inside the car, but Doug didn't show it off or even mention it? I thought something like that would be noteworthy enough to at least be mentioned.
He did not find the button to open it :)
AERO BLKHWK32 it’s a standard feature on all luxury SUV’s now...
@ThisCreatedAccount
How am I supposed to know whether it is a moonroof or a sunroof if he never showed it to us? 🤔
His reviews are getting shittier and shittier. The test drive part is still mainly his huge FACE.
Not showing the sunroof is a big fail.
@ThisCreatedAccount Wrong. Moonroof does not open. It's called a panoramic sunroof.
Doug is the kind of guy that checks the math on the gas pump after he fills up.
Daily reminder that Porsche sells SUVs so they can afford developing 911s and other sport cars.
Keksi the Labrador damn good SUV’s at that
Help afford only a little bit really. The 911 sells like hot cakes.
The only thing keeping me from hating the Cayenne. Or the Macan. Or the Panamera. Although they really killed the exclusivity of seeing a Porsche on the road.
This is true.
Wait, they *DEVELOP* the 911? You're implying that it CHANGES??

Doug, this specific Cayenne Turbo did have the 360 degree camera, the option is called ParkAssist (front and rear) incl. Surround View. Circle Porsche should have taught you how to use it
It doesn’t have the system where you can virtually view your car in 3D and spin it 360 degrees, that’s what he’s talking about.
Assuming this works like most other cars' BCM's, the 8 keys means you can have up to 8 keys paired to the car at a time, not the total that can ever be paired to the car.
I thought that was kinda obvious too, but as usual Doug gets the wrong end of the stick. He's not very intelligent, sometimes.
Zzyzx Wolfe - We don’t have enough information to know which interpretation is correct.
I'm from Bratislava and I was offended
No way, I'm also from Bratislava. Do you assemble Cayenne Turbos?
I'd be offended as well if the most non-Porsche of all Porsches was manufactured in my home town.
You guys serve Brats in Lava? Would like to try one sounds yummy!
So are you Slav or Slov
Ulrik the kind of guy to get offended.
Quirks and features of the New BMW A90 Supra.
Can’t wait to buy this for 30 K in two years
More like 68 K for a $180,000 Turbo Cayenne depending on miles. Cause the maintenance and repair after 3 years will rob you dry.
Thats a stretch
@@LickingBugattis I agree if you are referring to the first comment, they don't drop that much unless it's a base with lots of miles in 2-3 years. If you see what I said, I state, depending on miles.
Midnight GTR u wont buy shit

7:00 you clearly don't know much about Porsche; the second clock is part of the Sports Chrono Package, the second clock goes to zero and times your 0-60 or laps etc!!!!!

@@timothyandrewnielsen how did you even end up in a conversation about that regard?
Have had my 2019 Cayenne Turbo for a month now. The center console does show a bit of dust after 2 weeks on the road but no fingerprints. Everything works so very well and the exhaust, wow!, The OMG button in the middle of the steering wheel mode selector switch is amazing, just make sure you have plenty of open road in front of you when you push it.
t5grrr great car
*I detect a BMW Supra review packed full of quirks and features coming in the near future.*
Doug: *jokes about how they charge for transparent windows*
Porsche: *actually charges $840 for “Clear Taillights”*
🤣

ASMR shit
Wtf
Doug showed the Park Assist didn’t light up on the center console because it wasn’t an option, but then shows the window sticker and the first option on the top right says ParkAssist.
You’re going to do a video on the m2 competition? Awesome!
7:03 ...Doug, it's the sport chrono package, this is why the clock is showing only the seconds. it is meant to give you the idea of a fast car as you can time the 0-100 / 0-200 / 0-300 sprints
The fence joke was truly hilarious!
Agreed 👍
“Oh what’s that for?”
“Oh nothing it’s just for my fence”
I died laughing.
I'm really enjoying watching your Videos Doug! I like the presentation style and informative approach. Love the European car reviews the best! great work and looking forward to the next videos
Doug is the type of guy to call a Porsche cheap
Hey Doug, the cayenne is amazing but look from 2003-2019 the transformation is crazy. The car is literally getting smaller
Um no... The Macan is the same size as the first gen Cayenne
I worked in a porsche factory in Germany and most of the line workers are Turkish.
what D B said, the build quality is just better when you let actual europeans build something and Slovakia is, unfortunately, the cheapest country to have something manufactured well
The point is, though, that if Porsche wants to save a few €€€ by building their cars in countries where they pay cheaper wages, it should be reflected on the prices of said vehicles. And nothing that comes out of Porsche (or indeed ANY other company of VAG) has gone down in price in the past few years; if anything, their ripoff from VAG is worse now than it was 5 years ago.
@@Cibohos Why unfortunately?
@@konsextus But it is cheaper then it would have been (-_-)

Cool Sporty SUV! I love your videos Doug.
Think. It probably means 8 keys AT A TIME. Not 8 keys max. They can definitely clear the system from the other keys.
Yeah, like how can this Doug character miss these simple points?
@@djsomeguy he AINT the brightest guy around
no you are wrong, its 8 keys max if you've somehow managed to lose all 8 keys during the life of the vehicle then prepared to be buttraped by porsche for a new DME
Yup John wrong with bmw it’s 7 or 8 new keys max, not just at once
@@joe3nips ok thanks for explaining 👍
Doug your scoring should include a score in relation to the manufacturer warranty and customer service. I think they're key elements to include for a full review of any vehicle that everyone would like to know prior to buying?!
