He didn't said he was eating that much on clean food. He said at the beggining he was only trying to achieve the daily amount of calories, obviously not clean. THIS GUY! is the luckiest guy in the world. He gets to do what he loves, and his work makes him eat whatever he wants to eat. What more can a guy ask for?
swimmers train like hell and swim like fishes everyday, just to cut milliseconds off their own records. Especially Olympians, they train for 4 years to either make histories or become one, there’s no in-between. Yes they have coaches and professional nutritionist to help designing their routine and meals. But can you imagine eating those stuffs everyday? The stresses they are bearing are just too much to imagine for recreational swimmers like us.
What is this dude’s deal? I’ve heard him in videos say that the stories about him eating 10k calories weren’t true that they were exaggerated, then I see him saying he did eat the much.
Per my research on Olympian Johnny Weissmuller, I recommend 1 pound of bacon and 1 dozen eggs daily (or per meal) for Olympic Gold Medal Swimmers. Weissmuller also ate a loaf of bread. I recommend whole grain millet and buckwheat groats boiled and served with real dairy butter and sweetened with raisins and/or honey and sprinkled with nuts/seeds. For potassium and magnesium drink coconut water and orange juice, and/or eat a fresh avocado. Drink a smoothie with kale and/or spinach powder and tart cherry concentrate and honey and frozen bananas with dry whole milk powder or a vegetable protein powder. Swiss cheese and Walnuts/Pecans/Pumpkin Seeds are also excellent. What you don't want to eat is a low fat and low protein diet with large amounts of complex carbs ( Been there, done that. My swimming performance crashed on that kind of diet). I don't swim anymore but I can still chow down like I used to when training. My current daily diet is 1.5 pounds of pork sausage and or 80/20 turkey or beef burger, 1 pound of swiss cheese, 1 pound of shelled nuts, plus fruits and veges and grains and extra virgin olive oil.
I remember a story that my uncle told me, where my cousin would bring her friend over who was a swimmer, and the first thing she would do was go to the kitchen and start shoveling food into her mouth.
Yea I remember coming from swim practice and just eat like 2 meals in 30 mins, being a swimmer is really hard but many people respect it because many aren’t born with the talent.
The problems with eating red meat (for me at least): -It's too brutal to eat it in the morning. -In the morning, we can't eat red meat before a morning practice because it's too hard to digest. -in the afternoon it's also too hard to digest and it'll make us feel really bad in the afternoon practice. -in the evening it's too hard to digest so it's not really good to eat it before sleeping.
Elite athletes and bodybuilders will often speak negatively of diet and food intake. Jay cutler, former mr. Olympia said he HAS no favorite food. When you eat to the point where you're uncomfortable, the dynamic changes. However, for most of us we starve ourselves and STILL have to struggle to button our pants :)
I've also read that because the pool temperature is 20deg below body temperature, swimmers burn a lot of calories just keeping their internal organs warm from the heat dissipation.
@@treeboyx this is actually a good explanation. There’s no way they’re burning that huge an amount of additional calories through the actual action of swimming. But when you consider even at rest their metabolic rate is elevated to maintain temperature it seems a lot more possible.
