My wife and I spent 2 weeks in Bath for our anniversary April 2022. When it was time to fly home to the US I tested positive for Covid (no symptoms, no cough) and I had to stay an additional week before my test was clear. Not knowing the area I looked for a town to stay where hotel rates were affordable. I found Stratford Upon Avon. By then the UK government NHS rules said you only had to quarantine if you were symptomatic. I was really glad I stumbled upon this town as it was a very pleasant place to stay. Also it was fairly near Warwick Castle, a great place to visit.

Hi Simon and Will. So glad you’re back in the UK! It was great learning about the man himself, (Sir?) William Shakespeare and the beautiful town of Stratford Upon Avon. The architecture/rooflines of some of these houses and buildings were
nothing short of amazing. To be honest, so was that Hobson’s Giant Scone. 😂😋 I wanted that! I love that the UK is focused on the preservation of its history and that you both share this love and appreciation of these wonderful places with us. Enjoy next weekend off! Looking forward to the following Saturday. Take care til then. ❤🇨🇦🇬🇧

What a jam-packed tour! This was such a treat for me! On our trip to the UK many years ago, my husband and I stopped in on our way back to my Father's cousin's home in Berkshire, after a long day out at Warwick Castle. It was almost dark and raining, and the older folks were too tired to get out of the car by the time we arrived in Stratford, so we ran from the car park to see Shakespeare's home from under dripping umbrellas. This sunny day visit was like a dream. I love how so many original furnishings (or at least period appropriate items) have been set up so visitors can more easily imagine what life was like during the times. Here in San Diego we have a quite famous Old Globe Theater. The original replica was built in 1937 as part of the California Pacific Expo, but sadly was lost to an arson fire in 1978. It was rebuilt and the complex expanded to include an outdoor stage. A 1950s styled "Merry Wives of Windsor" is a current offering. Isn't is amazing how one man could influence the world for centuries? Great job, guys! :)

As always, another informative, picturesque view of a wonderful historic town. Was there in 1979 but didn’t see much. Now I need to revisit. Thanks for posting. Cheers

Noted we have them on the list, not sure when we will get to them. We do have a bit of Southampton on our Jane Austen life video.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I was there when I was 21. Looking back 28-29 years later, its wonderful to see it with different eyes and more patience. Now I remember what I did and didn't see.

We have Alaska on our list and probably for a cruise. Certainly like to know more about the gold rush, we touched on it in Yukon but would like to find out more. Which operator did you sail with?

I absolutely loved this! You gave us information I did not know. The tour was so extensive. I consider my husband a Shakespeare aficionado, knowing the words to several sonnets as well as being able to quote several words from his plays. (his master's degree is in English Literature) I have seen videos before and recently read " Hamnet" which was well done. Your tour was the most complete I have ever seen. Thank you so very much.

Thank you for the kind message, so pleased you have enjoyed the tour. It was a huge task to make the video and capture as much of the history as possible. It turned out well from the comments.
