(
Excellent and beautiful work, greetings from Chile)
Muchas gracias!!!! Greetings from Greece!!!
Great idea. Nicely made. Thanks.
Thanks again! 😊👍
Nice knife. But didn't see if you tempered it. 400f - 200c in a oven. Otherwise it will be to brittle... thanks for sharing. Good job with a grinder.
You are right. I didn't tampered it... I was experimenting to see if I can do it without using a forge...
I decided that I prefer the traditional forge and tampering method!
Nice
🙂
like it a lot
But I'm the type of guy that likes big knifes. Got my own collection.
You are the first person that I see sharpening a knife the same way that I do. And it work great.
Thank you very much for your comments!! Glad you liked it! I tried to make this knife from a file without using a forge... Although it came out nice I prefer the old fashioned way of forging! 🔥🔥😊👍
I agree, but I don't have a forge yet
Really nice job. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
Thank you very much for your comments!!!
No tempering of the steel after the grind?
Awesome, will give this a try tomorrow,
Thank you very much!!
It's the easiest way to make a knife if without a forge!
Superbe travail .
Merci beaucoup!!!!
Beautiful, I would have added some brass pins in the handle.. but very nice knife
Thank you very much!!! I tried to add some brass pins but....it was impossible to drill the holes because I did not use a forge to soften the metal. Imagine that I used a cobaltium drill and still it wouldn't penetrate!
Rust is Gold ah yes that is a good point .. no forge .. looks amazing regardless
@@lazer8384 thanks!
Very well done
Thank you very much!!!
Great job! Been wanting to try a file knife. Got plenty of time nowadays, i think i will !!
Thank you very much for your comments! Yes! You should try it! We all have plenty of time now with this crazy situation... Unfortunately we are running low on materials and supplies needed for the DIY projects...
The whole country is in lockdown...
@@RustisGold yes, I've saved up numerous old rusty files for that reason. You made it look so easy. I'm doing it. Be safe, and keep the good videos coming, thank you!
👍👍👍
Sweet 👍🏻 👍🏻
Thank you very much!!!
nice knife
Thank you!!!
good knife
Thank you!!
Thank you!!
Really should have pinned those scales. Would have liked to see a sharpness test as well. All in all great job with a grinder.
Thank you very much for your comments! I tried to put pins on the handle but since I didn't use a forge in order to treat the blade it was impossible to make the holes... I even tried using cobaltium drill bits with no success. Next knife I am using a forge! 😊👍
@@RustisGold I totally get it, ive used a blow torch to soften steel in the past. I know its not a new idea but a 2nd set of eyes never hurts. Keep up the vids
😊👍👍👍
@John Savage this is very nice to hear!! 👍👍👍
@@sj6404 honestly I don't know... However, it's much easier to work on a blade after using a forge! I was just experimenting!
ever notice there are no videos of making a knife into a file ?
😄😄😄👍👍👍
What are you using to cut and angle the blade?
I used a cutting disc and then a grinding wheel to angle the blade.
