As a plumber who is also sitting on the toilet, I am thoroughly entertained and impressed. However brownies are not the same consistently of normal shit.
To answer your question, they do make water closets that have a 3" trap. Pressure assist water closets are over rated. Way too over ingeneered and very finicky. Toto makes the best water closets hands down. Pricy for sure but they can handle all the crap you can throw at it. Your friendly plumber.
I concur with the Toto endorsement he makes; I installed a Toto 1 gallon and it is incredible. For example, I flushed probably 2 quarts of old cherry pie filling down the toilet and my Toto flushed it ALL with one flush!
Toto is an excellent manufacturer of thrones . Gerber does good for basic but dang reliable. American standard ... I mixed about . The champion 4 toilets do flush well but parts are hard to come by and very pricy .
At around 6:40 you can see the tiny channel at the top of the exit trap. What's the name of this finger sized tube and what's the purpose and what does it do? How can it be open on both ends and not let sewer gases out. Do you think it's closed on the upper end? I see water running into it or out of it but when they have the clog part later I can see little air bubbles go up into it and disappear so I wonder where they go?
@@1weirddoe571 to me that seems to possibly be part of a casting or molding process. Maybe it's the way they pick them up and move them around as they bake them in the ovens. Not sure why that's there. I say that because in the tank there is no serviceable part for that feature. Even after Plumbing for 24 years I will have to go to my supply house and show them what you found out. I'll repost if I get any new information. Nice catch. And remember American Standard... Made in Mexico.
@@77Infidel, great thanks. I was just pump irrigating mine to unclog the rim holes and I don't want my vinegar to go down this hole and be wasted. I cannot imagine where the little air bubbles go because that would let sewer gases into and out the rim holes. I'm confused.
You guys single-handedly created something that I remember as a little kid at the museum of science industry in Chicago the "half caught of a functional toilet" odd I still remember it (maybe that's why I like doing plumbing work lol) but still cool as all hell to see👍
This is quality content. Someone needs to make a high performance model, the toilet in my upstairs bathroom is about useless when it comes to dropping bombs
What a cool experiment! I was always wondering about this because of the toilet that I saw in the grandparents house exhibit at the children’s museum in Boston, Massachusetts back in the 1980s. Half of it was cut away to make part of the house look like it was under construction Or show the unseen parts of house construction. After seeing that, I always wondered if half a toilet could be flushed.
This is one of the best videos you guys have ever made. So interesting to see what actually happens inside a clogged toilet. Also it was hilarious when you guy’s cut a plunger in half to use on your half toilet haha
My prediction: In couple months, you start to receive photos and videos from classrooms, where this is used as teaching material for plumbing students.. Teachers do not have such resources and/or are not interested enough to produce stuff like this themselves.
The reason the tube in the toilet gose up is cause the water level will rise and fill the tube and idk pressure and stuff like that so the tube gose up so there’s a gap of air also that’s how rats can come in ur toilet they swim and then they take a breather at thag gap of ur toilet after couple minutes of holding breathe
5:55 I'm no plumber, but having a larger down pipe makes sense to me. If I get a clog in my toilet, I'd know that it'd be located within short snake distance reach within the toilet, and not "who knows how far down the pipe?" distance
Man, I've been following you guys for quite a while and I really enjoy your stuff, especially when Mitchell runs the licking test. I gotta say, though, this is one of the funniest and most educative videos of all time. You guys rock!!!!
The best way to unclog a toilet(well at least it always worked first try for my whole life) is to take a bucket, fill it with water and dump it quickly in the toilet. i never had that trick fail.
I wonder, if those swirl holes at the top should be pointing the other direction depending on the part of the world you're in?! Since water swirls the opposite way on the other side of the world.
The half plunger was where I lost it.
IS THIS LOSS
Same here... first time I've laughed aloud today despite watching many things meant to be funny.
I was still busy losing it over the squished brownie. I needed this laugh badly.
When they cut in half I laughed because I thought they were doing it for "the channel" and then realized, oh yeah it IS half a toilet. AND IT WORKED
Lol
