Just to note it doesn't mean the planes will be scrapped and broken up, they'll be sold to an airline somewhere in the world where it makes sense to use them. Would be insane to scrap them.

They won't be sold by Astana because they don't own them. They're leased from Azorra Aviation who will simply take them back. What they do with them is up to them but it's more than likely that they'll look for another customer to lease them to.

A more sensible option for Air Astana would be to include the A220 in their fleet as a more direct replacement to the E-190 E2. If they had already decided on the A320 to do the job, then all is well. The A220 would be far more efficient from a cost perspective for those light loads since they won't have to worry about selling more than 1/2 of the seats on the A320 to make a profit as they would with selling 1/2 the seats on the A220. Otherwise, that is a really cool flight you enjoyed and sad to see that those amazing birds are getting kicked out of the fleet so soon.

Hi Noel, hope you and your family are safe and well. Your videos are incredibly well produced and though out. Well I guess as they say, EMBRAER does stand for Every Mechanical Breakdown Requires An Electrical Rectification 🤣. The PW1900G is a geared turbo fan, hence the G at the end of the model number. This is why they make a peculiar "whale sound" during spool up. Being a geared wide core fan blade, and the tips not exceeding the speed of sound ( only spinning at 240 m/s ) , the ECU has a different spool up regime. There is slightly more lag, whilst hearing the gas generator accelerate first. Thermodynamics is rather complicated though its best put down to the sound of the air flowing through the intake stator blades as they change AOA (angle of attack), thus not inducing a compressor stall and the fan blades having a lower mach crit number. This is also the same with the 320 NEO and 73 MAX, having the LEAP engine.

The whale sound is caused by harmonic resonance within the combustor portion of the gas turbine. Pratt plans to address this issue with a revised combustor design in the GTF Advantage package, which is the next planned revision of the engine.

indeed so. Airlink has 26 of the -190's currently and adding more. Also recently got a couple of -195's that formerly flew for Belavia(two are in still a hybrid livery of their former operator)

Yes. And the aircraft flying to St Helena have their software especially programmed for the unique conditions at the St Helena airport.

Hi Noel, Always Nice to watch your new videos. I even re-watch a lot. If you try business at SAS A350-900 from LAX (would be so cool to see) you can fly this and more Embraer with SAS since they bought 6 (or) 8 from FlyBe. They are painted in Norwich in SAS livery. Just a few left until they all are in the air. They have premium economy in the front and if you fly from Stockholm to London (or longer than this distance) you Will receive a breakfast to dinner depending on when you Take the flights. I have not yet flewn this one, but I cant cant wait for it. Have a great new week over there, Greetings to your family, from a snowy northern Sweden🙂👋

Uzbekistan airways recently got some brand new LET L-410 s . I think those were used for domestic flights. Try it if you got a chance.( that's a very rare thing)

Now that was a pleasant suprize Noel.
It's such a shame there is not an actual business class cabin with business class seating as everything else fits the bill
    Nice cabin crew.
    The food looked appertising
    Im very impressed.
Again for a disabled large guy unfortunately I just could not fit into the presant cabin.

I have had the pleasure of flying the Air Astana E-195 E2 from Astana to Öskemen, and thought it was a lovely aircraft -- quite comfortable and very quiet (also just a beautiful-looking regional jet) . I also must say that Air Astana has some of the best service I have ever experienced on an airplane, their flight crews are absolutely fantastic, their food is better than most other flights I've taken, and the extra amenities they provide such as quality in-flight entertainment, cushions, travel cleaning products, etc. are a great touch.
Now that I know they are being retired, I am very happy to have had the opportunity to fly such a nice plane with such a quality airline. Although they have admittedly had issues with the E2 jets, I think the biggest reason they are retiring them is to streamline their fleet and improve fleet commonality. For what they are trying to achieve, the E2 does seem superfluous. I hope these modern jets will go to another airline that needs the type so they can continue serving passengers for years to come, because I really am a big fan of how they fly and the 2 abreast seating configuration.

What a great airline and the food looks good too . Nice trip report btw, It might make more sense for them to use A 220's given their long range and low seat mile costs.

I’m a vegetarian, so I’d be intrigued to know whether my dietary preferences would be catered for with some of these lesser known airlines. I can’t get enough of your videos Noel! 👌🏻

Most airlines allow you to specially order a vegetarian meal ahead of time at no cost. If a meal option is offered with your ticket.

I've never flown on an E-2, but I'm not surprised you got the same service on this flight as you would on an A320. In the US, regional jets are flown on behalf of the main carrier by regional airlines. For example, you would see an American Airlines flight number on your boarding pass, but the plane and crew are from Republic Airways, therefor you get Republic Airways service on board instead of American. Air Astana, I presume, operates their E-190E2s themselves, therefor you get the same service as on their A320s. And if they plan on using A320s on their E-190E2 routes in the future, that makes perfect sense.
