@@Rickmakes No, it's because at 2:19 you already broke off one of the pins on the plastic that holds the front part of the remote together like a total moron. Might as well use a sledgehammer next time.
Oh don't be scared I opened up mine since it had a lot of corrosion it was like 10 years I didn't use it and after some good isopropyl alcohol it works pretty well again!
I have been trying to open this for about an hour now and i cant pry it open, i have gotten the screws open and i have jammed a flat head screwdriver in there a ton and nothing happens, do you know whats happening
Came in handy when I got all the screws out but the front was still holding together. Thought I should just look this up before force pulling it apart and saw that it just needed a gentle pry from a plastic tool.
Simple and to the point, nice! Sadly isn't going to be helpful for me, got a 3rd party LEGO Wiimote, which looks cool, but functions terribly, and was hoping to swap internals. It looks like some of the buttons are in different spots though, so RIP that idea.
@@Tony-bl3co I have seen a trick where you place a rubber band between the screwdriver and screw to give it more grip. (www.cnet.com/how-to/remove-a-stripped-screw-in-seconds-with-this-office-supply/) You would need to press in hard but be careful you don't slip and stab yourself. If that doesn't work, you could try drilling out the screw but that can be difficult on something like that. If you were to get it open, then you would have to use something else to hold it together. It could be something like electrical tape (which you could remove) or glue (which would be permanent).
Gente les aviso que con ese método se rompe al menos un clip, en este caso se rompió el del lado opuesto al que está cerca de botón de encendido y apagado
I have a question, what type of screwdriver did you use?
I use this triwing screwdriver I bought on Amazon. amzn.to/2CARfsD (affiliate link).
I recommend try wing Y1.5 or Y2.5
I used wing Y2.3. Works perfectly
@@svendesceI am using Y2.0 but screws won't budge.
Tiny screws on a surface full of giant holes. This gave me anxiety.
Yeah. I usually have those covered in my current videos.
Only if its meat
I was gonna comment on the same thing...
Snowflake comment lol
The thing I love about old videos is that the mic always picks up the sound of the air
Ha! I filter that out now.
Nintendo always make it a pain in the ass to open their crap. 😂
You are a LIFESAVER even all these years later. THANK YOU!
Great video! I needed to disassemble a wiimote and found this video. It's nice to see that this channel is still active!
I've been posting videos everyday since Dec 14th, 2018. If my math is correct, I'm at 123 videos in a row.
Thanks, because of you I was able to open up my Wii controller quickly without breaking it!
Great to hear!
This was a huge help in cleaning an old wiimote I got at a yard sale thx
Glad to hear!
Maybe people who disliked the video expected a full teardown. I liked it, thanks!
Thank you! It is just the nature of RUclips. It doesn't bother me. If you post a video of a puppy getting saved from a fire, someone will dislike it.
Puppies should've burned.

@@Terkzorr Unfortunately, I don't have a sledgehammer. :(

Wow. A how to without a bunch of stupid talk or obnoxious background music. What a concept. Thanks. Subscribed.
Thank you I was scared of breaking any clips or tabs
same, and I'm so glad to have found a concise video
This is the first time seeing a Wii Remote disassembled and I’m scared

Appreciated...Saved me breaking it
LOL
Love how calm and relaxed you work. Big thumbs up.
I try not to get frustrated. That tends to make things more difficult. Glad you enjoyed!
I am having trouble Prying the top off. Any tips?
Is it possible to swap the board from a 3rd party wii mote?
Thanks, this video solved my problem. 😊 (opened, cleaned and closed the remote .)
Thank god for this video my old wii remotes were so unclean it was giving me the ick
Nice place for disassembly.
Awesome video! Thank you!
Thank you! Helped open the wiimote, didn't help with the explosion of buttons that went all over. HAHA.

That's a bummer. That would have been nice to but the higher quality guts into a third party wiimote.
tanks this really helped
How do you get the board out?
I think you can just pull it out. I can't remember as I made this video 5 years ago. Are you having trouble getting it out?
Nope it was just a bit stiff I ended up just using a pick
What is the size of your driver?
I don't know how they classify these so I took a measurement of the shaft. It was 3mm.
I've been seeing these measured in mm on Amazon so that must be right
My wiiremote is faulty so i got so mad i wanted to dissasembly it then destroy the internal components then get it assembled again
Yes
Thanks mine had battery corrosion.
Thank you .
Mine won't unscrew what do I do
Did the screw strip out or is it just tight?
@@Rickmakes I think it stripped

i think you missed a step there was no rabbid in there
Thx man!

It's been a while since I played.

Ok.. am I the only one who watched this to see if/when the screws fell through the holes in the bench?
🤣 It happened plenty of times before I covered it with a solid panel.
Thanks mate, really useful video
Maybe because they dont have the right tools?
Thanx!
My wiimote is made by rock candy
I don't have any of those. It might come apart easier than the genuine wiimote.
Is it good?
You monster
why so many dislikes?
I don't know. I can't really complain because likes and dislikes both help the ranking of the video.
Stupid people doing stupid things
@Ezekiele Hurley or because of the weird and awkward grunts
Очень полезно!
