Feels like a great mix between Come Clarity and their albums like battlegrounds which I wasn't a huge fan of, It's great to hear some of his old growls and screams again!

Unfortunately, as a long time fan of IF while also seeing them live 3 times, Anders can't sing clean vocals. He is one of the best screamers ever but he just can't sing cleans. In this music video cleans are basically autotune.
During live performance it is always back up track that does cleans while he does clean screams or screams so it sounds good.
This is one of the reasons they lost lots of fans with new direction cause we all know he really can't sing cleans.
Great song nonetheless.
His non-clean vocal style is absolute torture on the vocal cords. Its amazing he's even able to speak after 25 years of doing it, and yeah, its pretty obvious autotune is being used. But it still sounds cool.
Actually, the drums are pretty obviously gridded in this recording too. Seems like just about every metal band anymore makes everything impossibly perfect sounding in the studio.
I gotta say man, I disagree. When I saw them supporting parkway drive his voice was brilliant. Even during the high notes in save me. Just my experience anyway.

Good singing voice, good music. Screams not my favorite.
9/10 is a VERY generous rating imo. The song has catchy chorus and great instruments, but got boring pretty fast while listening through the whole album for a couple of days. My biggest complaint about the new record was that there's way too much singing, especially knowing that he can't pull any of it live, yet the only songs on this album that I didn't stop listening to are Pure Light Of Mind (soft cooldown song with nice riffs) and In The Dark (probably the best song on the album imo) which have alot of cleans 😅 Oh and The Great Deceiver is also very nice and could easily be on A Sense Of Purpose, cause it fits there pretty well. Overall I got over Foregone pretty fast and I went back to listening to older stuff. My rating for this record at this time would be B, which isn't bad. It's still light years ahead of I, The Mask, SOAPF, Siren Charms and Battles.
Yeah it's probably closer to a 7
7/10 seems more fair, but still lil bit too high for me. If I'd have to compare it to zombie inc that you reacted to, this will probably go down to like 5 😅 The singing here is just too corny for my taste. Instrumental part is great tho.
