”You think you had a choice but there’s no other way” is what he sings :D
These guys are grandfather's of melodic death metal. Insane talent
and metalcore
@@jette24 Name one metalcore in flames song xd
@@teebahh1z127 ruclips.net/video/8AEJow44_mQ/видео.html that is 9/10 metalcore(heavy riffs/hardcore punk/screaming/big sining chorus) and 1/10 death metal...btw they literally made the genre and are credited EVERYWHERE for it
@@teebahh1z127 While they are not the direct grandfathers of metalcore, they are basically the stepfather who was more of a fathr figure than the actual father. Take Dead By April, for example. Their Sweden's biggest metalcore band and their biggest influence is In Flames.
@@teebahh1z127 Göteborg melo-death scene pretty much is the father of metalcore which came after. Muricans aped the thing and it gave birth to some decent bands which then got diluted to the levels of shit as americans tend to do.
I'm almost 32, and Anders has been singing like this longer than I've been alive. He's got good technique and seems to take pretty good care of himself. I think he actually sounds better than ever before on this album.
This group is one of the founding bands of melodic death metal. None of the members here are original members of the band, although Anders the lead singer and Bjorn the guitarist who didn't play the solo have been in since the early days. The other three are all pretty new to the band.
For other great examples of this genre, check out Dark Tranquility, which is one of the other founding bands of this genre. I love all their music and couldn't really pick one song of theirs. Another great melodeath band is Insomnium, and their song "While We Sleep" is, in my opinion, the single best melodeath song I've heard.
In Flames' founding guitarist Jesper Stromblad, along with three other longtime former members of In Flames and Dark Tranquility's singer Mikael Stanne (who also sang on In Flames' first album) recently started a new band called The Halo Effect, which really revived the classic 90s melodeath sound. Their songs "Shadowminds" or "Feel What I Believe" would be good to check out also.
Appreciate the insight, thank you!
A bit ironic that many of In Flames's and Drank Tranquility's past and present members has played in both bands, and they are both concidered almost like the founding fathers of modern melodeath or even melodeath in general.
Bro, In Flames in metal community are one of the top legendary. They are also pioneer of melodic death metal sound. Thanks for reaction. Subs are done, please make more metal reaction.
On it brother! Been unwell this week. Will try to get more done soon
You can't really attribute melo-death sound to In Flames. And melo-death was already going strong in Finland too at that point although Finland didn't have things explode until mid 90s or later 90s which spawned some of the greatest bands in the genre. If i had to pick one band that is the influence on melo-death as a whole i'd say At the gates holds that spot which is a band which started at the same time as In flames in the same circles. Everyone and their mother has been aping what At the Gates did back in the day.
I never took time to listen to something like this but I loved it right away
Welcome to Melodic Death Metal!
Sweden’s finest. Been doing it for a long time. Can’t wait for the new album. You should check out Spiritbox next. Start with their song Blessed Be. I think you’ll enjoy it.
As a guy that comes from hip hop such as yourself, I understand being hyper focused on the vocal aspect and lyrical content. I think you’d get more out of the harsh vocal styles of metal if you look at the vocals less so as a melodic vessel to deliver lyrics and more so as a percussive instrument, another texture. I think it’s worthwhile to consider that advice because some of the absolute and undeniably best and beautiful music out there is in metal, and even found a lot of times with bands that use primarily screaming vocals.
Exactly this
Yeah. It's almost like the more brutal the metal, the closer ties it has to classical music or traditional folk music. I listen to quite a lot of folk metal and even the smaller bands, such as Midvinterblot, for example, are really fucking talented when it comes to making music. Can really recommend their songs Hörgr and Gammeldans.
Great Reaction KAZ , love what you are building here…. COMMUNITY
Much love! I hope to get back in the game soon.
More In Flames, more metal. 👍🏼
In my opinion the whole album is warning lyrically. I think it's all about the happenings what's happening globally. Not just the wars, but also global warming etc.
Inflames = top... I'm waiting the concert in October
One thing i LOVE about In Flames is that, what you hear in this video(quality) is what they sound like live. I've seen them 7 times live now and I'm as blowed away as always.
Only 30+ years of material left to check out, not to mention that melodeath is chock-ful of awesome, awesome bands. Just recently getting into In Flames and melodeath myself and it's like the ultimate metal candyshop. Soilwork got to me first (insane mix of harsh and clean vocals), but there's so much more. Enjoy!
For anyone wondering the song is about the desperation and frustration brought on by the chaotic dystopia of post-pandemic society
Thanks for sharing
Welcome to the rabbithole of melodic death metal!
Trivium - No way back, just through
Welcome to Inflames! The guy doing the solo Chris Broderick. He’s amazing, formally from Megadeth - Super nice guy. If you want to visit more thrash Metal, please check out Kreator, Megadeth, Testament, Exodus, Slayer, Death Angel, Sepultura, Anthrax, Overkill & of course Metallica. That’s just the beginning! Enjoy the ride 🤘🇦🇺
Welcome to the gods of Swedish melodic death metal. Anyhow if you’re into drums you should check out Trivium. They’re new drummer Alex Bent is absolutely insane.
Good vocals always help!! My favorite metal is Swedish death metal which Inflames falls under along with Soilwork and Scar symmetry!!
What really brings home the power and energy to metal is double bass drumming. Everyone, no matter what genre, can relate to a drum beat if hit right, giving that pop and life to a song! Metal drumming also draws from jazz influences, amongst other things, which creates technical masterpieces!!
Queue the guitarists hate lol
Anders Friden has been a beast since the late 80's!!
I think you nailed the message. #IFWT. Great reaction to my favorite metal band
Thanks for watching!
For a more interesting visual video - Foregone Part 2. It was just recently released, part of this same upcoming album. Now's the time to make an impression video :) Looking forward to it!
In Flames was _the_ biggest metal band in the world when SOAD dropped their debut album.
If you were around metal at that time, youve 100% heard this band.
Maybe you didnt know it, but its almost impossible that you havnt 🤣
5:27 I love how you just automatically do metalface. Its proof: heavy ass riffs just do that to a person. 100% of the time.
In the rap world we call that the "Stank Face," but the concept remains the same i believe. That shit was international haha
Caught me off guard man. Dope reaction. In Flames go hard damn
Their album Clayman is a huge influence on what became modern metal production wise. People are still chasing that guitar tone. Bullet Ride and Pinball Map are favorites of mine if you want something more of them to react to. An even older classic tune is Artifacts of the Black Rain and that one is really, really good.
The immediate stank face 😂
In flames is incredible. Pioneers of Swedish Melodic Death Metal.
metalhead attracted
Welcome!
I treat dirty vocals as just another instrument when listening, I don't really care what is being said I just like the sound.
Now if you want to see crazy shit on the drums look up "bleed" by meshuggah. That song took their drummer 6 months to be able to play
Props man Great réaction!!! 🤟🤟😜
Most metal vocalists are insanely talented! To be able to go from growls, or harsh to clean is so complex! These guys are fire. Another stupid good melodic death metal band is Orbit Culture!! They just dropped a new song from the up coming album August 18th release of "decent" you should check out "From the Inside".....you wont regret going down the Metal Rabbit Hole!!!
The lead guitarist is Chris Broderick, ex Megadeth. Amazing guitar player, college degree in classical guitar
Legendary!
That solo was crazy haha
I’d love to see your reaction to Parkway Drives, Darker Still
Fantastic! Top 5 in the world. Björn
It's so refreshing to hear someone who listens to hip hop and rap appreciate this genre of music, most people I know immediately say "How can you listen to this, it's just noise!". So, thanks for being open-minded!
And thhe whole new album, Foregone, is Anders being sick and tired and slightly angry at the world during and after the pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine. He feels that we, as humans, are still as disrespectful as we were before 2020. And also, that he, and the rest of the band, wasn't able to tour for 3 years. He felt as he almost took us fans for granted and that "They'll always be there", but he had an eye-opener and are even more thankful for being able to tour the world and meet the fans again.
Also, the growling/screaming is years of practice, most metal singers these days have talked to a voice coach to not strain their vocal cords anymore. There is a wrong way and a right way.
wow i was in dubai too and i cant wait to see your reaction of something that isnt in your alley
"I stopped when this new age shit came out." Yet In Flames is older than all the bands you listed being officially started in 1990.
I had no idea
My brother. The word is Groove
As an In Flames fan I am going to say "react to more In Flames!!" :)
React to colony if you want some of their OG stuff that's still digestable to a new ear
this album is far more metalcore to me...which they pioneered
You have to pull up the lyrics with these hardcore vocal songs. You'll hear the word when you read along.
Good idea
I got into in flames back in 2005-06.
But I like all kinds but mostly power metal but I do like melodic death metal and occasionally something like cannibal corpse 😅😅😅.but yeah I can go from like Nightwish to like children of bodom then switch to something like Big Pun. I'm skitzo like that with my music selections😅😅😅
I love in flames, they have been out for over 30 years and still going strong. And I think you should check out Save Me by In Flames
state of slow decay is another song off this record that has a video. If you want to watch a drum showcase for a psycho metal drummer you could check out an infant annihilator drum playthrough.
Thanks!
In Flames is older than System of a Down by a handful of years.
I had absolutely no idea!
Great to se In Flames on your RUclipsl! I would like to see you react to Ice-T
Old skool damn, good call
Try slaughter to prevail - demolisher
And next.. Lorba Shore - Cursed to die
music from is a journey
The Kings of MeloDeath, IN FLAMES WE TRUST!
Hey try listening to E-Town Concrete bruh, maybe that'll blow you away, "Mandibles" or "So Many Nights" are my suggestions from them for you to listen to. Peace!
I look forward to checking them all out
Hi, enjoyed your reaction to this amazing band. I have a great suggestion for you, Swedish rapper Xersize with Scars. A strong video with amazing lyrics describing anxiety and depression in a way thats gonna make you cry. And there are so many oeople fighting with this, and these lyrics are so point on. Hope to se you check him out 😀👍🇸🇪
Heja Sverige!
The song is about the great reset/ new world order
You should check out Demon Hunter - Devotion
It's hard for everyone to make out the growl/scream lyrics. Don't put yourself down for that. It's fine. It'll get a bit easier, but they're like that for a reason.
please react to in flames - the hive
I Really Hope You See This Comment! 😃
If you want really good hip hop, check out Swedens by far best hiphop/rap group "Looptroop rockers" 👏
I would suggest:
1. Don't hate the player
2. Long arm of the law
3. Fort Europa
Bonustrack (!)
Promoe (the mainrapper in Looptroop rockers) These walls don't lie
And i can almost promise you that you will like it and think "this can't be Swedish rappers" 😏👏

Great reaction 👊
Can you check out "Popular Monster" by Falling in Reverse.
I'll bet you will digg it.
Rap/metal😎
I used to like rap but got bored fast and went back to metal.
