I never hated my hair more than when it was that pixie-boycut thing. I have naturally wavy hair, and when it’s that short, it goes all over the place and cannot be brushed or smoothed into submission, and it doesn’t have any weight for gravity to lend a hand. So many days I wound up with several barrettes or clips holding down the worst cowlick curls, which were often in odd places for barrettes or clips. Long hair is much easier-just brush it out, and if it’s not cooperating, tie it up in a pony or a bun or a claw-clip! The sad thing is, that short cut wasn’t even my choice. I was 10, and my long golden “Princess hair” was thinning for some reason we never figured out. My mother decided to have it all chopped off, complete with a shaved nape, and I was not happy about it. Too mature to scream and cry, but frowning in the mirror the whole time. Three years later, when I grew it back out, my hair had turned mouse-brown and even wavier than before. Needless to say, I never took my mom’s suggestions for hairstyles ever again.
I buzzed my super baby fine hair about a year ago because why not. I LOVE the hairstyle. This is the first time I don't have to worry about how thin it looks, how oily it looks, how "flat" it looks. I just get up and roll with it. It's the best decision I've ever made with my hair.
Both my parents did this over 20 years ago (now in their mid 80's). Best thing they ever did.. they said. No more hair cuts to pay for. They buzz each others head every 6-8 weeks.
When you were talking about how some exceptional people can cut their own hair, I immediately thought of Stella Cini...her skill with hair is impressive.
That voice and grimace when you told her she had a tail at the back so perfectly encompassed the thoughts and feelings of the whole thing 😂. Your videos are always a hoot, thank you!
She looks beautiful with long and short hair 😍 she just needs to get it straightened out a bit, especially thr back. However, she did a decent job considering how she just hacked at it. We've definitely seen worse
Yeah she did a good job and hell she even used sharp scissors! Oh and she didn#t fuck her bangs up, which is so easy to do. I had the fear it would bounce up when she pulled it, not gonna lie
What he said about “working” on short hair is why mine is long. I can’t take the time to blow it dry or curl it etc. However I can do a nice half updo or a braid in seconds. I just make sure I keep it healthy and wear it loose as often as I can.
Eh, that's the thing. If you have long hair and you spend time every day to do something with it then yes, short hair will save you some time. But if you wear it in a bun all the time because you don't feel like dedicating time to do anything with it, well, a short haircut will be an issue (and weirdly, many people don't realize that short hair need some maintenance on every day basis).
I had long hair, went to a full out pixie cut. Loved it but realized faaaast that it required daily maintenance. Sleep wrong, you'll see it. I missed braids and buns and curls. I'm in the process of growing it out again and will never go short.
I have had varying lengths of long hair for 30 years. Instead of doing it myself, i went to a stylist. We talked about what I wanted for a good 10 minutes or more. She really took her time and asked what my goals were. Then she spent probably 45 minutes cutting my hair into a shoulder length bob with long layers... and im going to say it's the best haircut ive ever had. I wash it, towel it dry, and brush it out. It falls into place and dries into a cute style without me having to work with it. I stand by my choice! Lol
I wish you did more videos, I'm always slightly disappointed when I click on the notification and it's a "short" 😊 I just love your videos, no shade thrown! X 😎

As a hairdresser the sound of scissors struggling to cut sounds like someone taking they're nails down a chalk board, love hair Buddah face when be reacts, you got me through lock down and now I can't wait for your videos
I'm a hairdresser. These videos can for sure set my blood pressure on high. I had to fix a lot of home done HC. It just blows my mind how these people think they can cut their own hair. !!!!???? Just WOW!!!
I had really long hair and felt like her as I wore it up a lot and then one day at age 15, I shaved my head and it was liberating , but the grow back period sucked. Her hair turned out not too badly and she looks good with short hair.
I'm just glad she used hair cutting scissors, not craft/kitchen/garden scissors! If you haven't seen anyone on the channel use garden scissors, it's a sign that you're new. Just hang out here for awhile, a lot of things will make you laugh until your stomach hurts, but not much will surprise you!
Not bad. I was able to chop mine off. It was a bit difficult, but I used a large mirror, broght my hand down on the section that needed to be fixed, held it in place, put the mirror down, cut, check, repeat. I actually did it. And of course, wet hair. It's almost time for a trim and don't think I'll do it myself again. 😂
I'm an older lady, and my hair is almost to my waist. Most days I wear it up, but someday it's a bun, sometimes it's a braid, ect. But when I'm done for the day, it I'm going somewhere nice, i have long, luxurious hair, that is healthy, because i just wash it, and put it up. Lol Long hair gives me so many choices, without a lot of effort. I am blessed! Love you buddha! Namaste brotha😎🙏💛🧡❤💜💚💙
Honestly, I can relate to the - just chop it off - term. That's how I feel when my hair gets too long. I do just want it gone. That does lead to drunken middle of the night haircuts.. but most turn out ok. And, if not, meh.. can't be any worse than when I said I wanted shoulder length hair with some light, one-inch layering (holding an inch of the bottom of my hair in my hands for demonstration) -- and then, after the main cut, the hairdresser grabs the very top back piece of hair and cuts it one inch from my root. I think that was my best poker face ever. I *DIED* inside.. but, what are you gonna do? There's no fixing that. I figured she must have some kind of plan to make it at least look intentional, and she'll execute that plan better if she doesn't feel horrible and now doubting herself because of a crying client. She never knew. I've cut my own hair ever since.

I see your point but I’m going off on the assumption that OP has thick long hair like a mane because of their Viking description.

I had to buzz my head after I fried it with bleach. Lesson learned. Now my hair is 2 inches and cannot wait till it’s long enough for extensions. What I learned: always go to a professional!
It honestly felt great. My hair growing in is new and not damaged. It’s like a second chance to not damage it with bleach and colors. I get to see how many grays are coming in lol. But it’s all good.
sometimes I want to cut my long hair, because of the bleach damage and butchered layers, but i dont think i can handle having short hair. I got about 10 months worth of regrowth too, so it doesnt look bad if i wear it in a pontyail
When my hairdresser cuts off a little too much than what I wanted, I have a mental freak out. Even though it looks and feels amazing! And even though my very long hair annoys me to no end and I tell everyone how I want to chop ot off, because of how slow it grows, that's what keeps me from cutting off a significant amount.
It’s probably growing slowly because it’s in bad shape. Cutting it shorter and then keeping it conditioned will help it grow nicer. Keep your expectations realistic. Even great hair only grows about a half an inch per month, so you can only expect six inches in a year. You say the long hair is annoying, so what’s the problem? Better gorgeous hair that’s shorter than keeping long hair just for the sake of long hair. You don’t get a badge or reward or anything.
Your reaction got me howling with laughter!!! I've always had long hair to my butt, there's no way on God's earth I'd do that... Never, she's got some balls lmao 😂😂😂👍🏼
Her hair was beautiful but if she wanted a change I'm all for it. I hope she gets it fixed though. I'm growing out my pandemic haircut, I did it on April 2020. It was about as long as hers and then I gave myself a chin length bob. I loved it even if it wasn't perfect, so I used rollers to curl it because curls are so forgiving lol. Now it is almost to my waist but I want it to reach my hips. If I ever get sick of it, I'll just save money to go to a good salon and ask for Trinity's haircut from the first Matrix movie. I've been obsessed with that hairstyle for most of my life, but I wasn't courageous enough. I didn't care if I looked ratchet when I was younger, but now I want to look my best, even if it means I have to save money for months.
She had such gorgeous long hair; hair that I can only dream of having with curly hair that just won’t go past a certain length. It hurt my heart to watch this!
My sister cut her own hair (successfully) all through college. She kept bugging me to allow her to cut my hair (which was much longer and finer). When I finally caved, she wound up snipping into the back edge of my ear. NEVER AGAIN.
I have butt-length long hair, and I always wear it down. Sometimes it's frizzy, sometimes it's nice, but I don't care. I just do the bare minimum to get it decent in the morning and go. Sometimes I'll just brush it and quickly pull the top into a clip. Sometimes my waves/curls look decent, so I'll spritz it with some stuff and go into the world. No one (except my mom, haha) ever says anything about it. Most of the time, the pressure to have perfect hair every day is self-inflicted.
Omg when she did the second half I was scared she was going to stab herself in the neck 😂 I do really love that cut on her though, it suits her so much 😍 I would love to see how she fixed it
In my 20s I had thick hair down to my butt, but I lived in Perth, Western Australia, so like this person, my hair spent most of its life in a bun! However I went to a hairdresser and had it "removed" professionally 😄
I miss my long hair when its short... being able to braid and play with up-styles... but i also love the cooler neck and ease that comes with having short hair lol its the in between bit of growing out that annoys me most. You should always part it where you usually part it! If you have a side part, it will be longer on one side if you want it blunt at the ends. Only part down the middle if thats how you normally wear it. Btw- I love your ring with the straight razor!
You and your videos i love very much. I have learned a lot from your videos. Thank you. I will let the pros do my color and cut. Much blessings to all here and you and your family hair Buddah.
Some folks look good with it short or long, like this woman. I had very short and sometimes buzzed cut for a long time, but during C-19 it grew it out. Now it is long, and I like it. I like that I can wear it up or down when I feel like it. When it is short, there are no choices.
Close to 3 years ago I shaved my head down to a 2 guard from a long pixie and I never went back My sister told me “ I’ve never seen someone so happy not to have hair”
1st If you've never cut hair before watch vids of pros doing to learn how to do it right 2nd Pro tip cut off less than you want to it leaves room to go in and fix mistakes without losing too much length 3rd Section hair in threes one in the back one on each side but if like me you have thick hair than have 2 sections on each side that's how I do it, it works. Hope this helps, love ya Buddha thanks
A lot of professionals have had trouble cutting my hair and not giving me a mushroom/pyramid hairstyle, so I’m definitely not cutting my own. Curly hair, especially type 4 hair is hard. I hope to find someone someday that can help me with my hair. 😭
She is very attractive and Her attitude is captivating. I love the look she got and actually makes her more attractive in my opinion. If she had Hair Budda fix that hack cut she would look absolutely stunning.
So schöne, lange Haare.
Groeten Gianna

I had to cut my split ends once but before i did that i first watched tutorials on HOW to do that. What i did was section it in half and then into 5 layers, then i used the lowest section as base for the higher sections and it came out even.
This, initially came out cute!! I hope she gets it fixed up. Very nice cut for her.

I have a question for Hair Buddha, I've been using a shampoo which, among several ingredients has nettle, aloe vera, etc, also I've been using a shampoo brush everytime I wash in order to make my hair thicker, stimulate hair growth and all that. However a few weeks ago I spend a weekend at a city called Volta Redonda which is known for it's steel products factory and since then my hair has been 3 times darker then before rs. Was it the shampoo, the shampoo brush, the steel dust or all of them combined?
Your reactions to this video really made me laugh. And yes your mind has to be made up to go from long to short. I went from past my shoulder length to a shaved side pixie cut. But my decision to do that was firm from the get go. And I went to a professional salon to have it cut. Love the video.
My hair is twice that length. It’s way too long but during Covid, and having Covid twice, I just let it grow. I get tangled in it when I sleep. It gets slammed in car doors/windows if windy. Yes I wear it down. I have no idea how to do an updo. So as soon as I can get to the stylist I’m getting some cut. No pixie, no short Bob. Thinking just below collar bones. I have naturally wavy hair and with curl crème it will make ringlet curls. Not permed or colored. Oh btw I fractured my neck and this long of hair is REALLY HEAVY on my neck!! Constantly pulling my neck and very painful. So that’s the main reason I’m cutting it. But I’ve never done anything to my own hair…🐓😂 I will let the stylist handle it and I can relax knowing I will leave her salon with a nice cut. 😊
I used to grow my hair out long then get it cut into a short angled bob and donate the hair every few years. *Every time* I had my hair above my shoulders, one side would curl under and the other side would flip up, it was so hard to make them look the same and it drove me crazy!! Now that I'm more than 50% gray I just keep it long so I don't have to deal with it😅
As she's contemplating, I thought a long bob would look fabulous with her face and hair color. Of course, the dry wavy hair screaming to be wet ... Says Stop and wash me to finish PLEASE 🤗
I've just had my hair dyed professionally, but I'm scared when it comes to bleaching my roots. I don't want to touch my coloured hair, can I use conditioner or something to block the bleach?
This length is perfect for her. I applaude her for being brave enough to cut so much length off herself. Yes, it needs a bit of straightening up. I would consider this one of the best home haircuts I have seen. Good job!
People with long hair always underestimate the amount of styling short hair needs 😭

I didn't care if I looked ratchet when I was younger, but now I want to look my best, even if it means I have to save money for months.
Long hair is way more convenient. Put it up or braid it and done :p
Omg she even did bangs 😂 that was my childhood haircut to a t.
I like her lol😂 her energy is great
She had such gorgeous long hair; hair that I can only dream of having with curly hair that just won’t go past a certain length.
Hair Buddha needs a stress ball to squeeze when he's watching this kind of content.
Perfect suggestion, but it might take away from his animated facial expressions.
Omg when she did the second half I was scared she was going to stab herself in the neck 😂
I do really love that cut on her though, it suits her so much 😍 I would love to see how she fixed it
In my 20s I had thick hair down to my butt, but I lived in Perth, Western Australia, so like this person, my hair spent most of its life in a bun! However I went to a hairdresser and had it "removed" professionally 😄
"I can feel it in my bones..."
Buddha
😂😂🤣
I would NOT have cut that hair! I wish my hair was that long and healthy
Thank you
@@hair-buddha you are quite welcome thanks again for taking the time to reply.
She has so many hair!!! I'd love to have that amout of hair!!! She looks beautiful both ways
Some folks look good with it short or long, like this woman. I had very short and sometimes buzzed cut for a long time, but during C-19 it grew it out. Now it is long, and I like it. I like that I can wear it up or down when I feel like it. When it is short, there are no choices.
I often had long hair in my life and always wore it loose. I love long hair so much
My stomach was in knots watching this!! It was almost too much for me. She looks cute with short hair though, but what a journey!!
Looks great on her, JUST look forward always :D
Love the hair Buddha ♥️♥️😂😂
Close to 3 years ago I shaved my head down to a 2 guard from a long pixie and I never went back
My sister told me “ I’ve never seen someone so happy not to have hair”
She’s so cute! She did pretty good!! I like it :)
1st If you've never cut hair before watch vids of pros doing to learn how to do it right
2nd Pro tip cut off less than you want to it leaves room to go in and fix mistakes without losing too much length
3rd Section hair in threes one in the back one on each side but if like me you have thick hair than have 2 sections on each side that's how I do it, it works. Hope this helps, love ya Buddha thanks
I've planned to cut my hair for months, but I watch hair budda and change my mind.
I buzzed my hair after growing it for years. I donated it. Now I have permanent bedhead and love it. Wash and go.
The imitation of the hacking sound was priceless! 😂
Her reaction when she got that flip I’m dead😂
A lot of professionals have had trouble cutting my hair and not giving me a mushroom/pyramid hairstyle, so I’m definitely not cutting my own. Curly hair, especially type 4 hair is hard. I hope to find someone someday that can help me with my hair. 😭
Yes. Finding a stylist who specializes in curly or thick hair is not easy.
*OH GOD.... THAT SOUND* !!! Cutting with NON-hair shears. 😖😖😖
"the hair is screaming" 🤣🤣🤣
She is very attractive and Her attitude is captivating. I love the look she got and actually makes her more attractive in my opinion. If she had Hair Budda fix that hack cut she would look absolutely stunning.
I would never make such a drastic change by myself. This is something you need a professional to do
If you have long healthy hair and you want a short haircut, go to a salon so they can donate your hair to someone who needs it. Please.
lol the amount of times i said "oh no! stop it!" is immeasurable.
her long blond hair was beautiful. and result very good too
Love love love it!!!
Go to a salon is the lesson I learned a long time ago!
So schöne, lange Haare. Man kann so viel daraus machen. Ein Bob ist auch schön, aber nur wenn die Haare von Fachleuten geschnitten werden. Immer zum Friseur.
She looks lovely :)
Groeten Gianna
I tell you every time I comment but you really make my day! 😁
I’m so happy for that
She did a great job! She should start a career. So much potential.
💁🏻♀️Wigs are a girl' s beeeest frieeeend🎵🎶✨ (Just to know how it would look and feel or to change yout hairstyle temporary). Your resignation mode ON... priceless 🧛🏻♀️🖤
That sound of the scissors hacking the hair hurts! Ah! 🫣
Omg.. this girl has 10 times the amount of hair on one side of her hair then I have on all my head!!! Can I say this is one the most beautiful blonde I've seen? 🥰🥰
the new length of her hair is perfectly for her. She is very beautiful.
Years ago I cut my hair just like & the back came out very good I always cut & trim my own hair. 🤗
I wish I could find a way to brag you my bangs I cut through your guidelines my happy pill ❤️
Love the video.
she did a good job
The sound you are making for cutting hair ...OMG ...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
But I’ve never done anything to my own hair…🐓😂
I will let the stylist handle it and I can relax knowing I will leave her salon with a nice cut. 😊
I have a short bob with slightly wavy hair and I just toss it around a bit when I wake up in the morning and I'm good to go 😂
04:38 oh, you're so adorable and funny ☺️😆
I used to grow my hair out long then get it cut into a short angled bob and donate the hair every few years. *Every time* I had my hair above my shoulders, one side would curl under and the other side would flip up, it was so hard to make them look the same and it drove me crazy!! Now that I'm more than 50% gray I just keep it long so I don't have to deal with it😅
A buzz cut/shaved head would look great on her. She has the face structure for it.
@Hair Buddha, I was 'deep breathing' along with you.. You could do some merchandise with that logo on it. I Enjoy your content, by the way.
Her blonde looks pretty. I have long blue back hair loving it! Will never chop it off heck no. Nor color it. I put on wigs if I want blonde 😁
Oh NOOOOO her beautyful hair😱😱😱 i wish I had so beautyful hair
Love the shirt😎
As she's contemplating, I thought a long bob would look fabulous with her face and hair color. Of course, the dry wavy hair screaming to be wet ... Says Stop and wash me to finish PLEASE 🤗
I've just had my hair dyed professionally, but I'm scared when it comes to bleaching my roots. I don't want to touch my coloured hair, can I use conditioner or something to block the bleach?
The shorter length looks great on her 👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🍺💕
This length is perfect for her. I applaude her for being brave enough to cut so much length off herself. Yes, it needs a bit of straightening up. I would consider this one of the best home haircuts I have seen. Good job!
Perfect length for her, but the back...
@@hair-buddha Yes, the back needs some help. You are too funny! You message just as you talk. I love it!
I agree, it looks lovely, and to the "untrained" eye, it's not so bad at the back x 😉 I know hb disagrees 😀 😆
