Love how you listed them out! Lol ...all of which he repeatedly repeats in almost every video.. poor Hair Buddha gets so upset. Hugs! Some of us are learning!!!
Yep! 20 years of dying my long hair black. Just got fed up with it. Decided I wanted a change so I grew my roots out for a while then had it cut very short. It was the only way to get rid of the black (I called it a hard reset of my hair 😁) It’s now neon pink and shoulder length
Even I groan when they use quick blue ,don't do sections or do roots straight after lengths in same session ,watching hair buddha is teaching me haha 😅
I’m a hairdresser. I always say coloring hair may not be rocket science, but there is a science behind it. A lot of people fail to realize that and that is why end up with all these hair disasters.
I had black hair and wanted to be silver but my hairdresser said that was not possible without destroying my hair completely so we instead went blonde SLOWLY over 2 year period. It cost a fortune but at least my hair isn’t ruined nor looks like a brush head 😅 don’t do this at home, never works!
I went from deep red back to my natural blonde color. My hairdresser took over a year and although I had awkward stages ( looked fine...just not my favorite colors) my hair stayed healthy. I'm so glad we took our time.
I started laughing the minute the QB label appeared, because I KNEW there'd be the exasperated eye roll from HB! 😁 I also winced when I saw all the bleach on the back of her neck, that's one area that I get irritation if I don't wipe the products off.
The soft black color is gorgeous on her but it seems like no one likes their own natural color. I am guilty of it myself. As I have been watching your videos more memories surface of the crazy crap I did with my own hair over the years. I have tried to color over black box dye with a lighter box dye (omg, a few times!), but that was when I was really young. I have attempted hair color removers and home highlights as well as Sun-in. It just would not compute that lightening my hair would produce orange instead of a lighter brown. So much retroactive cringe!
That color didn't suit her skin or eyes. She should have let it be but like you said, we're never happy with our own hair color. At least not until we've ruined our hair a million times first
@@monicaavalos9312 I think a blend of brown with the pink/purple highlights could have looked nice. I hope she didn't go over all of it with a black box dye. I bet she did, though, lol.
I love your videos! You remind me of my father years ago. He used to say everything you do and it makes me laugh My father was an excellent cosmetologist (his clients followed him wherever he went) his dream was to open him own salon but unfortunately he died before it came to be. Your videos are awesome and bring back memories of my dad for sure. All your tips are something MORE people NEED to listen to. Keep on keeping on man! Your great!
Im pretty sure the reason ppl do the roots during first application is bc of Brab Mondo! When he got popular he would always say do mids then ends and let thrm process for a little bit and then do roots last all in the same application! I have NEVER heard him say do mids and ends let process but leave the roots out! Then wash that all out do it again till you want the right color and then you do the roots in a different application! Brad ruined it! Bc thats why at the beginning it always sounds like they are gonna do the right thing and say.. oh roots last!! But then instantly do roots in the first application! Lol So we can blame Brad for teaching everyone the wrong way to bleach hair!!
It's why I love so much my hairdresser (yes, I do!) because it's affordable, and she's a pro, so: no surprises, good advices, she explains what she can do and why she can't...and at the end of the day, going to the hairdresser makes your day; you go in the room miserable, you go out glamourous (and you know all the gossips of your little town..🤣😂 hi from France... (and thanks for the fun!)
I doubt HB will read this comment but just in case: for about half the video only his audio was available. Her face was on the screen and she was talking but no sound.
I leave my car to the mechanics and my hair to the hair stylist, professionals do it best. Just got my silver hair for my bday and am in love, my hair stylist is an artist!
I am eternally shocked that so many of these people doing their own hair do not think it’s important to spend any time educating themselves before taking such a risk. They think that reading the box is education? They do not even learn about the risk or even think of the concept of ventilation. Youth is not an excuse for choosing to remain ignorant of what they are doing. Learning is a lifetime commitment to yourself.
I thought her ends looked pretty after the first time. I'd have just toned and left it alone to get a little healthier for a while. I actually tone my hair with a hair color 😂 lavender smoke by Kristen Hess from target. Its a conditioner and I put it on, leave it 2-3 minutes, then wash it out. I only do it because my hair is so damaged it doesn't pick up toner well. That's my fault....from this video I now understand to do my roots once the length is the color I want. Brad mondo never told me that 😂
I don't think I'd even consider doing this at home, but if I did, I'd definitely take your advice. Thank you for another entertaining video. Chowkes from Veurne!
My hair is really dark, so I mix 9% developer with pinkish red Matrix booster and got beautifull and vibrant color which faded into more pastel tone. From your videos I learned, that I didn't need to bleach my hair to go red, I just needed the right product.
15 years ago Silver/Purple shampoo was really hard to find here in Sweden and it was usually expensive once you found it- so to get the yellow out a lot of people used a cool shade of purple from Manic Panic, mixed it with conditioner and left it on for 5-10 minutes. It really worked :) Another thing that worked was to get an ash blonde box dye and use the same way as the manic panic to get rid of the yellow shades :)
Love your videos! This one was hard to follow though, because the audio of her clip went of half way through, so I could only watch and hear your comments. But it was still a great video! Have a good weekend!
There are two most popular kinds of paint - watercolor and acrylic. Most people think that hair color is like acrylic paint and will allow to cover everything by any color. Yellow will cover black, pastel pink will do OK over indigo and mahogany is OK to color it neon green. With acrylic it works flawlessly. But it will never happen to watercolors! They are transparent or translucent and light colors will never allow to cover dark ones. You can't take any random color and apply anywhere you want, you should always consider the base of any of your further steps.
Thanks Buddha. With your videos, I learn lot of things about bleaching, coloring, cutting.... Very good for my brain ^^ Learning learnig all with pros, it's perfect.
I popped to the hairdressers on Thursday. It’s the second time I’ve used her. The first time she asked many questions which I understand why now. I understand why for long hair it is a good price. There’s so much to consider and think about which I didn’t know before. I did use box dyes for two years to save money, but never again. Why do it at home, when I can get a lovely cup of tea, a head massage, a good natter, people watching, and be relaxed at the end of it? And after a couple of hours I’ve hair I love, love, love.
I agree... And hair is an investment you will reap the benefits of (or not) EVERY single day! A professional cut and/or color can save you HOURS over the course of just a week... How much is your time, and lack of hassle, worth? :)
Putting on my make up and listening to this video and heard him say: “of course you’re hating it. I’m already hating this video”…..I broke out laughing.😂😂😂

@13:19 I think you misunderstood, she was putting two different shades on the top and bottom of her hair precisely because the base was two different colours, so that it would even out a bit 😅
Couple times i went from black box dye to platinum blonde. The hairdresser did it with bleaches 3 monthly. Went through the period of having ugly brassy hair but got there lol. Now i'm icy platinum again after getting purple out, i never learn.
Sometimes it feels like, dying your hair is like painting with acrylic on a canvas… You know, when the first colour dried and you put another thick colour over it with not enough water, it will just paint stainless over it - I don‘t know xD Well, I sinned in the past too with my hair until the point it was slowly going to die… But I learned from it, going to the hairdresser and my hair is still really healthy x3
Would it be okay if you bleached the roots, then left them alone the next few times you bleached? I think of how tired my arms get when I hold them up for a long time; I'd rather do the more precise movements first, then do the broader movements with my arms last. Or, would doing the roots first risk frying the hair by the 2nd or 3rd bleach application?
You're always better not touching the root at all until the end because if you go back into your mid lengths and ends it can somtimes bleed at the root. If roots are over processed it can be brighter or even snap off, because the heat from the scalp is so intense it causes the hair to develop quicker in that area. It can also create chemical burns.
