Yes the main body is hollow, but it's pretty heavy. We're going to try it out first. If it needs more weight, I'll weld a 1/4" NPT bung on it and fine tune the weight with lead shot.
@@mrjibrhanjamalkhan2144 It's a drag-anchor for a fishing boat, something to help control the boat while fishing in current. In calm water/wind it could hold a boat in place, but it's not designed to "latch on" to the bottom like a proper boat anchor. This is my interpretation of the facts presented, according to the experience I have.
Aaron - that is a fabulous demonstration of stainless fabrication. I especially like your 'no-nonsense' way of locating and fixturing components. You do it very quickly, with superb results. Be careful out there in that little boat!
For anybody on the fence about getting Aaron's educational program, I will tell you my aluminum welding went from crap to building aluminum boxes for gifts to repairing aluminum trailer and other types of aluminum welds in 3 weeks time. I am not telling you this except for the fact, I paid 20 plus year welders to privately teach me how to TIG aluminum and was still laying down crap beads.
It’s cool how you automate yourself. Or mechanize yourself whenever possible. One of the first vids I saw you had that hose clamp on the drill driving the rotary table. Simple, easy, but not everyone thinks of this. Thanks for sharing. Nothing can replace experience.
Being a guy that usually uses a pedal.. I can’t push the button and keep hand that steady at the same time!! 🤩 👌 You’re just as good with SS as you are with AL! Great work brother! 🙏 👍
Gotta put the hours in. You weren't great at first with the pedal either, right? The trick is to squeeze and point the torch with your thumb and middle finger (usually) and only use light pressure with the index finger on the button.
Thank you for the reply and tips!!! 🙏 I have been doing mostly ss tig for over 10 years (not everyday but regularily) and I’m still no where close to your level 😆 I should invest in one of those pressure buttons though! (I only have the standard ESAB button/dial switch things with my torch.) Sorry to blab and keep up that amazing work brother! 🙏 Love your videos!
Is your new shop a trailer? I first noticed when you were at the drill press how narrow and long your work space looked, and then you threw the anchor out and I said "WTF?!".🤯😆
Love the TIG button! I just had a trailer repair this past weekend where I had to get under it, laying on my back. Easy peasy with that button, minus having to be on my back lol
I got the tig button from you when you first put it on the website, best thing I have ever got! I left it on my torch to get use to it for practice before I needed it, but like it so much I almost never use the foot pedal anymore. Thank you!
I made a boat anchor years ago but mine was ugly enough that I didn't mind throwing it in the water, it was only mild steel too so not too expensive to make especially because I used scrap bar ends to make it. I sure wouldn't want your anchor to get stuck and lost :-(
I thought you were going to throw it in the water and then it was going to float or something. Your previous jokes and pranks has ruined the trust bond between us.
i know you like to be all secretive and keep youre identity offline but i really wish you would at least commentate over these videos. Id just like to hear youre thoughts and opinions on what youre doing. good work nonetheless!

Sir can you explain what its for im not very clear on what it is.?

Make sure it’s perfect, those fish are super picky about welds! 🐟
Haha
hahaha
In a perfect world, we could get a video from you once a day. But I prefer quality over quantity. You are inspiration to so many of us. Thanks !
Imagine loosing this at sea to be found by someone years later. The coast guard would be there with minesweeping equipment real fast.
Cant lie i thought he was using the hole saw as a fly cutter. Its 3am i need to go to sleep
Man I thought the exact same thing
lol, after a shitty day realizing how much i suck at so many things....i remembered how much i love welding stainless. thanks for the vid.
Looks like a sea mine

I don't know why, but somehow I need a spike anchor in my life.

We seem to do things better when we have to think about them less which is why automation is great

Same here still a Leg End not yet a Legend like yourself 👍🏼
Love my tig button. Need to ground it to my machine though. I got bit last time I used it lol.
I'm used to the hand held remote.
Is your new shop a trailer? I first noticed when you were at the drill press how narrow and long your work space looked, and then you threw the anchor out and I said "WTF?!".🤯😆
Yes, he bought a tractor trailer and is using it as a mobile shop
For what purpose I wonder
@@Maxdubi thanks for the heads up! It's nice to see people make good use of the life I passed on! 😆 If only!!!
I can’t sleep but this is nice

In a very wired left handed situation I put the button in my filler rod hand, worked great
I guess gotta try one of those... 🤔
I bought 2 of them!! One on the shop rig and one on the mobile rig. Sold my foot pedals!
Why are you always wear a mask
Nice inside shot of the semi trailer

The shot at the end in the kayak with arm floaties was 👌
Glad to see the videos are flowing back!
0:12 Hi grandma. Would you knit me a sweater with that? I'm planning some sward fighting. :)

2:19 HAHAHAHAHA!!
A few inconsistency’s? How dare you!! Lol
That would have been 100 times better than my very best weld!!
Hey... where did you move to? Arizona? You finally sold your place in Utah?
Aaron I hope this is your shop your talents are Way beyond working for somebody and I know you do hot rod stuff keep up the good work bud
Very cool! How's the trailer working out? Doesn't appear to have impacted your abilities at all.
Very cool! I just tried .035 stainless rod with 1/16th tungsten and 51 amps (pedal down) no pulse and 10 cfh, pretty colors and no heat mark 😱
Gonna hate it when you lose that one. Most expensive in the world.
🇮🇩🌟👋indonesia present
Mantap!
You’re so rad dude. Thanks for showing and not talking lol
Literally a perfect weld: "a few inconsistencies"
Sweet I've missed this channel
That’s an expensive pice. Nice work
All we know, is that he is called...... the sTIG. . . .
Wow!What a excellent welding! Can you tel me what ampair is it?
what kind of stainless?
Cool
stick to the alloy lad ards stainless 35 years
Yay! Content
Review your rotator!
Yes yes!
the hardest part for me tig welding is feeding the rod manually...
What is the brand/model of your welder? Thanks very nice video
Completed weight? What would that custom fab cost?
Sorry , I'm not throwing that anchor overboard ! ( I tie lousy knots )
Hi bro. Don't you ever talk on your videos???
spoken audio is overrated.
1st
Nice
Not sure i understand the design but you sure did a nice job making it.
Perfeito 👏👏👏
You do dam nice work.
anchor? look more akin to a anti ship mine
Talent shows himself .. Loved it
Are you left or right handed?
Nice work, Aaron. The touch-up pass looks great. Even the "too hot" pass looked good to me, but your skills are way beyond mine.
Is it 304 or 316 stainless steel?
Is this a tried and trusted design , looks interesting but not sure id be trusting it , guess it depends on what the bottom is .
It's not for holding in place, but dragging for position and speed adjustment in current.
OUTSTANDING!😎😎
Why can't i weld like you....😢😭😩😠
You can you need to check your flow make sure it's not under and hear input. Make pieces clean.
Can you make a video on how to adjust the Tig welding machine?
the website tells all.
Oooo a minion body.
The Stig of Tig!
Whats is that?
Qué objeto es?
what is that
👏 bravo

Way too pretty to go in the water my dude
Dazzling the fish firsth helps them want to join the party in the boat.
🤣🤣Was wondering what it was for.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Um, what IS it for...?
Yeah? I am still wondering.
@@danl.4743 it’s an anchor, you know, like you’d throw off a boat
Can I have that tig button pressed and walk the cup or do I need to keep pressing it
Depends on your machine. If you can use your pedal as an off/on switch, then this will work too.
@@6061 I don't have a foot pedal. I turn on gas with knob and use just touch the material to strike an arc
What machine
Yay!
Good anchor!
Maybe, I would have to see if it hold. Had a lot of that looked great and even with ropes and chains specked by manufacturers didn’t hold.
It's awesome seeing your inexperience with stainless. You do do amazing work
