    Aaron - Your robot-like weld beads are beautiful, as I have come to expect from you. But I think I'm even more impressed with your quick, yet accurate methods of holding a lot of fiddly little bits with enough precision to get all the gaps tight and uniform, which is key for getting those world-class beads.

      Couldn't agree more, the first tack welds are the most difficult and most important.
      Here especially difficult since the parts are triangles, with pointy corners.
      It's annoying how easy it looks 😎

  • @JasonHam41

    I have to ask as I’m still trying to figure out the intricacies of this. The welds are beautiful but I don’t see a scratch of penetration on to the back side of those welds.
    Sure this is a just decorative piece but surely it’s compromised if it was to be of any other purpose?

    • @6061
      @6061  2 года назад +2

      Hi Jason,
      It's not a simple answer... I'll make a video on it. It depends on the forces applied on the weld joint, the direction of the forces, will there be heat cycling and vibration (engine parts),etc...
      This is a planter for a friend. If it holds water, it's strong enough. Aesthetics are what mattered on this piece. Nice pretty, consistent, shiny welds.
      The welds penetrate about halfway through. Plenty strong for what it is. Less heat, less distortion.
      "compromised" is a poor word choice.
