It's almost like riding on air! I figured I really needed to subtitle my intention especially for youtube. It's one thing to have a captive audience at a listening party where this was originally intended to be heard, but it's another when youtube leaves if they don't hear the hook within 5 seconds. 😆 Thanks Thomas!
Thanks so much Matt! I had a lot of fun with this one. It's a super underrated game but I hope a few people still check out the music especially since this track is soooo awesome!
Great "mashup brain" medley :) Sorry you had to miss your holiday, that always sucks. But given that, I'm very glad you stayed at home to recover instead of travelling anyway and infecting others. I had long covid for almost a year after one too many... so, thank you. Thank you very much. Those guitar harmonies in the middle were super cool too...
Thanks, I'm so glad you liked it! This was my second time with it and we did our absolute best to not give it to anyone else the two times we had it. I'm sorry that your case's effects lasted for so long after!
No kidding! I usually watch my video again (and again and again and again) right after I publish it and this notification was waiting for me before the song ended! I hope you liked it ;)
love how you make kirby music sound so classy with how well you played all these instruments and you did it while not feeling well, you are too talented! hope you feel better now!
I'm feeling fine now, thanks! I'm glad you liked it! This is actually one of two tracks I recorded in the same week while I had covid. The second was Smiles and Tears from Earthbound, which I did not do a video for but is out now on the Pixel Mixers Earthbound album (for earthbound/mother's birthday two days ago!)
At first I thought you left the metronome on, then I realized those are bass kicks. It's been a while since I played any Kirby game, but there's no doubt they always have great music. Loved this arrangement and the jangly bits too haha.
I used the bodhran for that to help drive it all forward a bit! My initial arrangement didn't have any of the percussion and I think it was improved by adding it. Glad you liked it!!
This is fantastic! I loved the little switcharoo at the beginning, these two pieces really do work well together. The violin lead is gorgeous, and I loved the mandolin sections. Beautiful arrangement as always!!
Thanks so much!! I had a lot of fun doing this one. It took me waaay longer than most of my recent covers since it just has sooo many parts to it, but I managed to get it all done while my family was away for spring break!
Thank you so much! I think a problem that a lot of multi-instrumentalists have is that they never really master any one instrument, and I'm trying really hard to bring my performance level up beyond just playing notes to really digging into the range of the instruments' capability, so comments like yours really make me feel seen for that effort!
@@SheaViolin You too! If you're wondering why I'm replying 8 months late, RUclips decided to stop notifying me of replies to my comments almost a year ago, and I've only now realized this. x_x
silvagunner ass fakeout lmao Real nice sound on this one, feels like it's more heavily layered than most of your work? idk it just came out really nice, great job on all the harmonies, it's not a track I've heard before but really enjoyed it
Thanks so much! The source is super thick with a lot going on in it, and I tried to carry most of that through in this arrangement. Glad you liked how it turned out!
" I'll probably have to change the arrangement slightly to license it for distribution since it's more than just a quote" It's a "medley" ;) totally licenseable if both all the components are licenseable ;) (but is kirby air ride licenseable? would be tragic if the gerudo valley part is licenseable but the city trial isn't)
You know I haven't checked 😅 it's not my #1 priority right now since I don't have a following on spotify and with the rules change I don't get paid anymore for my solo work. I'm just making what's fun and then I check afterward to see if I can distribute it 😂 Thanks so much for checking it out!! I have never attempted to license a medley though, so I'll have to look into that. Can you do it on soundrop?
@@SheaViolin not checking is probably a better strategy than my habit: checking, seeing, "oh no, this is unlicenseable," and then DOING IT ANYWAY lol. Yeah, for soundrop, the option for picking if publishing information is needed already says "A cover song (or a mix of cover songs)". Then on the next page when giving the reference info for the pieces covered, you can provide add sections for more than 1 song. While soundrop's service has unfortunately become really spotty, paying $0.99 per mechanical license is still a steal.
Oh cool! I legitimately did not know that was an option. Thank you! Now I have to go check so that I can keep my arrangement intact ;) As far as doing it anyway goes, I respect that! I've done plenty of things that aren't licensable on purpose, but mostly I'm just doing it for the art. Distributing to me is about making sure the composer gets paid for the work I love.
You do like mixing when two songs fit together, don't you? fyi my 3yo loves watching any of your videos with the otamatone (which he refers to as 'ghostie')

Do you think I should... *gasp* use the otamatone more often than just on April 1? I think it's a blast, but I always lose subs when I post it. But they're probably no fun anyway. My 4 year old absolutely loves it too, and he always requests that I play the songs "with the funny instrument." As a side note, there may be some otamatone shenanigans in the works with mklachu.... ;)
Yasssss! I always have so much fun with it. I wanted to do a whole arrangement of DANCING MAD on otamatone, but it was too ambitious for what I could pull off this year. haha
It starts, and I'm like "Wait. What's happening?" Nice mash-up; and nice, talented mixing-up of instruments. All makes for a fun ride.

I like the fake-out at the start lol, and great cover as a whole
I'm glad you liked it! It made me giggle putting it together, and it's such a great song. So much fun to play!
Really enjoying this one right now, relaxing but with good momentum!
Thanks! I'm glad!
Love love love this!! Kirby Air Ride is so incredibly underrated. This arrangement is also so creative!

City Trial is my favorite Air Ride mode! This is so good!
Yessss! I'm so glad you liked it!
Oh man, my sister and I used to play the heck out of this mode. Thanks for the memories!
That's great!! I love the way music can bring back so many hours of fun with friends in just a moment. Thanks for sharing :)
Awesome! And so great to see you last weekend at VGM CON!
Thanks so much Cierra! Great to see you too!! Missing everyone and all that energy already, for sure.

Love the stripped down part in the middle and then build back up
Yay! I tried to make sure things were varied a bit since the original orchestration really goes on a journey. I'm glad you liked it!!

Energetic and full of attitude!
I especially love that little turn with the 32nd notes on the viola in the front half, sooooo sassy!
AWW YEAAAAAH I did a cover of this recently on flute!!! so cool hearing that run at the beginning on violin!
and the return of Gerudo Valley right at the end I got goosebumps!!!
Aww haven't heard from you in a while! Did you go to vgmcon again last month? Glad you liked my take on it!!
