Hey, your garden is so beautiful and well taken care of, so as your animals. I’m sure it’s a lot of work but you’re crushing it! You look great as always even in overalls and your videos are so interesting. Hope you guys are doing great, we miss your company. Nadia and Dan 👋
Look at you…you got this ALL under control! (I can tell ‘cause you’re wearing earrings 🤣).. I used to buy eggs from a woman whose henhouse had NO ventilation. Stinko 😱 Bought healthy meat rabbits from a homesteader who had goats ….and a goat shed with NO ventilation. 🤮 We need to care for our animals and you are a shining example of that. Also admire that your children are learning animal care. Good work, Mama! Also note: you are NOT lazy - you have become more efficient thi! YAY YOU ! Thanks for your video, it was a pleasure to watch. Great point about sustainability. There are some roosters in my ‘hood and I’m sure I could procure “stud service”. Have not found a solution for my small herd of rabbits yet 🐇🐇 One buck and 2 does is not a sustainability model.
I would've thought the rabbits would multiply like crazy. We never got into rabbits because we do pigs and deer for our main meat sources. I bet it is delicious though. Thank you for your kind words:)
Hello from East Coast North Carolina 8b. Wow you really are educated in animal care and farming. Your very inspiring. We live in subdivision. It does not allow chicken. I able to grow plants and flowers. Thank you for sharing.
So glad you are enjoying the channel. Our previous home didn't allow any animals except horses so I feel your pain! I think it's great just to do what you can with gardening and you'll learn so much. If you ever decide to move more rural, you'll already have the knowledge you need:)
Thanks for sharing, I always get so much out of your videos. We are also considering pigs for the first time, which breed do you recommend for being around children?
We always get Berkshire pigs. My oldest son takes care of them and when they are babies, he will sit with them each day so they get used to him. I wouldn’t trust them with my girls or my youngest son when they are approaching maturity around 5 months. They get very big very fast, but that is why we like that breed. They are quick to grow, cheap to feed, and fill our freezers.
Good morning from south australia. I love love love your videos. Could you do a video about your watering schedule ? I'm always torn and worried about over and under watering and not producing well or effectively because of it. I know it can shock some vegetables and the with the seasons changing the length of growing times seems to be changing in Australia at least. So I want to be getting it right in the garden because a week of shock could mess the entire season up.
I always keep my newly transplanted plants watered everyday for about 3 days. After that, everything is on drip irrigation for 20 minutes a day. Sometimes we have to alter this and switch to every other day if I notice things are really wet. That probably doesn't help you with an exact schedule, but it really depends on how hot or humid or cloudy / rainy the weather is. You don't want them saturated, but if you stick your finger down into the soil, it should be slightly damp.
Looking great! Might have to come up and see it in person! You put my garden to shame, but I am only growing for me (one person). Still have to learn how to preserve. 😐 Maybe I will film my garden tour this morning. 🤔 You inspire me.❤
How long have you been growing your own food? Your homestead is beautiful and so impressive! I just came across your channel this morning and I’m really enjoying it
We just moved to our homestead and began prepping everything in the summer of 2021. The first season I actually grew a garden to feed our family was the summer of 2022. This has been a huge lifestyle change for us, but I hope to show people that if I can do it without any prior experience, then they can too!
Not sure that I’ll make the leap to getting a cow. If you’ve never had fresh goat milk, you are in for a surprise! Store bought goat milk is honestly disgusting. Fresh goat milk is sweeter and creamier than whole cows milk from the store with no goaty taste. So many of my friends often mistaken the goat milk for whole cows milk when we do taste tests. ( a lot of people don’t realize what “real” goat milk tastes like.
Great video! Thanks so much for walking us through your garden... it's so pretty!
Thank you! You're very welcome.

Your thoughts of the future is great... How you managed your time is amazing, tons of work😊
Thank you so much 😀

Thanks for sharing great content garden looks great
So glad you enjoyed it. It won't be long before it is looking like a jungle out here!
How do you treat cabbage worms?
You can spray with BT… It’s a natural bacteria that isn’t harmful to us but as the caterpillars eat it, it dissolves their digestive system.

Thank you!
Do you plan on getting a cow for milk and meat? I just don't care for goat milk myself.
