One of my favorite bits of storytelling happens when Batman is about to cut the live wire for the Jumbotron. The criminal he stopped just used the “I’m vengeance” line and Bruce realizes that he needs to be more in order to save Gotham. So when he cuts the wire and the camera travels back to show us the full sequence, the Jumbotron is actually saying “Change for Gotham.” Then Bruce (Vengeance) falls into the water and is reborn as Batman (hope). Amazing.
That's what I have been saying this whole time but people on the internet, just seem to be so much engulfed into the nostalgia of older batman movies, that they forget how good this movie and it's story was. Other batman movies had their own charm, where they played more as a superhero or a hero but this batman shows a story about a guy who lost his parents at a young age and instead of being able to grief in peace for them, he was put into the darkness of the sins of his father, leaving him confused that whether he should grief for him or detest him. And that turns him into THE BATMAN, a nocturnal animal fighting crime and his inner conflicts in his most comfort time, the darkness.
Ikr. It's ridiculous that people put the Nolan films on such a high pedestal that they immediately became bias when it comes to this. Also their blind hatred for Pattinson just cause of his Twilight films.
@@MetalGearBronya I also hate the critique that we never see him as Bruce Wayne because that's the point he's lost himself in being batman he doesn't care about being Bruce only batman
@I AM THE INCREDIBLE SHADOWS batman is a dark demon of darkness. born in darkness,he lives in darkness and he is darkness. he was,he is and he will always be darkness. BATMAN WILL ALWAYS FIGHT CRIME AND EVIL EVERYWHERE,NO MATTER WHEN OR WHERE👿🦇
This movie is really a masterpiece!!!! Especially in the story and cinematography!!!! Super hyped for the sequel and hoping it's even better than this movie!!!
I love the opening scene with the criminals looking into the darkness afraid that Batman will appear, it always reminds of the line from the Doctor Who episode Silence in the Library "Every shadow?" "No... but any shadow."
Damn Oscars, this movie deserved much more, Matt Reeves Direction, Greig Fraser Cinematography, Actors like Pattinson, Dano or Farrell, Michael Giacchino's Soundtrack, the whole to best movie, I'm not saying it should win everything yes or yes, but at least the nominations, right?
I love everything about this movie. The Batman being in 95% of this movie, the rain, the score, action, Batman making mistakes, the detective side, the villain, Gotham City, etc. I would love to see Hush in the next one. They should keep almost everything the same. 95% of the movie set at night with Batman, but set during the winter. Snow would be pretty awesome.
Can't believe how much effort does he puts on each of his videos. For a movie that's already about 3 hours long, watching it in 0.25x speed would mean something around 12 hours of watching the movie.
@@IronMan-vh1yo he watches it at 0.25 speed. Since 0.25 is one-fourth of one full second, each second is viewed for 4 times it's original duration. So you multiply each second by 4, each minute by 60×4(240seconds), each hour by 60×60×4, and since it's 3 hours, it turns out to be 60×60×3×4=43200 seconds. Then you convert these 43200 seconds into minutes by dividing them by 60 because 1min=60sec which gives up 720 mins. Then we convert these 720 mins into hours by dividing by 60 because 1 hour=60mins. 720÷60=12hours.Or you can directly multiply 3 by 4=12hours because every hour is being viewed at one fourth the orginal speed. You can do the math whichever way you understand it better.
Ahh amazing video, thank you - 02:34 you may have missed that the bullet actually marks the Helmet/ Mask and is there for the rest of the movie from that one hit! 02:34
This became my favorite Batman movie instantly. The "darkness"of it, Pattinson nailed it as both, Bruce and Batman, the cinematography, the riddles, especially the "URL" one, and Nirvana's 'Something's in the way' was perfect. Year 2 as "The Batman" so, he still makes mistakes and has so much to learn, just awesome. Can't wait for a sequel.
The detail on Oswald waddling isnt only when he's cuffed. I watched the movie 3 times when it was in theaters and he's shown to waddle a couple other times throughout the movie. 1st time is when he waddles down the stairs in the Iceberg lounge before Batman turns around and nearly decks him. The second time is when Batman and Catwoman discover the body of the missing girl, Oswald is waddling towards them as he's shooting (with one hand mind you)
And in the "44 below" scene when Falcone and him stop Selina and that other girl from arguing. I remember him saying "Let's keep it festive down here, alright?" - and then he waddled away. :))
Definitely my favourite Batman movie of all time. Never been a fan of the previous Batman movies, but I adored this one and seeing you make a video on it is awesome. Can’t wait for the sequel for this film.

Great video, these details really add even more credit to Matt Reeves for making a wonderful movie yet very different of all previous portrayings of the character. When you think about it, it's a little ironic that this movie is the first in which batman uses his cape as a fight move, like in arkham video games, while also being the first movie in which he doesn't fight the vilain physically, unlike the way it would end in video games. And that's probably the key to the film and why so many people doesn't give it its true value : batman is both violent, brutal, but also fights a big vilain with his brain instead of muscles for the first time. Batman also loses in this movie and some fans doesn't like it.
@@sashoto1001 It's definitely a bit more complicated comic book based movie to grasp, unlike what Marvel studios fed us last few years (I'm not saying it's bad, it's different) so yea, it's not for everyone, just like the Batman comic books. But that's not really what I came here to discuss.

Did you really need 0.25x speed to notice these things? Maybe the live chat comments, but everything else is fairly easy to catch with regular viewing. But I'm glad you pointed out the visual references to the comics.
But the one thing that they never get right with online comments or texts in film is that the spelling, grammar, and even punctuation is far too good! Seriously, in real life you seldom see that much spur of the moment text without tons of typos or just plain bad english.
5:32 The “green substance” he injects himself to get stronger is epinephrine, not Bane’s Venom lol It's literally written on the capsule. If you pause at the right time, you can see it
Interesting catches. I'm surprised you didn't mention how the shore walls were built with the renewal money, as it's mentioned in the mayoral debate. It brings Riddler's point full circle. Corrupt authorities made a shoddy sea wall that was easily brought down and almost drowned the people in the process.
This was the best Batman movie ever made, because for once in the character's lifetime, when they made this movie they actually got the genre right. People assume that because Batman has a fancy costume and a bunch of gadgets, he's a Superhero... but he's not a Superhero, and his stories are not super hero stories. Batman is the "World's Greatest Detective" plain and simple, a ground-up reimagining of literary classic characters like Sherlock Holmes combined with early Noir icons like The Shadow. The world and story of Batman is not one of learning a balance between great power and great responsibility, but rather that of a gritty crime thriller shrouded in mystery and danger, a dark and uncertain world where twisted minds prevail and most often the good guys don't win. A true Batman story is a detective story, not a super hero story, and this movie EXCELLED in delivering that in almost every conceivable regard. This felt more like the Batman from "The Long Halloween" or "The Killing Joke" more so than any other cinematic representation ever put to film, and in my opinion, is why they finally got it right. This IS Batman, from comic to camera.

@the canadian lad At 3:11 about the gotham project diary Its written year 2 That means maybe the second part shows how he became batman and started writing the diary
Maybe this is a stretch but someone named xXF1reBugXx commented in riddlers livestream saying “burn the whole thing down- take everyone with it! from the ashes a new beginning” it could possibly be Firefly
Watching this makes me appreciate The Batman even more, my dad and I talked about yeah it was a super long movie, but it was the best Batman movie we’ve both seen. I love it mostly, because they tapped into the detective side so well with Batman like they did in Arkham Origins as a video game. Most Batman movies give him the crime fighting and gadgets, but they always leave out his detective side... it’s almost as if they forgot the reason why The Caped Crusader is called “The World’s Greatest Detective”. I can’t wait for The Batman Part 2 and seeing Robert Pattinson going all detective with another foe, that’s what makes me excited and I mean I’m a fan of Mystery/Thrillers. Hopefully Brave and the Bold does the detective side as well, but I like when Batman does hand to hand with a foe with his combatant side as well.
You and your dad must be very blind he was a terrible detective lol unless youre just happy that aspect was there ? Id rather them not insult the worlds GREATEST detective by making him so stupid. How was he a good detective?
@@Tyler-pi1qm You have to remember this was his second year, it’s like with Arkham Origins Batman he was just getting into the role and wasn’t in the game very long. It’s like with any person really, the longer you learn the better you get. Before this Batman was probably fighting goons and drug addicts in the verse he was in, so Riddler was really the first challenge he had starting up in his second year. In Part 2 he probably would have more experience given from his time with Riddler and what he could expect.
When the cape stun was mentioned, my fist thought is Rob Pattinson played the Arkham games before going on set. Probably played it in costume at least once
5:32 its actually been confirmed that the drug he used isn't venom. A handbook of The Batman showcasing his gadgets says that the substance actually increases adrenaline. It could potentially be a prototype for bane's venom though
@Canadian Lad I think The green substance he ejected is the Adrealine and talking about Rage,He was already raged after seeing Catwoman beaten because he felt like he was child Bruce Wayne who can't to do nothing to save loved ones
Bro you work so much i can't even imagine sitting in one place for hrs and watching something so slow and boring. Man you are the best movie channel make a vlog how you do it.
2:00 also, one of the commenters is called xXF1reBugXx and he talks about burning things down. Fire bug is the name of multiple different super villains in the DC universe (its more like a title than a name)
I hope they pull some references from the " no man's land" story for the sequel. That scream at the end of the video jumpscared me while writing this lol.
Some might not realize this but Batman actually had an encounter with the strength enhancement drug Venom way before he encountered Bane. In fact there is a whole storyline where he locked himself in the Batcave alone for a whole month away from any of the Batfamily to quit it cold turkey, which is what I believe it is an actual allusion to. Not Bane alone, but to that story specifically, and we might actually see him rely on it more and more leading to it playing out in a similar way in sequel on the big screen.
I'm not a DC fan, I like the multiple animated series for the most part but their movies have just sucked with 2 exceptions. Besides that, great work on the high quality video!
The GAU-8 was created as a parallel program with the A-X (or Attack Experimental) competition that produced the A-10. The specification for the cannon was laid out in 1970,[4] with General Electric and Philco-Ford offering competing designs. Both of the A-X prototypes, the YA-10 and the Northrop YA-9, were designed to incorporate the weapon, although it was not available during the initial competition; the M61 Vulcan was used as a temporary replacement. Once completed, the entire GAU-8 assembly (correctly referred to as the A/A 49E-6 Gun System)[5] represents about 16% of the A-10 aircraft's unladen weight. Because the gun plays a significant role in maintaining the A-10's balance and center of gravity, a jack must be installed beneath the airplane's tail whenever the gun is removed for inspection in order to prevent the aircraft from tipping rearwards. GAU-8 closeup GAU-8 with barrel shroud visible The gun is mounted slightly to the port side with the active firing cannon barrel on the starboard side at the 9 o'clock position and on the aircraft's center line. The front landing gear is positioned to the starboard side.[6] The gun is loaded using Syn-Tech's linked tube carrier GFU-8/E 30 mm Ammunition Loading Assembly cart. This vehicle is unique to the A-10 and the GAU-8.[7] The A-10 with its GAU-8/A gun entered service in 1977. It was produced by General Electric, though General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products has been responsible for production and support since 1997 when the division was sold by Lockheed Martin to General Dynamics.[5]
Okay firstly you're a god bruv. Idk if it's joblessness or curiosity but you good actually give you that. Secondly, the details in this movie is just way too perfect
It's a very raw kinda movie, not for masses. That was a bold decition. Expecting too much revenue lead to JL 2017 and just trusting a vision and a man gave us JL 2021 and The Batman 2022. My lost my mind when I saw The Batman in laptop screen, why didn't I go to theater to experience it. One regrete to my life, yet.
The green substance has nothing to do with Bane other than maybe being a subtle easter egg. If you pause it at the right time, it's clearly labeled "Epinephrine" i.e. ADRENALINE. That's all it is. Now, Epinephrine isn't bright green, so I'm sure they made it that way as a reference to Bane, but Batman didn't inject himself with Venom
"Arkham Knight" - proceeds to show footage from Arkham City - It's like this guy just found out about Batman a week ago and skimmed a bunch of media to throw this video together

2:19 the original upload did not have the Arkham gameplay but Im glad he fixed it. CanadianLad is a rare RUclipsr who puts time into his work and creates quality over quantity. I hope he's doing okay.
~4:55 I love how the bottom bar shows the weather in Gotham, it shows rain/fog everywhere
Yeah, when I saw that cape swish attack scene, it too reminded me of the arkham trilogy. Loved that the director put this detail from the games.
He spins his cape exactly the way Batman does in the Batman video game, Arkham knight. Here’s a side by side comparison *shows Arkham city*
You put so Much effort into these videos!! Love it!!
Yes!
@the canadian lad
At 3:11 about the gotham project diary
Its written year 2
That means maybe the second part shows how he became batman and started writing the diary
Was about to type this but glad someone else caught it. Seems like the Canadian Lad missed that homework assignment this time.
It was adrenaline
4:20 I would add that we see batman many times during the day in this film though, even before the 'coming out of the light' stuff.
@Canadian Lad I think The green substance he ejected is the Adrealine and talking about Rage,He was already raged after seeing Catwoman beaten because he felt like he was child Bruce Wayne who can't to do nothing to save loved ones
Yeah, this "detail" was a let down for me. I believe it was Matt Reeves who came out and said it wasn't venom, it just adrenaline.
Bro you work so much i can't even imagine sitting in one place for hrs and watching something so slow and boring. Man you are the best movie channel make a vlog how you do it.
Flashing lights warnings at 2:28
2:00 also, one of the commenters is called xXF1reBugXx and he talks about burning things down. Fire bug is the name of multiple different super villains in the DC universe (its more like a title than a name)
I hope they pull some references from the " no man's land" story for the sequel.
That scream at the end of the video jumpscared me while writing this lol.
4:00 I have never been batman and I've worked a day shift for the last ten years and sunlight still hurts my eyes. Always has since I can remember.
8 minutes of breakdown greatness. Love the content Lad!
Thanks Canadian lad, your videos have helped me understand movies better(especially Marvel and D.C)
Lord Pj Supremacy 🗿
Pj Never Disappoints🙌🏼🤝🏻
I liked Aquaman but Batman Vs Superman and Wonder Woman 2 can burn alongside She-Hulk.
99 percent of the movie industry have been slacking off so much on the quality of movies lately that I'm confused on why they still have jobs.
GAU-8 closeup
GAU-8 with barrel shroud visible
The gun is mounted slightly to the port side with the active firing cannon barrel on the starboard side at the 9 o'clock position and on the aircraft's center line. The front landing gear is positioned to the starboard side.[6] The gun is loaded using Syn-Tech's linked tube carrier GFU-8/E 30 mm Ammunition Loading Assembly cart. This vehicle is unique to the A-10 and the GAU-8.[7]
The A-10 with its GAU-8/A gun entered service in 1977. It was produced by General Electric, though General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products has been responsible for production and support since 1997 when the division was sold by Lockheed Martin to General Dynamics.[5]
Finally!!!!!! I've been waiting a year for this, ONE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay firstly you're a god bruv. Idk if it's joblessness or curiosity but you good actually give you that.
Secondly, the details in this movie is just way too perfect
3:58 not even two years yet right?
Man i really love this movie. Can't wait for the part II.
wow.. I never realize I will rewatch this batman version again.. but canadian lad made me wanted to rewatch it agaian... and I will.. thank you bro...
2:24
A little correction. Bale Bat also does it in TDKR so not the first time the cape stun is used
3:41 he’s still not used to being something other than vampire
Batman was the best theater experience for me in 2022,it's just blew my mind, I didn't take my eyes of the screen once 😌🔥👏🏾
Saw this before you privated it.
2:22 used to not have the Arkham Night video.
i dont think you needed to watch the movie at quarter speed to notice the first one
A masterpiece! Can't wait to see more from Batman universe!! Thanks for the video
So proud of you man!.
You are more than a guy who watches only Marvel movies on slow motion and create contents.
2:58 lmao i didn't notice that
i was waiting for this video for so long!!!!
5:32 I think they confirm that it's adrenaline, not Venom.
I admire your efforts and hard work!
"Arkham Knight" - proceeds to show footage from Arkham City - It's like this guy just found out about Batman a week ago and skimmed a bunch of media to throw this video together
Would love to see a 0.25x on RRR by you. But it's just a request, this movie has made me as an Indian really proud that our cinema is being recognized around the world. Though it has received various awards, for me personally, you making a 0.25x or even a quick breakdown would be an award in itself.
Which movie ?
@@chocolatefudgebrowni3225 the movie which just won a golden globe.
P.S -please don't tell me you have no idea what that is☠️
@@chocolatefudgebrowni3225 It's called 'RRR', and believe me when I say this it's one of the best movies of last year. If you haven't watched it yet, do give it a try and I assure you that you'll love it.
@@harshittiwari29 i have seen it as a cool sponsor from the cinemas, there is better movies from 2022 but it destroys the stereotype of bad indian moves, a lil goofy but great cgi
is actaully really cool, still goofy with exaggerated force and throws and jumps, but best indian movie definitley
It's unbelievable that someone managed to top Christopher Nolan's Batman movies.
Isn't it the 2nd time he has watches The Batman at 0.25x speed. Because as far as i remember, he has already uploaded a video for the same which i am unable to find on his channel now. Also, many details were present in his previous video as well.
Nope. This is the only time. I did however take a few details from my older video which was a regular breakdown of the movie.
@@TheCanadianLad Yeah. Now i remember that was not a 0.25x video. I got a bit confused coz some details were already known to me through your video only. Thanks for the clarification.
I was not expecting a response from you on my comment. Thank You for that.😊
I love your videos and always wait for them whenever anything related to Marvel movie comes out on the internet.
Love your work ❤️ Keep it up.. 🙌
Bro i have to say u r the batman for movies...the greatest detective of cinema...kudos to your hardwork
Pj never disappoints
the Batman 2022: _Martha Wayne used to spend time on Arkham Hospital because of mental illness._
Also: _Martha Wayne in other universe instead of her and Thomas Wayne, Bruce got shot in the alley & turn her into Joker._
that was some nice detail
Great work Lad. I love your videos.
The green substance ain’t venom, it’s adrenaline (it’s stated on the script) good video pal, this is my favourite Batman movie ever
Pj never disappoint
Riddler taking pictures in the corner of the screen is such an amazing detail
Cool Video the Detail with the riddler at the Window is awesome..watched this Film so many times didnt notice 😅🤣cant wait to watch again.
Huge fan of your work Lad👍❤️
Actually, Keaton does a cape flip as he goes up the stairs to face off with Nicholson's Joker. Still, this has become my 2nd fave Batman movie as it hits the notes of an early notes of a "Batman Year:2" feel. Excellent film!! 💯%👍🏾👍🏾
Bro, no hate but ...half of the details have nothing to do with the speed, I mean just have a look at detail No:1 & the rest are already on subreddit moviedetails
Idk what to say.
Thanks Canadian Lad for bringing another high quality video on your channel, really appreciate the job you do!
I really like this Batman, a little less high-tech dependent and a lot more of a detective! Also, living in Liverpool, where most of the scenes were filmed, I was lucky enough to see a couple of times the crew doing their job, and also I really feel close to that Gotham since I could recognise a lot of the places and buildings. Finally, I think Pattinson did an incredible job with this character, really good performance. Can't wait for the second part of this story.
I watched this video in 0.25x speed and found this detail
This video is re-uploaded due to a editing mistake of not including Batman game clip at 2:20
Thought that it was re-uploaded cuz I got 2 notifications
MOM THE CANADIAN LAD JUST UPLOADED ANOTHER VIDEO!
Wow, didn't expect it to be short😂
Just realized how u joined some of the clips from ur previous breakdown
I have a question that will u be making a video of 0.25x of wakanda forever btw love your video from love from india🥰😍
Next! :)
This take on batman is something else, can't wait for it's upcoming stories
I'm still wondering, what did Batman inject to his body near the end of the movie?
To save cat woman
Either Adrenaline or Venom.
@@consciousworld9161 What did batman inject in his body?
*"To save catwoman"* DAFUQ?
@@RentFreeInsideYourDamnHead adrenaline booster or some kind of venom
You had to watch at .25x speed to discovery the vandal at the start was frightened by the Bat signal? Dude....
Ikr I'm starting to think he made this video to generate a couple thousand views for relevancy
This is so weird. I was literally just thinking an hour ago about how I hope The Canadian Lad does The Batman in 0.25x speed and then I open RUclips and here it is!
I never noticed the corrilation between the batman movie and the video game adaptations, of how the cape was used in the GCP. Thats a cool find
I watched this video at 25x and didn't learn anything
Let’s goooo I’ve been waiting my guy, love you Lad
im proud to say i watched it before the reupload
