This is great, I Learnt how to do something I will definitely try. I like to keep my chain well oiled and clean and this seems like an excellent way to keep the chain in excellent condition.
I will never go back to an oiled chain ever again. When I’m cleaning my bike I can literally scrub the chain and go straight to scrubbing the brake discs. Haven’t had any sort of contamination yet 😊
Hello everybody :) A cheap and simple rice-cooker is ok to liquefy the wax? how much chain treatment can be done before having to put in new wax? Has anyone compared the life of their chain between standard oil lubrication versus this wax technique, if so what is the verdict? with this wax technique, are the gear shifts as smooth, precise, silent as with a quality oil? Best regards.
Can use a rice cooker but watch the temperature. They get very hot. Can use it many times. Maybe change it every year possibly? Check out the video link in the description for more detailed info about chain longevity.
@@darwinmtblyf3698 thank you for reply. I will try soon. Maybe instead of using rice cooker i will use an old pot on the induction hob, like this i can have regulation of the heating power. At the moment i use squirt lube it's a ready wax in bottle i am happy with the product but i think the wax will go more inside the roller of chain using soaking method.
I’ve found the Teflon powder takes about 10 minutes to settle on the bottom. But if you have it in suspension long enough then it works it’s way in with the wax.
I have upgraded the chains now so that they are treated to prevent rusting. As far as I know, it’s a process in production that they do. You can also get a tiny spray of wd40 into a microfiber cloth and run it over your chain after cleaning very lightly and that will get rid of any water that might sit on your chain. I’m loving the chain wax system 😊
The wax is the lubricant. Wax is actually one of the best bike chain lubricants you can get. When you add another product like PTFE which is a dry lubricant as well then you get a super lubricant and the wax acts as sort of a bonding agent.
You say your chain lasted 7 months. You need to say how many klms. The bike could have gone unused for 7 months. Also your whole video is a copy of Oz Cycle's videos. Why not do someting different rather than plagiarise Oz. Very disappointing!!!
THANK YOU OZ CYCLE!
It’s good stuff eh haha. I’ve now gone to a store bought one that is ever so slightly better however the parafin ptfe one is still amazing 😊

Thanks from Bucharest România 🇧🇪
I have a new SRAM RED AXS chain bathing in hot paraffin wax and PTFE powder while watching your video.
Great vid, really informative
Thanks 😊 I’m going to be doing more videos like this. I have a new bike on the way so going to be doing a setup video

Direct from OZ CYCLE !
Is 50 gram teflon not to much?
I read on some internetsites they say to add 5 gram to 500 gram paraffine
50 has worked well for me. You can use straight parafin but it doesn’t work as well
Do you find that the teflon powder sinks to the bottom in a few minutes if you don't stir?
I’ve found the Teflon powder takes about 10 minutes to settle on the bottom. But if you have it in suspension long enough then it works it’s way in with the wax.
I live in south africa , where can I get hold of ptfe powder.
I’ve just been buying it off eBay. Make sure to get the 1.6 micron.
I thought you were going to cook us a slow cook curry while the chain was degreasing!!! lol
Next time for sure 😂
Does either your chain or rear cassette rust with this method?

Dry lubricant or oil is needed?
