Thanks for the review! I’ve been trying to decide between this one and Fluval’s 07 series equivalent! Fluval seems to have easier media basket management, but... Oase has the onboard heater, and, the ability to pull out only the prefilter! ... so many choices!
Thanks for producing this video to simplify the use of this filter. I'm currently saving up to buy an Oase 250. Just two questions: 1. When pushing the pump button to fill the filter, do I need to turn the filter on, or can the water be pumped when filter is off? 2. With the pre-filter installed, how often would I need to clean the filter media and do a strip clean of the filter?
Thanks for watching. Push the primer button when power is off to avoid damage to impeller and pump. I clean the main filter contents around 4-6 months, rinse everything in water removed from your aquarium. Clean pre filter sponges in tap water every week.

Hi Geordie,I've recently purchased a biomaster thermo 850 for my 200l aquarium, obviously it comes with a 400w heater, the question is can I buy a 200 w heater and put it into the 850,or will the oversized 400 w be ok to use, thanks.👍
Hi Geordie, great video just one quick question. Where you have the inlet and outlet tubes coming over and into the tank, does this enable the lid of the aquarium to close correctly or do you have to make adjustments, sorry if it’s a stupid question but new to this and looking to purchase this filter system thanks
Hi there, no such thing as a stupid question. Depends on the lid, I used to run one of these filters on a juwel rio 240, in/outlet sat on the back cut outs but lid didn't sit totally flush but was fine👍
Very informative video - much appreciated. One question: I'm considering getting the Biomaster Thermo 250 but don't think the supplied 150 Watt heater would be sufficient for my needs. I see the HeatUp 200W heater has the same dimensions as the 150W so am I right in thinking I could swap out the smaller heater for the bigger one? In fact could I even fit their 250W heater within the Biomaster 250 Thermo canister? Okay, that was two questions.
Hey, thankyou, glad you found the video helpful, I've never tried this with the heaters so to be on the safe side I would email Oase's customer care team just to ensure it would be OK to swap out the heaters.
In answer to my own question, Oase customer support have confirmed that I can change the heater on the Thermo 250 model with their 200W heater but not the 250W heater as it would protrude from the casing. At least I would be able to get the same heat output from the Thermo 250 as the Thermo 350 reviewed here.
