    Thanks for the review! I’ve been trying to decide between this one and Fluval’s 07 series equivalent! Fluval seems to have easier media basket management, but... Oase has the onboard heater, and, the ability to pull out only the prefilter! ... so many choices!

    Thanks for producing this video to simplify the use of this filter. I'm currently saving up to buy an Oase 250. Just two questions:
    1. When pushing the pump button to fill the filter, do I need to turn the filter on, or can the water be pumped when filter is off?
    2. With the pre-filter installed, how often would I need to clean the filter media and do a strip clean of the filter?

    • @GEORDIESCAPER
      @GEORDIESCAPER  Год назад +2

      Thanks for watching.
      Push the primer button when power is off to avoid damage to impeller and pump.
      I clean the main filter contents around 4-6 months, rinse everything in water removed from your aquarium. Clean pre filter sponges in tap water every week.

I do have a question, I also bought glass lilypipes, do you just carefully push them onto the tubing? How do you change the tubing to clear for the lilypipes? @GEORDIESCAPER  3 года назад +2

      Thankyou so much Lisa. You can buy clear hosing from:
      www.horizonaquatics.co.uk/
      Just be gentle when pushing on to glasswear, you can dip the hosing into boiling water to make it easier to work with or use a hair dryer on the end of the hosing. To take glass wear off for cleaning etc gently push the hosing up to break air seal and gently slide it off. Hope this makes sense, I have this planned for a future video.

I guess the 850 would be even better in all regards but I felt it would be unnecessarily overkill ......and plus the filter would have barely fitted into my cabinet such is its size ! How do you adjust the flow?

      Hi there,
      if you're using the inlet/outlet set provides you'll see a blue dial on them, simply use a coin or similar to turn to adjust flow. If you look closely you will see markings that show + & -
      Another way is to adjust the lever that opens and locks the flow nozzles on the actual canister although I do try and keep the flow at it's highest if possible.
      Hope this helps.
