    Born and raised in Milwaukee for the first 29 years of my life. Moved further North and absolutely wonderful when you have kids. Been other places, but morals and values have seemed more traditional than many other states. I prefer the instilled hard-working ethics many Wisconsinites share.

      @chrissiamoffoxcitiesrealtor I still visit monthly to visit family and friends. Plus, kids obtain haircuts. Unfortunately, no one lines their hair as efficiently as barbers in the city. Lol

      We did a daughter-family visit and fell in love with who and what we saw. Our kids are grown adults scattered living with two living near/in Janesville….we want to buy a house and live in a traditional town with friendly people. I’m emotionally ready and in need to live out our life in a nice place. Suggestions are welcomed.😊

      @smhprice3441 I would suggest smaller towns North of Milwaukee. Richfield, Jackson, and West Bend are nice. They are quiet and family oriented with a mixture of low to upper middle class average working Americans. Bonus they are far enough off a major freeway crime tends to be less or nonexistent.

We saw the birds and the beautifulness and met nice traditional vibed people….we are literally nice people in the wrong place. We are searching real estate for sale and crossing our fingers.

    Glad you mentioned the winter weather. Winter is long and consistently cold and snowy. In my experience, most people who live in WI, grew up here. It's a tough climate for people from warmer climates to adapt to. And, having lived around the country, WI, isn't any more friendly than anywhere else. The difference is often that people who are used to big cities are very nice, but rural folks are more laid back and friendlier.

    GREAT VID! SE Wisconsin is like its own state, in many ways. Expect a lot of Illinois (especially Chicagoland) expats, including their native habits and dispositions. "Wisconsin nice" as discussed in the vid, is more widespread - and pronounced - when you get to areas like Fox River Valley (especially Oshkosh).

    As a former native of WI, I must disagree with you over the cost of living & expense. The taxes in WI are astronomical in comparison to other red states in the mid-west. That includes especially property (real estate) taxes, but also income tax, etc..

    • @wheretolivewisconsin
      @wheretolivewisconsin  6 месяцев назад

      Wisconsin is ranked 9 in property taxes in the US, with home prices 120k below national average still a economic fit. WI income taxes are in the top 25 in US. Wisconsin's infastructure, roads, schools benefit

      Ashland is building a 2.4 million dollar ore dock walkway instead of fixing roads.
      Hwy 13 has been seal coated and patched twice after.
      Watertown is building all kinds of cosmic crap instead of fixing roads.
      Milwaukee does tons on cosmetic crap instead of roads.
      Wausau is broke but put in metal birds in rice patties in mediums.

    What Wisconsin calls a lake, Minnesota calls a pond, I'm just saying...

    • @Botoburst
      @Botoburst 8 месяцев назад +1

      Wisconsin actually has more water area. 20 percent, because of Lake Michigan. Even more shoreline on Lake Superior if the Apostle Islands are included. I know you're talking about we count 5 acre 'ponds' as lakes, I think if we used MN 10 acres we got like 1000 inland lakes. Not to mention we have twice the amount of river and stream miles, just saying.
