Great project Troy. I had the same problem on acrylic. They are just so many honeycomb in the crumb tray. I fixing to try to make another crumb tray that doesn't have a lot of points where the laser can hit the material you are using. I'll send u a pic when its finished. Take Care.

Hello Troy, Your videos are very instructive, thank you so much for taking the time. I do have a few questions. I am thinking of investing in that machine. 1, Are you still using the basic one? I am looking into making acrylic soap stamps (usually 3mm deep engravement in acrylic (unless you could suggest another material could be possible) and also rubber stamps to print on fabrics & paper. You think this is possible to do so? Also I would ove to engrave directly ...soaps. Mind trying if its doable with the machine and see how deep it can engrave?... Would love talking about it with you before buying. Let me know if possible :) please flag me for the answer, I don't know if I will receive any notifications...

That was fascinating! Have you done (or will you be doing) any laser-cut jewelry project out of Ultrasuede (*not* leather)?
Honestly, I haven't heard of ultrasuede, but I will do some research on it. Thanks for the suggestion.
I was curious to know, does your mirrored acrylic stick to the sheet once cut where you have to kindof push it out or does it just fall right out?
i use 160 speed full power and 150 speed full power when I have small cut out pieces because they do stick to the sheet.

Do all GF's have this option to do outline metal? I want to create my own designs, so I need a Glowforge that can cut a very thin metal sheet.

The glowforge is not powerful enough to cut metal.

I believe so if used with some metal marking spray. I haven't got around to testing it myself, but video coming soon.

I buy locally from a plastic supply and online. Link to where I brought the mirror gold acrylic is in the description.
Can it cut or engrave gold and silver?
No it can't cut gold or silver. You can engrave on stainless steel using laser marking spray. Wait till 12/5/21 haha
