I remember in 2013 there was a 51 car with target on it. Didn’t pay attention to that.
2014 Juan Pablo Montoya was gone from the 42 and came Larson. At the time my favorites were still there. Once they’ve all but gone, my liking for Kyle Larson grew and reached a peak in 2019.
Then he got suspended in 2020. I was devastated, didn’t disavow Larson but racing had to continue.
    Larson comes back in 2021.
I said he’d either race for SHR or HMS. He went with HMS. Then I stated he’d WIN the Championship. Not close, not top 16, WIN. Only thing I didn’t predict was his wins, because every champion over the last 10 years has had 5 wins. But Larson getting 10, 11 if the all Star is included, Larson had an amazing performance. Good on him, and he is doing well in 2022. A few DNFs but consistently in the top15

I’d say some of both. Jimmie wasn’t his old self, but Hendrick was also overall worse the last few years. I’d say mostly driver, but definitely some car. While I don’t think Johnson would’ve done like Larson, I do think Johnson would’ve been better this year than he did his last few. One of the most dominant and impressive seasons I've seen in my 20+ seasons as a fan. It's mind-blowing to think he easily could've eclipsed Gordon's 13 win season in '98 had a few races gone Kyle's way. Pocono 1 comes to mind.
Kyle just proved how if he had the right equipment and a team who clicked, he could rock the NASCAR world. Honestly didn't think of him as a road course driver, but he proved me wrong there!

i haven't watched a lot of NASCAR on TV, and don't follow it as closely as I once did. But I was at Sonoma this year, working as a corner marshal. Larson was on fire that weekend; he only ever lost the lead on pit stops and managed to drive his way back to the lead - in one case from 23rd place - on a track that is notoriously difficult to pass on. At that point, I once again had a favorite driver in Cup.
Congrats, Kyle. You absolutely deserve to be champ this year.

    He also won the:
    - 2021 Chili Bowl in January (one of the more prestigious midget races)
    - 410 Sprint Knoxville Nationals title (maybe the most prestigious 410 World of Outlaws race)
Another big 410 race in the Kings Royal crown

I never lost hope that Kyle would find his way back to NASCAR. I'm not gonna defend his action from 2020. Crime fit the punishment? Yes. That doesn't change the fact that one word even though it was offensive should ever judge anyone for who they are. Depending on the person they should get another chance to redeem themselves. Kyle is one of them. I felt terrible for what happen, but I stood by him as a fan. Mistake was made and can't be undone, but learn from it is what can be done and he did that and more. Maybe it was meant to be. Destiny can do odd things in life that can't be explained. What Kyle has done this year is remarkable. Not just the 10 wins and the championship, but restoring his name and became a new Kyle Larson a more humbled Kyle Larson. Its the old say "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" and he came back better and stronger then ever. He has right the wrong, got a second chance and maxed it to the fullest! Sweet Redemption baby! Way to go Kyle.

Keep his mouth shut.People like that is so very hard to beat if they got just a little talent & A little luck & good crew. And he did this without 1 question what so ever. Who is the best driver & team in 2021. Nobody could touch him unless. He tried but Poor Tony Stewart racing. Poor Tony still kicking himself. Wrong time Wrong place. But Tony did wanted him. I am so Proud of Kyle. He did this with class, No give me's. I love in the race who came in last place. Racing got good days & bad days. Bad luck go with good luck. Bad days let it roll off you just like the rain. But good sportsmanship that there will always show your & your true love of the sport. True lovers of the sport understand. Some people can't understand that. Next weekend that same person or team might save you or give you the 1 part or just the help for the need to make the show free of charge. Why some can't understand that?,
