As a Harvick fan, I’ve got zero issues with this. Chase wins the title under the original 10-race chase format too. Dude took up Jimmie’s mantle and became a straight baller during the final 10 races. Huge props to the man.
@@easyenetwork2023 Yes on full-season, no on 10-race format. Someone on Reddit did the calculations for every Chase/Playoff format from '04 to '20, and the highest Harvick would've been is 3rd. 5th under most formats. And yeah, he would've won under the full-season, but I don't put too much into that. I've watched since '05, so I don't look at everything through that lens.

I laugh when people say Elliott deserved this championship but Logano doesn't deserve his. Both had a similar season. Both were consistently top 5 and top 10 all year. Only difference is Logano only got 3 wins compared to Elliotts 5.
Why do you laugh? It's probably a fair statement. Truex, Busch and Harvick all had better seasons than Logano. Plus Joey basically had to dump a guy to get into the championship round.
I swear, Chase Elliott is set up to have an even better season in 2020. It's not just because there will be six road courses on the schedule, but because a lot of Chase's sub-10th place finishes were because of bad luck. For three races in a row starting at Indianapolis, he had a top five car and made his final pit stop early. The pit stop put him a lap down and it would've put him in an advantageous position if it wasn't for an ill timed caution. He finished anywhere from 11th to 23rd in all of those races when he should've gotten top five finishes every time. Twice he crashed late at Darlington and once he crashed late at Bristol when it looked like he had a race winning car. If it hadn't been for all of those incidents, he may have contended with Kevin Harvick for the best driver of the whole 2020 season.
That was quick. I will also never look at NASCAR 2005 Chase for the Cup name again, as you can tell by the title it says “Chase for the Cup” and Chase finally got the cup.

We may very well criticise the most random champion system in all of motorsport. Not because we hate NASCAR but because we love it, and we want it to thrive. And with a 'championship' like this, those who seek cheap entertainment may be pleased, those who love racing are alienated.
@@X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X yeah your thinking too much about it... I've been racing and been around it since I was a kid and don't mind the move. Just enjoy the races each week man

I do greatly look forward to the Daytona 500 and a few select (most short track) races I care about - even though NASCAR does its best to spoil them by stage racing.
However, me being interested in a championship is a thing of the past.
I've missed most of the season. Why did they have those glowing lights at the rear, at the bristol night race?
They tried underglow for the all star race
Ok, thanks
Like father like son, so pleased for the kid :)

Championship Seasons Jeff Gordon 1998
How is winning multiple races and scoring a bunch of top tens and top fives even solid? I know he was not as dynamic as say Kyle Busch, but he was not that bad before this year. Though he only had 6 wins before this season in 4 years total.
He was the underdog until race 35 of 36
