    Just an FYI, Amazon has tableware for 2 conveniently packed in a round pack. 2 cups.2 plates.2 bowls and 2 sets of silverware and then they also have cookware in a backpack type bag. Major space savers too!!!!

    Hey Derek, nice setup. I used to have a regular Caravan, and loved its comfort, fuel economy and quiet, smooth reliability. It was bliss! Glad to see the simplicity, organization and easy cleanup of your kitchen upgrade. All key to successful vanlife. Happy trails! ^5 💖

    I bought an oil sprayer, it's a glass bottle with a pump on the end $10, and can put liquid oil in it, before I was wasting oil, and canned oil was more expensive for me.i use olive oil, but want to try almond oil or avocado oil. I like your setup. Happy travels.

    2 inch magnet hooks and a tarp on top of your rear door with 2 tarp poles, lines and peges...instant awning over the back door when open. I do it on my Sienna. They stick tenaciously to metal car bodies....

    With the hatch in the open position, keep in mind you can hang with magnets or clippees a shower curtain from the Dollar Tree to act as a wind break, and off the end from one side to the other hang a clothes line for air drying hand washed clothes. Looking good, so happy you have designed a process that works for you. THANK YOU FOR SHARING>

    Damn! That’s brilliant!!
    This is possibly the sort of thing that I would’ve wanted to set up in my Prius if we’d continued to camp in it and hadn’t got the van.
    Mind you, the hatchback lifted up to only stick out the tiniest bit further than the back bumper, so that was a constant frustration for me. I spent so many nights lying awake trying to figure out the best way to give me more shelter under that short hatchback!

      Thank you! It's super functional. Metro areas are always tricky because of how many people are around and the awkwardness that may ensue. If it's daylight still, I'll cook in public maybe at a park or public parking area, but once it gets dark I try to avoid it. Thanks for watching!

    • @travelingmcgee
      @travelingmcgee  11 месяцев назад +3

      No I get it, it's understandable and definitely not as glamorous as some make it seem. And on those rainy or windy days, I'll get take out or eat a meal that is cold, like hummus or cheese and crackers. But it's definitely not an everyday event, you just have to adapt with the weather and cook accordingly. Thank you for watching the video 🙂

    • @travelingmcgee

      I suppose I could if I really wanted to, but for safety reasons, I think it would prove to be very much a struggle for me to cook from inside the van. I would need to sit on my bed and that would be a tight squeeze for me. Thank you for watching and for the question!

    Quality, yes.
    But still overpriced.
    I have a bunch of thermoses. One of the best is, strangely enough, Ozark Trails (½ gallon). Quality, durability, design, aesthetics, feel, functionality, durability, effectiveness - all equal to or better than more expensive thermoses costing more than twice as much.
