The rice cooker is a gem. You can actually use it as a crockpot too. Just let it cook up, then when it goes to the heating option, let it sit and cook. I threw eggs and vegetables on top of the rice, and everything was cooked together. I have to check this out, it's pretty brilliant actually. 😍
OR, you could buy the Instant Pot Mini that uses 500 Watts of power & make boiled eggs & cook rice plus pressure cook beans or soups, etc. It has a saute' button so you can saute onions or peppers or meat before adding other ingredients for soups and stews. Since it cooks under pressure it cooks quickly. I like to pressure red potatoes and sweet potatoes also. The awesome thing is, it uses 500 watts to bring up to pressure then goes off only to come on occasionally to keep it at pressure, so it is a real energy saver. I love it and use it with my 600 watt power station. You did a great job with your video!

the rice cooker is a game changer, let me know how you like it! its cheap, filling, and with the cooker I don't have to watch over it like I would on my gas stove. geez, never thought I'd had strong feelings over a rice cooker 😆
Thank you for doing this - I don’t care to use gas either, so I really enjoyed learning how much power was used. A few things that I do with the rice steamer that you might like to try - you mentioned breakfast burritos - you can buy the little packets of flavored rice (Spanish or yellow saffron rice, etc) and cook those in the rice cooker, if you want something different than white rice. Also, I have made (dry) lentils and rice in the rice cooker, and also, rice with veggies thrown on top. Cooks the veggies very well with the rice.
I cook small red and gold potatoes in my small rice cooker. I’ve done russets as well and carrots once I’ve cup them up into a manageable size. Even made beef barley soup although it was just a tad tricky.

Try a small rice cooker. I use mine for eggs of all kinds as well as rice, soups, heating things up, boiling potatoes, and macaroni. Can even cook a mini pizza if you "cook" it 3 times with the lid on. You can also bake a cake. I did that for my grandson's birthday. Try it, you'll definitely like it.

I have a 4 cup rice cooker that uses 300 W. I usually use a regular mug for measuring. 1/2 cup of whole grain rice to 1 cup of water. You can cook a lot more than rice in it. I usually put a couple of chicken drumsticks or thighs or even a pork chop on the bottom, then rice and water, salt and margarine (or butter), then frozen vegetables on top. In 45 minutes, I have a complete dinner with leftovers for breakfast, that I cook in a frypan with eggs. I have a butane stove for cooking and have just purchased a 12 V food warmer that looks like a lunch pail. It's great for warming up leftovers or a tin of chunky soup. It will bake, too, while you're driving, but takes twice the time listed on the package, if cooking frozen or packaged food. Oh, you really shouldn't drain your Jackery. Do find your charging cord. :) Other things under 500 watts are a countertop ice maker and a bread maker, both 300 watts. I also have a SodaStream, that doesn't require power, just a C02 canister, water for the bottle, and either pop syrup or juice squirts to make the soda pop. I don't put the syrup or flavouring in the bottle, too much washing up. I put it in my tall mug, then add the soda water. Jon in rural BC, Canada
Just a suggestion for you; try using the Wolfgang Puck 1.5 rice cooker. It uses only 200 watts/hour and you can cook entire meals using it. Do you think your set up is possible with a 1000 watt jackery? Also what do you mean have a converter installed? What is a converter and how do I have it installed? Like connected to the jackery?
I am so loving this go girl go thank you so much I'm going to go purchase one of those rice cooker you have a very beautiful spirit about yourself God bless💯🐞🍹
Rice is wonderful you can get a shower and if that place has a plug you can get rice cooked with the timing of your shower. You can carry cooking in your bag try using insulated pouches to keep things safe.
I have the dash egg cooker in my nyc apartment. It’s great for all the ehh styles. A bonus is that the omelette is shaped perfectly for an egg sandwich
I would try making a cup cake in it. You can get them at Walmart come with maybe 5 in a box and you add water, put in microwave. Definitely think it could work in this.
I definitely learned quickly that 1000w is the standard, and you need a little over that just to be safe. While they have things like small heaters, they still run around 400w, and cooking appliances definitely get closer to the 800-1000w range.
Discovered this video, this is the same challenge I’ve been giving myself. As I’m too cheap to want to get propane bottles or use high watt ways to cook. Thanks for sharing. (New fan of your channel)
If you have two solar power stations with cigarette lighter ports you can use the green looking 12 volt 100 watt rice cooker on Am*zon with the cat face on the side to cook rice and lentils at the same time. These cookers have a voltage range between 12 and 24 volts so they can be directly wired to solar panels too (I got the idea from a video) or used in a car. They have fuses to protect them and come with an extra one. They come with a scoop, large spoon, and a stainless steel steamer bowl that fits in the top to steam other foods as the rice, oatmeal, cream of wheat, pasta, instant grits, eggs, etc cooks. These can cook one dry cup of rice. Mine uses 20% of my 290 watt hour Golabs power station battery to cook rice and it takes about 30 minutes, just a bit longer than normal. I hope to do most of my cooking from solar or an Instapot style pressure cooker to save on my electric bill. I also bought a RoadPro 165 watt fryer type pan. I plan to wire it up directly to a 190 watt solar panel and see if it works. You can also buy a cheap 12 volt 120 watt immersion water heater to heat water in cups or bowls. I`ve made noodles and boiled eggs in cups this way. Some power stations won`t work with 120 watt 12 volt devices. I think the cig port has to be at least 10 amps.
I live in hurricane country and I use my truck for cooking after a storm. I hook up a 1500w pure sine wave inverter (around $160 on Ebay) to the truck starter battery and I have the engine running which provides power from the alternator. Then I can run my microwave oven using the inverter. I also have an induction cooker ($20-$60 on Ebay) and the inverter can also run the induction cooker.
You don't actually have to cook oatmeal, just add hot water and let it sit awhile. I make mine mixed with raisin bran cereal, dry skim milk powder and Splenda (or honey). :) The only difference between regular oats, which I use, and instant oats is the size. That's what makes it quicker to make. I'm too lazy to grind it up, so I just let it sit. Jon in rural BC, Canada

You cook a lot more in your van than I do. And we have a Winnebago Travato. But I don’t cook. I either pre-make rice, freeze it into two portion baggies, and put it in our little freezer or I use boil in bag rice. But I do love Dash products. I can save you some money and tell you that the little pie maker is a waste. The top burns and gets black while the bottom crust is still rubbery and raw. I have not been able to figure out a way to get around that. I suppose I could cook it longer on the bottom, add the crust halfway through, but it’s a pie. You need to be able to crimp the crusts together. How do you do that in a little hot Dash product. I also got the little ice cream maker. I suppose in a pinch you could call it ice cream but not really. But you’re in a van and like all of those ice cream makers, you need to pre-freeze the inner or container. You wouldn’t have a freezer in a van; we have an actual freezer in our Travato G. The little Bundt maker works pretty well. I buy a box of cake mix and split it into three portions. That works out well because (at least with the ones I buy), they call for three eggs. Eggs are one of those ingredients that it’s hard to use a portion of. So 1/3 of a box of mixed with one egg and whatever the liquid ingredients are works well. I always get the Apple spice cake mix. You can get two or three little baby bundts out of that. I only get two because I eat so much of the raw mix while I’m making them. The problem is that the cakes have to be baked sequentially and that takes some time and paying attention to make sure they don’t burn. And as soon as they come out of the maker I roll the tops around in a little bit of sugar in lieu of frosting.
I love my mini and dash appliances. They only use minimal power, provide what I want quickly and are a ton of fun. Between these and 12 volt products, I'm set.
Look for the mini Nesco electric skillet. Also the My Mini one slice bread/bagel toaster. They are both under 500 watts. I'm running a 1200 watt inverter straight of of my batteries in a semi truck. If you have a little more power, the 6 quart Instant Pot is a must have.

I just came across this video... OMG!! I actually used the regular Dash Egg Cooker for my Dad for several years... love it! But these minis are a wonderful surprise to know about when I get to hit the road in the next few weeks.
Thank you!! ✌🕊

Ok only 3.29 min in and I’ve laughed several times, your funny. Thanks for this post clever chica. I appreciate you sharing these low wattage options, with your natural clever witty delivery.
Use chicken broth paste or poweder..much flavor....in the water..
I just found your channel and I love your energy! Also great tips! I am moving into my van this year and I am SO PSYCHED!!!! I can't wait to embrace the road fully this year once the van is finished. blessings!
As a truck driver I will get those cooking essentials❤
Great ideas. Ordered and just rcvd my egg cooker! Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow! Thxs!
No way! Please tell me how it goes, I hope you enjoy that little contraption!
I am with you on the hard-all-the-way-through yolks! As soon as you said this, I was like "Finally, someone who understands!" 🥚🤗 And what an excellent vid! I just got a mini waffle maker for home and was wondering if it would work in my van. Also, you're super entertaining! 😃 Happy travels! 🚐💨
I use my griddle for grill cheese (I use rye bread and cut it in half to fit. I also make eggs and vegetables or mushrooms. Just put the mushrooms or veggies for a minute or two first. The great thing other then the lower power consumption is it’s a great size to store.
So glad someone with a jackery could test it out. I have the Dash, egg, waffle, and pancake one.
I have had my little egg cooker forever and several of my lady subscribers have purchased one and they love theirs too! It's so easy to make deviled eggs, the easiest peeling hard-boiled eggs ever! I got mine from Amazon for the same price, dash appliances are so inexpensive! I want to try their larger waffle maker to see if I can use it in the van! Great video sweetie You're such a clutz 💜 just like me 🤣🤣
Seriously expanding the realm of mobile cooking. Awesome video!!
Thank you for showing 👍I’m also getting a Jackery with 500 Watts end of the year when I get my electric car (a Skoda Enyaq). You sing incredibly well ❣️I only want a small stove with a high-rimmed pan. Have a great day 🍀
Amazing! And honestly, good on you for getting an electric car, especially in these times- I wish I had one!
@@madisonraetogo you could one day, too, actually they’re not much more expensive than other cars, well at least here in Germany, because we get support from the state when we buy an electric car. Have a great day 👋
Omg I love that ball of moisture 😂 I’m so gross but it’s probably my favorite part. I love soft boiled for that reason cuz runny yolk is my favorite
You’re so energetic, and fun to watch! I love the Dash products. They add cuteness to cooking! LOL! So easy to use and the non stick quality lasts for a long time. Blessings and much success and happy travels. Thanks for great video’s too!😊
Awww thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
1st time watching your channel. You are quite funny. I'll go check out more of your videos.
i have the rice maker, I cook eggs in it, I make pizza in it, pasta, fish, hamburgers, soup, all kinds of stuff. I have 3, one in my camper, one in my house, and one at the office. the rice maker does everything that the other 2 can do.
I got a good laugh with the super tiny griddle! Thanks for sharing the egg cooker, great find!
thanks! yes, these little guys are great! I'll be sure to share anything else I find with low wattage 😎😎
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I needed to see what type of appliances could work with the Jackery batteries!
Nice but would like to know the wattage of the fryer thingy. Have fun traveling and stay safe.
Yes! What kind of wattage did the Dash mini griddle end up using?
Search for CHAFFEL recipes on you tube. Chaffel is cheese+waffle. You will be blown away.
I bought itaki pro. It's an electric lunchbox. It can cook two things at the same time. So I make rice and stew. It can cook even meat!
Laughed out loud at your mad flipping skills on the griddle. Lol
Thank you so much for that. I will definitely order all three. 😁🌺
I have a mymini 260 watts, a dash waffle 240 watts and i got a mini crockpot at the thrift store for $3 !! Its 90watts. we really can cook anything in these small appliances pizza, biscuit spaghetti anything i just love it❤
I learned lots of tips regarding DASH products while watching van campers out of Japan and Korea. Lots of great meal tips with them too. Glad you found them.
First yay...Keep up the great work, I debated On getting that egg thingy..now I'm gonna buy it
A great and informative video. These devices are a good idea. Good advice. Your singing voice is nice too. Enjoy
Aw thank you!!
cool tip: you can throw the eggs into the rice cooker while its cooking, by the end you get hard boiled eggs and cooked rice. just wash the shells first.
I like her 70’s vibe!
Hello from the high desert of New Mexico USA 🇺🇸. I just found your channel and I liked and subscribed. Keep up the good work and God bless you and your family
The waffle maker is amazing too! You can use cheese or tatter tots even hash hash browns! Thanks for the share! In that omlette thing you can mix eggs up and add some sugar and vanilla it tastes like custard but not running!!!
You are so awesome!!
Love the personality! Keep the videos coming!!
You are a HOOT🎉
Def getting the small appliances.
My boat is small!
😊
A Crock-Pot uses anywhere from 50 to 300 watts very energy efficient I got a mini Crock-Pot and I use it to heat up my lunch at work so I will use this in my van thank you
These appliances are a smart option! No carbon monoxide, safer for small space cooking 🌟
Yes they are!
And no worrying about burning the van up!😮❤😊
Buying all 3 right now! I need these so much
These are great videos😊 I saw another minivan lifer who has a 500 watt microwave even!! I have a stacking double boiler kind of thing and even a heater! All under 500 watts because my power bank is only 600 watts.
Love your videos and you. Get on the road so we can see real life. Save and get the Jackery 1500. Have a converter installed and you can recharge at 500 watts. I have a microwave, hot water, single cup coffee maker, 53qt fridge/freezer, tv and fans.
I can’t wait to watch you on the road. Take care!
Do you think your set up is possible with a 1000 watt jackery? Also what do you mean have a converter installed? What is a converter and how do I have it installed? Like connected to the jackery?
You might be the most entertaining Vanlifer I've ever seen
Love this. My favorite breakfast is Turkish eggs, poached eggs over yogurt with meat and a nan bread and instead of chili oil itumcurry and oil.
I am so loving this go girl go thank you so much I'm going to go purchase one of those rice cooker you have a very beautiful spirit about yourself God bless💯🐞🍹
I love dash. That dash toaster is awsome and could hear that little van real fast
I have a double decker egg genie (very similar) and I love it.
It is literally the best way to boil eggs.
They peel easier too when they are steamed.
Love it! I have to get the egg maker!
That egg maker changed my life tbh
Rice is wonderful you can get a shower and if that place has a plug you can get rice cooked with the timing of your shower. You can carry cooking in your bag try using insulated pouches to keep things safe.
I have the dash egg cooker in my nyc apartment. It’s great for all the ehh styles. A bonus is that the omelette is shaped perfectly for an egg sandwich
The roadpro portable stove has worked great for me so far.
I would try making a cup cake in it. You can get them at Walmart come with maybe 5 in a box and you add water, put in microwave. Definitely think it could work in this.
Madison is so pretty, and so adorable. Loved this helpful video. ❤️👍❤️
I definitely learned quickly that 1000w is the standard, and you need a little over that just to be safe. While they have things like small heaters, they still run around 400w, and cooking appliances definitely get closer to the 800-1000w range.
Thankyou for that information. These look great. I have to buy from Canadian Amazon but plan too.
I hope you enjoy them!
$20 Single butane cooktop meets all my needs, esp. the essential of boiling water.
I think the cig port has to be at least 10 amps.
loved your video and demonstrations...you were made for this ...adorable, funny and informative...
The egg cooker is good for steaming veggies too! Thanks for sharing! God bless you!
You can make oatmeal in your rice cooker as well!! 😋
You don't actually have to cook oatmeal, just add hot water and let it sit awhile. I make mine mixed with raisin bran cereal, dry skim milk powder and Splenda (or honey). :)
The only difference between regular oats, which I use, and instant oats is the size. That's what makes it quicker to make. I'm too lazy to grind it up, so I just let it sit.
Jon in rural BC, Canada
You don’t even need hot water. Overnight oats.
I have to thank you so v.much for finding these things cause I was worried about cooking all the ti.e outside also, I dont mind, but I want to more with my time. So thank you v. Much, you're aweso.e keep making them videos funny as heck🙏😊💕🤪👍
Right? I wish they would come out with more🙏
You could use the egg cooker as a steamer as well...like steamed biscuits stuffed with some veggies or cooked meat or something like that.
Love the rice cooker. Love it. Ps you can use a sink strainer to clean rice and keep with rick cooker
this is a great idea!
Love the sound of your voice and your singing
Look for the mini Nesco electric skillet. Also the My Mini one slice bread/bagel toaster. They are both under 500 watts. I'm running a 1200 watt inverter straight of of my batteries in a semi truck. If you have a little more power, the 6 quart Instant Pot is a must have.
IP also has a 3 quart pot ❤
I got the mini toaster oven!
