To see the look on Paul’s face at the mention of a charity shop, we call them opportunity shops here in Victoria, so funny. Glad you enjoyed your brief escape to the big smoke, our turn coming soon I hope. 😊
Paul, I realise you were trying to pick up magnets. When fishing for steel items, it helps to remove the little plate from the bottom of the magnet. I learned the hard way. 😄
the waterway you looked at in Bristol is the docks area ,really the end of canal route to Bristol, water level is keep constant ,locks gates at its junction with the Avon ,as Avon drops to just nearly mud at low ride ,you want to take your boat there ,i should look at the route ,its a tough route take a look at Caen hill locks, you went to Bristol and missed out its famous bridge and ship ,
When next in Bristol try what my daughter and I did....booked through Agoda....the Arnos Manor Hotel, Bristol, double or twin room en suite facilities plus full English breakfast for one night total £40.32 and it was well worth and really nice !!! 👌👍
Ex downhill skater, body boarder, jet skier.. a lot of things! That’s coming from me though (Mel) all before I knew him although yeah, the wardrobe has remained!✌🏻😎

You can get to Bristol on the Kennet and Avon Canal via Bath. No pilot required and that part isn't tidal.
