Thank you Mel. Another adult who admits to being terrified of the dark! I'm now what they call a Septagerariun and am still waiting to 'grow out of' my irrational fear of the dark - whilst realising in my rational moments that it is never going to happen and I'm stuck with sleeping with the hall light on every night and not even taking the rubbish out once it gets dark! It sounds so stupid I know but fear of anything is a real emotion. I also hate horror films! On a happier note!!! The pumpkin looks great, Paul will soon be back with you again, the rain always stops and the clouds always make way for the blue skies. Thank you for sharing your everyday life with us when Paul is away. Keep smiling and living that dream.

As always, a lovely video and a great attitude. As a US citizen I may never get to see a narrowboat or a wide beam. Since you mentioned visiting another boat.....I would love to see any interior shots anyone is willing to share. Don't mean to be intrusive but I am amazed at the time, effort, and craftsmanship that owners have put into their boats. Hope that doesn't come out sounding weird.

Ah, Paul doing what he does with planes could be a component of why Paul likes to have things done well and properly; Dad and Grandad were each pilots for a season of their lives & there are a whole bunch of things in aviation where if you don't get it right the first time you'll never have to worry about getting anything any way ever again.

I wish I could remember the name of a narrowboater , from Frances’ canals, I came across last year , maybe you’ve seen her. She goes to vintage and second hand shops to get clothes to upscale and sell online, you’d have a lot in common. I haven’t seen any videos from her since Covid so she may have moved home to her parents home till it was safe again. I’m sure it was lonely and probably unsafe for her living alone on a little boat. Her Father owned a hire company if I remember correctly, but then again I’m getting up there and watch so many cloggers I don’t trust my memory😂🤣. I think she was selling on EBay or Etsy to begin but was starting her own website because the fees for those sites were ridiculous. I’m glad you’ve found a friend with same interests, it must get lonely staying alone . Is Paul staying at work for long periods? Hope all is well for you both, take care🙋🏼♀️
Oh that sounds just up my alley I’ll take a look! It can be lonely especially not having family around either.. but I get by and I do also enjoy being able to spread out and get my sewing done etc. It’s a change but we make the most! Always nice to miss each other a bit!☺️ not long periods 5 day rotating shifts x

My favourite is the Turf Tavern, under the "bridge of sighs", turn left down the alley. Covered Market ... make your first recce without your purse and plastic!!! 😂😂😂 Unsophisticated it might appear but nothing unsophisticated about relieving you of cash in the woollens stalls 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. (On the far right wall ref from the main entrance.) And breakfast in upstairs cafe for "after the night before". Dunno if it's still there but Google up "shark in the roof" ... might be worth a squint.

Plenty of waterways around Oxford ... it's finding the mooring which can be tricky.
