- This really isn't a review, it's not even really an overview. This is just gawking at the marvel in front of me for almost 20 minutes. It's amazing in every possible way. Keep in mind that this is a San Mai blade (which helps it stand out from the Damascus bolsters for a striking look). San Mai is not folded (Damascus is), it is a clad blade in 3 layers....
His work is amazing.I appreciate you sharing this with us.
After collecting for over 10 years this is still my favorite knife. One can only dream to own this
Those knobs are way out of my league the most expensive knife I ever had is a $500 knife it was a SOG limited edition with The San Mai lll steel and the fylde backspacer in the titanium and I believe bone scales it was beautiful those knots you show they're just immaculate but I would like to have him a little simplified but the exact same design and shape! I also recently bought the SOG with CPM S30V blade that has the harpoon type shape recurve blade but I'm a little disappointed in it mostly the blade geometry I had to really take a lot of Steel off of it to make it really take an edge off the front.
Dude. That King is one freakin' STUPENDOUS knife. The Titaniums are also pure treasure. Thank you for sharing them.
The way he matched the grain from the bolsters to the scales reminds me of a master woodworker, the attention to detail is amazing. I hope that knife is so far out of my price range that I can forget about buying one. I'm going to Franks website next. Pray for me.
#GRAIL
I wonder if there was every I guess you could say field grade version of this knife bc I’d love this blade to even edc. It’s big but I usually prefer a little bit bigger folders since I live in the Appalachian mountains in Pennsylvania and am outdoors a lot.
It’s hideous
Amazing...just amazing
Frank fisher is FB Journe of knives
If you took a still at oh say 19:00 to me it looks like that still pic looks like it should be on the national flag of a Middle Eastern country!
Yes it's an old video but I've seen it before & will surely watch it more in the years to come.
How much.???
can anyone tell me how i can get on Frank Fischer's book???
Michael Smith His books have been closed for years.

God damn that king battle is honestly the most gorgeous knife I've ever seen!

Your Frank Fischer Battle is my absolute favorite knife on the planet, It is knife perfection. In fact it is probably the most beautiful piece of art on earth.

Would like to see him do a collaboration with someone to make something available to the rest of us.
Amazing! All fastening hardware hidden except pivot... Congratulations! Frank's site under construction - how do I contact him to order one (willing to wait)?... Thank you! And keep up the best knife reviews I've come across.
That is quite possibly the best looking San Mai I've ever seen...
my god, it is beautiful.
Hey I'm new to this channel, can someone please tell me were to find beautiful knives like this ( with a lot of patterns and different colors) please? Thank you very much. Nice video btw.
@jimskelton Thanks for introducing me to Franks work. I remember watching the original Battle guest blade review... And when you said "stop this video now and get on Franks books" I did. And I'm so glad I did. I love my Battle and my son will inherit it after me. Thanks again Jim =)
"It's a alleged molestation, you weren't there, there wasn't a ducking camera present" I lost it! Laughed my ass off
7.5k
I love how the Damascus pattern almost perfectly matches the flow of the Timascus pattern at bolster seam.
Jim, Ive known you were on WOWtv for a while now, and im slowly becoming interested in the world of watches as well. Is it possible for you in the near future to perhaps review watches, make a watch channel, etc?
go ahead and snack that booty Jim. you need to do another blade booty challenge with all 3👍👍
Frank's work is seriously flawless. Those knives are amazing.
I would sleep with those knives PEACE :-)
Hey Jim ! Do you have a web site that shows pictures of all these amazing knives ?
Also, I would like to see a video that shows all your collection and the way you store and display your knives, thanks.
Luc Malenfant Most every pic I've taken in the last 2 years or so is archived on my Instagram @jimskeltontv
Very Nice! What does it cost to get one of these??
EnduringEagle About the price of a used Honda ;-)
Youch!!
Twin baby beauty's had me crying me eyes out
The bolsters look like they might be the same San Mai steel as the blade. Badass knife.
They are San Mai.
I didn't think this masterpiece could be more stunning. I certainly felt wrong after checking Instagram. This video doesn't really do it justice. So immaculate. I'm just gonna hang out and stare for a while.
What a great knife. Thank You.
What makes the knife more pricey. The materials, designer or the time to make it??
Designer is the main factor with full customs, materials vs work invested could go either way....... This knife is made out of quite expensive materials but that also increase it takes careful consideration to get the most out of those materials and you gotta be careful to not fuck it up cause the materials are not masses produced (Timascus is a brand name made by 1 guy) but mostly you are paying for the time of someone who work is HIGHLY sought after-
People are happy to wait years on this guy's books and with up front deposits but these are the kind of guys who invent construction techniques and even make their own screws (full custom).
A knife like this sells for like $7500...... I dont have that kind of money but I understand why people who do pay it, like Jim here-
Frank Fisher, Stan Wilson, Tony Marfione, Gavin Hawk, ECT. are the people who a expanding the craft of knife making and I understand & agree with the idea of supporting human genius. I have a lot of appreciation for the true connoisseur collectors, the Jay Lenos, Jim Skeltons, who have the money to support the artists and the passion to do all this documentary work as well cause Jim started this channel on top of his career and family life and the videos aren't even half the work he did it for love of the craft, notice the lack of advertising in his videos and I can geeking out on hardcore knife with a guy who's taste never disappoints.
Jim, i would really appreciate it if you would do a video about "cheap" production knifes who are still beautiful and strong.
srry if my english isnt verry well.
btw love youre vids.
Delta Red Thanks, but I really only do videos on my knives, or on knives I have an interest in. My interest in production knives was lost years ago, so I really only collect customs and midtechs now.
Thnx for answering tho
Very nice.
I like that knife any chance I get it for $20 bucks
Quite a family of Battles.
Pure eye-candy.
Thank you Jim, for bringing Frank, Todd and their fantastic craftsmanship out to the world.
Great video jim! the knife is insane!
Beautiful work of art from Frank! Thanks for the video Jim, it makes me want mine that much more. My 4.25 is on Frank's bench now!
King of Damascus! Damn epic.
Nice hands..:)
When you were holding them in each hand I couldn't help but think of what a god-less act it would've been to have just beaten the blades together.. badly damaging both knives.
👍
Interesting Fact: Frank originally finished this Battle is a lighter color configuration which can be seen on his Instagram page. The mokuti was a light blue and the bolsters were also a lighter shade. Abe wanted it darkened and Frank was reluctant, but damn it turned out sweet. Frank is a mad genius who is defining what knife perfection is. Abe is very gracious, cool and lucky guy. Thanks Jim for making this available for everyone to see!
Steven Cheshire Very true, except it was me doing all the prodding to get the blue to this color. ;-) Abe was kind of on the fence, I pushed him over LOL
+Jim Skelton this is true.
Abe Galsky how much did that Damascus covered knife run you if you don't mind me asking?
Probably over 10k
Thank you Jim, for introducing me to Frank's work. I got on his books after watching the video of your Battle. To this day it remains my absolute favorite blade.
Willy George I'm really glad to hear that. Enjoy!!
+Lalaland he's a professional badass.
Absolute perfection. Your 'Battle' definitely has a more practical size in terms of carry, but for a knife like that, Timascus and Damascus, dubbed the 'King Battle', that size seems equally appropriate. The 'Battle' and the Todd Fischer 'Archangel' are pretty much the epitome of 'grail' knives. It really doesn't get any better; owning one is something to be proud of, and your friend is a lucky dude indeed to own two... including one that almost demands an adjective like 'glorious'. Great video.
What an amazing piece Abe! Congrats!!!
Is anyone else playing with themselves? Good god..
"that is sexy as shit" pretty much sums it up in few words lol . Fuckin amazing lookin knife.
I can only imagine the pains it would take to sharpening that. Of course, I'd never use it... way too beautiful.
Really beautiful. I would never sell mine but adding a "big booty" would be nice. They just seem to get better and better with each one he builds. That is definitely a King Battle.
how could there be a thumbs down!!!
Benjamin Woods There's always a jealous few....
Do you think this knife is comparable or better than a stan wilson knife?
in my opinion jim you should make a video about knives that could be much more expensive in the future
All Awesome!
Speechless
BEAUTIFUL KNIFE'S
wow!
holy fking shit - noth said
😨
