I know this is old and it won't be seen but I just want to say this has to be the most beautiful pocket knife I've seen. Not something I can go for at the moment when young kids but this is the kind of ultimate EDC I hope to have one day. Thank you for sharing.
You know I love this model as I currently have 2. It really is a very impressive piece and yours is gorgeous! Love the thumb disk and the ano work. Your file work is sick.
wow. that pivot system is revolutionary. and i can imagine a lot of these new knife clip designs with hinged, springs and bearing sprouted from fountain pens. i have noticed some distict similarities. really cool
You pay for what you get people!!!! I could never get bored with these types of knifes every time I watch the video I notice more detail work...I'm going to get something like this ASAP
Very nice review. Love my midtech! Honestly had no idea about the variable flipper speed until I saw this video. Awesome feature! Hope to get a custom soon!
As someone who remembers your original guest blade, I was curious to see how things had changed to the point they're at now. I'm really enjoying my midtech.
Love this knife so much, I think I've watched this video three times at different moments throughout the year . Just a shame I can't even afford the midtech version of it.
Jim I hear what you are saying I just recently purchased the Heretic Auto Butcher and although not as bad ass as yours it’s become my favorite knife to carry. The knife is awesome thanks for the video.
I love the butcher. Right now im getting my first mid tech and im torn betwee this and the southard avo. Im leaninf more towards the avo because brad is one of my favorite makers and getting a knife from him is a grail even a mid tech but I just love how different the butcher is. Its in my top 5 grail knives along with any southard, any shiro, any ferrum forge and a kwaiback with direware being a close 6th. Those 6 knives would make my collection.
Jim, very nice custom knife. I was very impressed with his med-tech knives for the price. I did not see any dark-out blades more my taste. Very good vid on a maker of great talent. Keep the vids coming.
beautiful knife...nice pickup...i contacted andre a couple of weeks ago, about a custom build...and he's not taking orders for those right now..he's got a 12 month backlog and asked me to check back later in the year...so it appears, if you want a custom, you are gonna be waiting a while...just an fyi...
Right now I have a basic pathfinder, that I paid full price for, a second hand ADV spartan knuck, and a brand new ADV battle cleaver I won in an auction. Once you have an ADV you just want more and more
My butcher's blade is 3 and 3/4, its tge same as my kwaiback and bigger than a pretium. I love this knife, it flips sooo great. My favorite two things are the backspacer and the flipper and sharpening notch cutout. Plus looking at the blade profile from the front, you see how intricate it is. It is being replaced by the newly acquired Hoback kwaiback mid tech since ive wanted one evef since I first saw one but those 2 are my top favorite knives along with the pretium of course. I really would like to have a thumbdisk like the one you have, I love flippers but I like to deploy the knife by flicking it out sometimes. I use the fuller to middle fingef fluck it but it love a thumb disk, I might have to contact Andre down the road about it.
Hey Jim! cool video! Just wanted to point out that Damasteel is also a product of powder metallurgy! I'm not sure if its the only Damascus that is made in this manner, but I think its fairly unique. I think that's frickin cool. anyway... shutting up now.
Hi Jim' Is the lockbar face carbidized' noticed some have two small screw on the lockbar & some don't ' the once with the screws on the lockbar ' do they have the steel insert on the lockbar face like the Zero Tolerance frame locks. Cheers
Hi Jim, u talked about a Spyderco that u liked that u say cost u about $40 that u say would never sell & I'm gonna buy a Spyderco for my next knife. I can't remember what the model was. By the way u gave me this sickness of knife love, but I don't really mind too much. Dave
Beautiful knife and though too much for my taste you have to appreciate the engineering elements for sure. Very unique. Nothing specific to this maker but I thought it a good spot to bring up a pet peeve of mine and hear your thoughts. I see so many makers incorporating some kind of design element that removes stock usually in a circle on flippers, friction folder tangs, even spydie opening holes in blades. It always bugs me when they go to all the trouble to make a design element out of it or even when it's just something necessary to the function of the knife and it either doesn't center or is partially covered when the knife is closed or open. As in the case of this knife. Circle of stock removed from the flipper but when the knife is open it's partially and non symmetrically covered. My feeling is just leave the hole off if you can't make it contribute to the aesthetic both closed and open. Feel the same way about opening holes that get partially obscured by the scales on one or both sides when closed. So nice when the scale shape is designed correctly to accommodate it and it's perfect. Anso's knives come to mind. It becomes part of the perfection of the design when the knife is closed. Logos too are another one. You see these amazing blades out there for thousands of dollars with great logos engraved to perfection and then 1/3 of it is covered when the blade is closed. Anyway it's not a big deal of course in the grand scheme but to me what makes it annoying is that it goes unnoticed which sort of comes off a rushed or lazy after all that great effort. Feel the same way about improperly centered logos on blades let alone interaction with the rest of the knife. Too close to the edge and cut off or very close to it due to afterthought grinding, etc. Anyway, just my .02. Amazing knife here as always Jim and thanks for doing these. Nice to have such a resource to introduce us to so many newer makers stuff
I want to disagree with you... but i actually ended up taking notes. I would say that calling it rushed is a little bit strong, but I do think that if every last detail like that was squared away, it would be that much more special. functional comment, man.
love the knife. looks like a bad ass knife a mafia hitman would have. I do have a question though. I have an MCUSTA I would like pimped, who should I look up to do this? thanks! keep up the kick ass knife reviews!
I LOVE all the knives you have on the chanle! I don't have the cash to get any of them at the moment. I've been praying for the day you do a give away! it's likely the only way I could get one at this point. as per you get the most amazing blades hands could ever touch no less. because of your chanle I've become an expert at high end blades without ever holding one lol. I think I've seen all your vids plz help!
I’ve 4 ADVs, but none like this. 3 are slipjoints a the other a 2013 midtech. I love them all, but I’d still like a few more! If you’re interested, mine are all on my channel.
hey im new to the "knifeworld" i love them and want to have knives that i like REALLY and that is one of them but i dont know where to buy a custom butcher mabey someone could help me out?
I am sorry to say this knife has been stolen, after I did some custom mods to it . Scales were changed to timascus. If anyone sees this knife please contact me urgently. It went missing in the post --reward offered.
this knife is in my opinion not beautiful and not realy useful. (For what is this kind of blade, we´re talking about a folder, not a kitchen-knife) All together, this design is in form and color not mine.
I'm absolutely speechless. By far one of the most gorgeous blades I have ever seen.
I know this is old and it won't be seen but I just want to say this has to be the most beautiful pocket knife I've seen. Not something I can go for at the moment when young kids but this is the kind of ultimate EDC I hope to have one day. Thank you for sharing.

Im usually not a fan of big beasty blades like this, but this is probably the only one I would actually buy
Right now I have a basic pathfinder, that I paid full price for, a second hand ADV spartan knuck, and a brand new ADV battle cleaver I won in an auction. Once you have an ADV you just want more and more

Fair enough. It's not going to bother everyone. More a curiosity of why it seems to be so often overlooked than anything
love the knife. looks like a bad ass knife a mafia hitman would have. I do have a question though. I have an MCUSTA I would like pimped, who should I look up to do this? thanks! keep up the kick ass knife reviews!
Wish there were knives like this for people like me who are on a budget.
There are, that's why I included a look at his budget priced Midtech.
Jim Skelton
Well my budget is more limited than most peoples. Even some makers middle priced knives are to expensive for people like me.
Jim Skelton wer can you get one

I’ve 4 ADVs, but none like this. 3 are slipjoints a the other a 2013 midtech. I love them all, but I’d still like a few more! If you’re interested, mine are all on my channel.
