Good list, the shitf + enter trick is very important tho and I would’ve listed it. Also theres a way to expand the map with map tacks but I forgot how.
It's also useful if you have Reliquaries, or happen to be playing Kongo where those relics give you other yields. I would never take Martyr over Proselytizer or Translator though if going for a Religious victory, or if you're actively trying to spread or defend your own religion. Since it requires your Apostle to die in combat, you'll either need to be far away from your territory or have Monastic Isolation to prevent the loss of religious pressure.
I think maybe Martyr is best on an early-game Apostle, because you can park that holy relic in a Temple for the whole rest of the game, generating 4 faith per turn for you to use for more apostles, great people, naturalists, and rock bands. The longer the game, the more value. That or a Tourism (culture) game.
One issue with Martyr is that to take advantage of it, you have to get the Apostle to die in theological combat. That means your religion decreases and the victor’s religion increases in nearby cities; unless you chose Monastic Isolation, in which case only the victor’s religion increases, and yours is not directly decreased.
Very nice, I didn't know a lot of these.
Harvesting crabs for Gold was the best one! Crazy that you got 353 Gold from a single crab tile
Harvests and chops value depends on the number of tech/civic researched. So the later eras provide quite a bit.
@@ComradeKaine ah, interesting.
Thanks! Your tutorials are awesome :) definitely underrated
I'm 900 hrs into the game and had no idea about number 8! Thanks! 😂

I recommend the shortcuts short
ruclips.net/user/shortsAek-1cTWMoU?feature=share
if you place a tack at the furthest tile north and south respectively, the map expands. I think that's what you were referring to
@@ComradeKaine yes but the added context that overall you can save on science and culture
Isnt martyr a good ability though?
For culture, sure! But not if you are going for a religious victory.

@@ComradeKaine ah that makes sense! Thanks for the vid!
