  • With historical stories integrated along the way, the Lake Dunstan Trail extends and compliments the well-established Great Rides in Central Otago and the Southern Lakes. Opening in May of 2021, the trail is a mix of Grade 1 to 3 and spans roughly 57 KM, linking the townships of Cromwell and Clyde. While the official start of the trail is on Smiths Way, about 16 KM outside of Cromwell, we will be starting from the Cromwell Historical Precinct, a popular and convenient spot to start the trail.

@@ChrisandDanya Malaysia. We loved NZ and has visited 7 times. Our last cycling trip was 2018. Plan to visit 2020 was unfortunate then due to pandemic.

Borders are opening internally in July, hopefully you get another chance soon! 🙏❤️
Danya and I were in Kuala Lumpur for a few days in 2016, but unfortunately, didn't get a chance to explore outside the city. Hope to explore it one day!

Are going to do The Hump and The Kahurangi?

    • @ChrisandDanya

Editing our Humpridge Track video right now; that'll be our next video.
Never heard of Kahurangi, we'll check it out!

Remembered that the track is called The Heaphy the Park I think is the Kahurangi. I heard that Bathurst Mining has been contributing to pest eradication in this park and the bird life is very improved

We were booked to do The Heaphy Track this year, but the Heaphy bridge got taken out in last year's storm and it's going to take them a long time to fix it. We'll still do a day trip or overnighter to Heaphy Hut though as we're in Westport now

@@ChrisandDanya we did a short walk from the Karamea end lots of Nikau groves and wild sea. Also walked a track in the Karamea Valley with from memory orange water and amazing mosses. Try a kayak on the grade 2 Rapids...great fun although when I capsized all my wife could see was my hat!
