Thanks, brother! I saw your video and change it on my 2015 Silverado. Very easy to do after your explanation. Better than taking it to the dealer. Good job!

Nice video. I just replaced my tank, heater, and level sensor on my 2015. At 215,000 miles I'm on my third heater, first one was done under warranty and I did the second one, heater only. I had the 203b code which was for the reductant level. Wasn't sure if there was a sensor in the tank so I bought a new tank (there is not, its built into the heater) but if you're already doing the work its just money. I also swapped the level sensor GM p

Hey, I originally had code P205B. I replaced the Def heater thanks to your install video ! But after the replacement within 8 miles these 2 codes popped P2200 P2205 and now my truck states X miles until 65mph service emissions system. The codes are for the Nox sensor 1 and nox sensor heater control, do you think maybe I forgot to plug something in? The truck was drivable before. Just getting super frustrated I appreciate your help

Great detailed video. I have a 2015 Duramax giving a P205b code. Hopefully when I replace the heating reservoir, it will take care of the problem.

Thank You! I've only ever replaced the sending units for both temperature sensor codes and heater codes. I would always check the wiring first (A really good visual inspection), There is a module on top of the tank that can fail and cause issues (I've never seen one fail).

Brian, did replacing the heater work for you? If so, can you share the part number and where you got it, please? I, too, currently have a P205B code. If I end up replacing it, it will be the 4th heater I've had to install in my 2014 Duramax (factory + two prior replacements covered under warranty + this one). Also, Drews Shop Life - great video!

I to just for this code and the def tank and heater sensor has been replaced in the last month. Idk what to do. Also is it ok to keep driving like this because I live in a warm area?

@@gustavitooo717 Do you mean you replaced the DEF tank heater and it's still throwing the P205B code? With respect to how long you can keep driving with the DTC set, I honestly don't know with the P205B code. You can probably clear it several times but eventually it will probably set and not allow you to clear it. I don't know that for certain though.

@@bobhutchins557 the def tank itself and the sensor was replaced. From what I read I heard there’s some sort of cycle that needs to be done after called a regen service and I’m trying to find out if that’s the issue or if it’s something else

2016 LML here! I have been dealing with a P2BAA Exhaust concentration High-Low reductant consumption for a while. Dealer replaced NOx 2 but the code keeps coming back. Any idea on this issue? Thanks

P205b just came up on my '15 2500HD. What's the cost, ball park anyway. I'm not too sure if I should tackle this myself or just take it in. Want to make sure I don't get jobbed by the shop. Thanks man, very cool and insightful video!

It’s not really a hard job to do , you just have to make sure you don’t get any dirt or crap in the tank and pump. Also if your emission light is on or flashing you may have to relearn the heaters with a scan tool. So for price the reservoir kit list is $274 for a gm part and the labor per Mitchell is 2.4 hours. Price really depends on labor rate. Could be anywhere from $550 -$650 at (150 per hour of labor). Thank you!

Nice video did it in my drive way just fyi I have a cheap scan tool cleared the code and drove down block and my count down on mileage went away. Thanks you

Im glad it worked for you, these are pretty easy to replace. Sometimes you can just clear the code and its good, other times you have to preform the reset procedure.

Bought my 2016 3years ago only had 12,000 in the shop now getting its Sensor replaced first time they replace it under factory recall everything new tank, heater, pump. Now doing it again on Extended warranty. Only time warranty does not cover tank, sensor only hope they don’t crack the tank ring. If so I’m paying

There are so failure prone on these trucks, I’ve had to change some 3 year old sending units. Luckily that ring comes in the kit with the Chevys if you get the factory part.

Do you have any idea what the P20BB code could be related to? O have a scan tool that gCe me that code along with a freeze frame data notification. Im frustrated because we had just replaced the reductant heater tank and it popped up. We went and replaced it again and it’s still not clearing. Not sure where to look. Im stumped 🙁

Where did you get the part from? I have seen some of these heaters even from the dealer be no good out of the box. If you can command the reductant tank heater 1 on in the glow plug control module and watch the current draw , Reductant heater 1 should be ( 5-7 amps). You can test to make sure you dont have a bad glow plug control module or a wiring issue by loading the circuit at the def tank (with a incandescent test light) and commanding it and watching the current and the test light come on.
