Such a great video. Im like you, keep working in careers where Im very good at but I dont feel like it's my calling. Starting a business has been heavily on my mind and I am so thankful that I came across your video. THIS IS WHERE I FEEL im beinging pulled towards. Thank you so much for your content, you truly are a beautiful person. 🙏🏽
Hi, my name is nissi Cruz and I’m very excited to launch my business in Garfield, New Jersey and now I’m doing research for everything 😂classes, places, products, costs, EVERYTHING
Appreciated your video so much! I’m hoping to open a little studio maybe next year doing microblading also. All your videos are so helpful. Looking forward for more videos from you!!
Very informative video thank you. I am going to start my training soon and wanted to know how did you get your clients and how much you charge for your service? Also do you recommend practicing at spa first or open my own. My goal is to grow and open a a studio or even training school.
Hi love! I can definitely make a separate video on building a clientele + pricing strategies. For now, I wish you the best of luck with your training - you're gonna kill it! :) As far as my advice for working VS. opening up your own business goes - it's going to totally depend on you and what your needs are. I recommend reading a ton of business books and creating a rough outline of how you want your next 1-5 years to look like. Then, look at the first year and see what SKILLS you need to actually open up a studio. If you feel like you have NO experience with working directly with clients or sales, I recommend starting at a spa for 1 year. This will teach you a lot about how a beauty business is run AND you learn how to build relationships and trust with clients. This will also allow you to save up money. If you feel like you're READY and you know a lot about customer service already, AND you have the funds to bootstrap your business, then I recommend you to just START NOW. I hope this helps - might even turn this topic into a video as well. Best of luck to you!
Hi Anna, thank you for sharing your story. I am from New York and went to open here. Do I need my aesthetician license to open shop or the tattoo license is good enough? Also what are good tips for finding a good accountant?
Hi! You need a tattoo license to perform microblading in NYC, no need for an esthetics license :) I would recommend asking friends & family, maybe even other business owners that you know and see if they recommend any accountants! Can also do a search on Google Maps to see if there's anybody with good reviews nearby you.
Hi Joolie! Good point! I decided to leave out the permit as it varies greatly by state. However, I did pay $100 for the NYC tattoo license permit 😊 Where are you located?
I used my family's accountant to open my business! However, after 3 years, I realized that he was no longer a good fit. I found a new accountant this year by looking on Google Reviews. I recommend asking your F&F - anyone you know who may be a small biz owner, researching Yelp/Google Reviews, reaching out to local biz owners in your industry to see who they work with. Then, give the prospects a phone call and see who you want to work with. It may take some time to find the right fit, but worth the effort!
Hii! I took a class with Advance Microblading. Katie travels across the country and has beginner trainings in different states. I would check her website to see the next time she's in Houston 😊
Hey! How long should I work at a spa for someone before gaining enough experience and skills before opening my own studio? I’m studying fir a facial esthetician right now After graduation I’m planning on a micro blading course. But what do I do next? Spa to know the industry from inside and make connections or open my place right away ? ( focus on micro blading services ) ? Thx!
That's awesome! Arizona is an amazing place to start and it doesn't seem like there's too many barriers to entry. Best of luck to you! Also this is very interesting but I did a quick Google search and it seems like Arizona doesn't require a licensure to practice tattooing. I'm curious if you know this to be true?

@@annazhang I am in california :)
How did you find a trust worthy accountant? Also how often are you paying them?

Is that 6k a month in rent? How were you able to afford that starting out? Did you already have a clientele?
Michigan. Oakland or Wayne County.
Can you please tell me what training you received in Houston? I’m currently living in Houston and I want to find a good training school. Thank you!

You paid 6,000 for the shop/space alone or you have monthly rent?
Hi Tiera that was just the deposit I had to pay to secure the shop and sign the lease. Afterwards, I am still responsible for monthly rent!
@@annazhangwhat is it monthly?
