How can anyone down-vote any singer who can legitimately tackle this four octave nightmare of a song challenge - and a killer bass riff. Kicked this song’s ass.
this is one of those songs that, as a vocalist, is really humbling.. You think you have range until you try this song... transitioning to the falsetto so seamlessly is real talent...
Not just that but this and the original is commonly a key higher than standard E singers. It usually works best with capo 1 engaged. This is sung at capo 2 yikes
The original key which has that high E note is very hard to hit, I've only managed to successfully hit it a handful of times haha 😂 but I can hit and sustain the high B flat note in Ultravox's Vienna 👍

As a German, this video was quite comforting. I used to think only our audiences have a clapping disability, but those 5 seconds 1:05 - 1:10, what a relief.
I'm convinced it's a trait of Northern European extraction, after years of listening to a radio show (Prarie Home Companion, which I no longer listen to) based out of the US northern midwest (heavily populated by white Swedes, Finns, Norwegians, N. Germans, etc) with a live audience whose rhythmic clapping sounds more like machine-gun fire than it does keeping time to a beat. When the company would tour the country, the audience's ability to keep decent time increased with distance and dilution of the demographics.
