I was there that night, literally right at the front! Was unreal, and a performance I will never forget. It still gives me chills to watch back now.
Eminem was in beast mode in the early 2000's and his catapult to stardom was nothing short of epic. The tabloids couldn't get enough of him. You couldn't go five minutes listening to the radio without hit singles like Real Slim Shady, Stan and Forget about Dre being played.
This is him in his prime, back in the days when he was hungry...and still mad. And it was awesome to experience and be a fan.

Em is one of the only rappers I know that when he performs, you can’t hear the studio recorded version in the background, just an instrumental. Raw talent.
There is a backup track for Dido, though. You can hear it come in a fraction of a second before she starts singing, and when she sings in the rest of the song, you can hear she is double tracked

I think he is using just a quiet backing track, not that there's anything wrong with it imo. You can hear it around 2:43 and other parts like 3:33 when he takes the mic away. Also that's what that echo sound his voice has is from. I don't really mind though cause it keeps the song going whenever he needs to take a breath or something, lots of artists do it.
