Similarly had this happen fairly recently. Drive an hour out to fix a check engine light and vehicle riding rough. Guest didn't want stop renting because of the high fees just to re-book. Ended up changing an ignition coil to get it back up and running. Went to a nearby Jiffy Lube for oil change as well. Guest so far had the car for almost three months now with no signs of stopping. I only wish GA had some type of monthly pay-out to hosts instead of waiting for the trip to end.

Great job on keeping the car going! We have a fleet account with Take5 so we tell the guests to go there for oil changes if they keep the car for an extended period of time. 3 months is going to be a huge payout!

The renter should have taken pictures of maintenance light on and upload them to Getaround or you as a proof. Nice it worked out well for you.

They should have, but they didn't even take any pre or post trip photos. Very risky on the renter's part.

When you said what some of the symptoms were, I immediately thought throttle body. I’m at minute 1:53 of the video. Locking in my answer now!

Does it happen intermittently? I hooked up my scanner tool to it and found no old/stored or pending codes. It drove 100% in Denton and on the way to Fort Worth too. It's currently out on another trip already 😅 -James
