Robert what a wonderful fish you caught, a fish to remember, love your video's I did not see the links to the two flies you mentioned from the other tiers. Keep up the great work making these videos.
Congrats with your beautiful post spawner, Robert. Great to see that you also spent time to explain your vieuwers how to handle such a delicate catch. Nice easy shrimp pattern too. All the best from Holland
Hello Robert, Nice video, well made. I disagree about being more careful with colored fish. Both pre spawners and post spawners are prepared by nature for all the spawning stress including to touch rocks, have fights, stay moments without oxygen and so on. For that they have the double amount of slime (you can feel blind folded) and scales are much stronger on the fish. Silver fish instead need most care and die much faster by lifting them too long out of the water. Also silver fish better should be released over little deeper water (knee deep is ok), while colored fish almost walk back into the water on their own. Net fishermen know: silver fish hanging in a ghill net die in 5 minutes, colored fish are still alive 12h later. Huge difference. Having said all this, best is to treat all fish as best as possible. ❤ Cheers B
Hi Robert, great videos -- enjoying these from steelhead country out west! I have a question: I'm heading to Estonia in the next week and will be doing some sea trout fishing. Anything I should be looking for as far as type of water where they might be more plentiful? Thanks!
Hi Robert, I am a newbie to flyfishing and didn't begin to understand yet, what is the real benefit of it vs the spinning rod? You've listed the line specs in the description - Vision Vibe 85+ #7, but on the website there are WF6-7 and WF7-8, so which one os that? Thank you. Subbed and belled. Keep up the great work!
Äntligen tillbaka, som jag har väntat på en ny film från dig! Du har helt rätt, besa eller silver har ingen betydelse, tokfin fisk oavsett. När filmade du detta om jag får fråga?
Sweet fly thanks for sharing! I was thinking; Would placing the flash fibre underneath one of the final wraps of the dubbing loop make it more controllable in terms of tangling? I just bought some Senyos Shaggy Dub for a brush worm pattern, now I have to go back and get shrimp colors. I'm feeling the same way, Im gonna save my spey capes a bit. This is a good alternative.
Hi Robert , I’m from northern uk and usually night fly fish the local rivers for seatrout , I’ve dabbled in saltwater but feel my set up I.e line is no good for the cold North Sea , I use a sage tcx 7100 10’ 7# can you recommend a fly line suitable for cold sat water seatroutting , I wondered if I should go up in weight and use a 8# line on my 7# rod to combat the wind etc cheers
@@FlyFishingbyRobert seems to have missed out a few words :) How do they compare? I have seen you fish with both Merisoula and Meri, what is the real difference between them? From reading it seems that Meri is maybe a bit faster? And where does the cheaper Coast fit on the sclae?
I think that Meri is the most value for money. Stifu components (reel seat, rodguides etc) does not make it a rod I recommend for a streamer rod if that's what you are primarily looking for.
Great work capturing the moment, offering important C&R advice, and tying tips
Thanks Sam. With great help from your work of course!
You are an inspiration Robert. Love your work. Have missed your smiling face and excellent insights. Thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful fly... If I imagine being the fish discovering such a delicious looking meal after... - irresistible.

What kind of gear are you using?(waders / shell)
Interested to know what gloves and finger sleeves you are using?
Fish monkey bauers grandma woolgloves and tiemco stripping guards 👌

How does Vision Meri and Vision Merisoula or Vision Coast?
What do you mean?

Thank you. Next time please show the tail fin of such a fine fish. Regardless if it's pre/post spawn.
