  • In this episode Tuva and myself take off to explore some small lakes after we get a hint from one of our Norwegian friends (Thanks Gisle!). It then turned out to be a day where everything went our way. We caught everything we found, and we both got our new personal best brown trout on dry fly that day. The best dryfly day ever!

I've been fly fishing since 1988 and have never landed browns that big, though I haven't lost hope. New Zealand is on my list. I'm glad for the both of you.

Yeah Tuva was lucky, and skilled, to catch that fish so early in her career. But it’s all about the location. New Zealand is different

No way that brown is only 8.1 lbs (3.7 kg). That thing has to be at least 8.75 lb, right?? It dwarfs my 7.75 lb cutthroat. Was your scale possibly a half lb off ?

    • @slowrisemedia
