Not really any viable spawning streams, so it's basically sustained by stocking with wild browns from Great Lake and (I think) hatchery-bred rainbows, including at least some triploids.
Hey Starlo, I’m just getting into squidgie fishing and I’ve started using braid. I was wondering how do you know how much mono backing to spool before the braid (I have a 3000 Shimano Sedona). Using 150m 8lb Kairiki. Thanks for all of your videos.
It can be a bit of guesswork at times and I’ve occasionally gotten it wrong and has to pull the braid back off and either add more mono or remove some. However, with 150m of 8 pound Kairiki you shouldn’t need a ton of backing. A few layers ought to do it. Sorry I can’t offer a more technical or precise answer.
@@StarloGetsReel Thanks mate. I’ve just started fishing with squidgies recently and have been having a lot of success thanks to you and your videos ! Thanks for the reply !

4 springs is OK, but I'd love to get you on my fave. Tassie trout water 2 1/2 - 3 hrs drive from there.
Sounds good. ;)
Give that one a go Jo!
Awesome video. Have you thought about doing any surf/beach fly fishing videos? Might make for a good challenge style video.
Thanks Alex! Great suggestion... and yes, it can be VERY challenging fly fishing in the surf!
@@StarloGetsReel that’s what’d make it a great video! It’d be awesome to watch some unconventional fly fishing.
Cool video. Is it a self sustained system? Or are they stocked fish?

Oh! Hi Jeroen! I answered that before I realised it was from you! Hope you're well.
All is well here. Hope you and Jo are well!

Hi Robert and thanks! It's actually a 5/6 weight Loop fly rod that Jo won in a raffle at our fishing club! Goes pretty well...

Starlo, you don't take an air gun to hunt elephants.
