It brings me so much joy reading the comments so many new people are finally discovering Elder & how many are blown away how incredibly gifted & talented this band is. Best band of the 21st century & it’s not even close.
Right? Been listening to Elder for the last 7 or 8 years, and finally got to see them open for Tool back in Jan. None of the people sitting around me had ever even heard of them before, but were all super into the music. In fact, everyone was really bummed that they only played a 30 min set, because they wanted to hear more. I really hope they keep getting more exposure, so that more people can enjoy their music.
Absolutely! Been a fan since summer of 2019; 'The Falling Veil' stopped me in my tracks and it's been a great journey through Elder's amazing music ever since. Having said that...holy fuckballs, this set ROCKS!!!
My son discovered tool from my exposing him to crimson, he bought tool tickets for us this year and here i am watching elder, the circle keeps looping around!
I saw elder open for Tool in Fresno. What a pairing. My buddy's son had never heard Elder before, and when the first song finally ended he looked at the both of us wide eyed and exclaimed "that was ONE?!"
No matter what's going on in the world, I am overjoyed to be alive in a time when I get to hear THIS Music. Also, I took my sister to see them last year. She'd never heard them before. Halfway through, she decided to buy her first vinyl and started her collection right then and there.
Tool fixed that up, but they did seem to fly pretty low on the radar for a pretty long time. Of course, I think their slogan should be "Kicking pretty much everybody's ass since 2017, if not before," which Nick would probably consider a bit too 'Oasis' to go around saying. Seems self-evident to me tho
The recognition they get compared to the quality they deserved is way underated...sorry Realy the blame is not on them...is on the Rock industry being destroyed by the rise of internet and social medias that did a huge shift in the model business...the Rock model of performing to bar unto uge stadium to get recognition was outdated Now you have dude comin from nowhere that can barely sing without autotune that goes viral and play and full stadium instantly...sad reality Rock is suffering as a whole cause of it...not only Elder...every Rock band ...TOOL included The only that still on the surface are mainstream bands like Metallica...Ac/dc etc that have hardcore fans and are dedicated live performing band All the hard worker band that spend years to make an album and tour for it got destroyes by the girl that can make only one song in youtube and got viral and billions of view on tiktok Music Isnt a merit scale anymore is a lottery game
This is legit the greatest modern concert/footage I've seen in decades. This performance is beyond incredible. We're soooo lucky to have them in this genre!
Absolutely FUCK YES!!!! Live Elder is such a formidable Beast. Please, please continue to kick every conceivable ass! Can't wait for your next sonic adventure...
HUGE shout-out to the mixing engineer on this performance. Absolutely nailed it. A lot of times I listen to stuff and think I could do better. I bow to this human.
They're definitely in the conversation. This is epic. Appreciate them now, fuckers. You'll miss them when they're gone. The low end on this is making my neighbours need to shit!
@davidgormley7990 Well , that saying of," You don't know what you've got till its gone" is very true, ,,,,,,But,,,,,Whad D'ya mean "when they're gone???" Do you know of some pending void in the sonic landscape by an Elder departure.??? By the count of growth rings I am truly Elder, and expect my expiration date to come up before Elder embodies their "nom de guerre"We'll be keepin' an eye 👁 on this one, just in case.... must protect our Elders.
Merged in dreams has got to be one of the greatest things Ive ever heard come out of my and venue speakers. Such a masterpiece! Elder has got to be one of the best metal bands putting out music right now and seeing them play live really solidifies that. I had seen them play a few times before they went on tour with tool and I experienced Merged in dreams (which I was blessed with) along with a couple of other songs at MSG. They truly deserve to be playing in huge arenas like that one I LOVE TOOL but I was truly there to see Elder that day, and tbh their I prefered their 30 min set over tool's.
Agreed! Best live version so far, for sure. Letting the sampler handle the keyboard stuff is a great choice, it lets Nick and Michael rock the fuck out.
The sound of the Rick in this is just next level tasty - I don't think I've ever heard the bass sound so clearly and perfectly mixed on any live recording!
This sound is untouchable. This band is in a different league. I wasn’t aware how truly unbelievable they sound live until h hearing this today. Pure Heat
it was a transcendental experience being able to witness you live. arguably as important as Tool of which I was there for, your appearance was a complete surprise and an absolutely cherished one. Your talent is remarkable, you have been There, and I will see you again soon one day. Please keep doing what you do, you've struck that golden chord, hang in there and keep attracting that collective. We're here for you.
You took my heart by storm, absolutely in love with everything about the band and the people in it and everybody involved in helping bring your art to my senses
This is superb! Your tone and musicianship are gargantuan. So fun to watch and hear. Incredible!!!!! Also, extremely fun to watch the bassist. Such stage presence and clearly having an amazing time.
Totally inspiring. Every musician knows how hard it is to sound this tight live. Especially when your compositions are as complex and diverse as theirs.
Holy fckin shit you guys ripped as always ! You guys seem really at home on stage now, having fun, blowing minds ! Truly the best band around by lightyears now ! Keep it up ! Can't wait to see you again
I am enjoying this band for years now, and I can listen to their songs over and over again. Not a single note that doesn't make sense. Elder is a legend already and each of the last four albums a classic. And... one more great concert. Thanks for posting this.
Glad to hear that. Was so stoked to see that Elder was selected to support Tool. Wanted to go to a show but was unable to. Glad they slayed though. They deserve the recognition.
Whoever was doing the sound mixing is a bloody genius!! Elder would have to happy about that! They got it soooo right!!! 👌🫶🏼 Really showed how good of a band and musicians they are! ❤️
Thanks, they had their own sound engineer for the show and did a great job, but I recorded the set and mixed it down separately. Great live band for sure!
@@tacomamusic honestly very well done. I was afraid when they opened for Tool that I might not get to see them in such an intimate venue again, but this recording captures them perfectly for me. Thank you! 🤘

Or so I tell myself 😬 Thanks for preserving this all-killer/no-filler setlist for our repeated viewing delectation, btw
Caught the end of one of their sets in 2015 when I was visiting Edinburgh on a family trip. They were playing a packed basement at a bar under a bridge. 😂🤘🏻
I just kind of stumbled upon this band and lo and behold one of the guitarists, Mike Risberg, is a guy I knew in high school. Good to see you continued to pursue music Mike! Your band rocks!

For real. Can you capture that on the next record?
They have aligned with dark forces in order to summon that level of low end.
They're playing Toronto April 2025. At the Axis Club.

Never heard of them till the opened for Tool on the last tour now they’re one of my fav bands!

Your a lucky man my friend! That's so cool to hear!
They should release more HS, high quality sound board shows , bc this is the stuff that gets people hooked
Absolute love this band and the bass player got the best vibe ever….im rocking the living room with my son 9 years old….happy trails from Scandinavia
I saw elder open for Tool in Fresno. What a pairing. My buddy's son had never heard Elder before, and when the first song finally ended he looked at the both of us wide eyed and exclaimed "that was ONE?!"

Also, I took my sister to see them last year. She'd never heard them before. Halfway through, she decided to buy her first vinyl and started her collection right then and there.
Best rock band of their generation...😊
So underated...those guys deserve way more attention for their music😢
Stop saying that highly acclaimed and loved bands are underrated, please. It's a term that's beyond losing its meaning at this point.
Tool fixed that up, but they did seem to fly pretty low on the radar for a pretty long time. Of course, I think their slogan should be "Kicking pretty much everybody's ass since 2017, if not before," which Nick would probably consider a bit too 'Oasis' to go around saying. The recognition they get compared to the quality they deserved is way underated...sorry
Realy the blame is not on them...is on the Rock industry being destroyed by the rise of internet and social medias that did a huge shift in the model business...the Rock model of performing to bar unto uge stadium to get recognition was outdated
Now you have dude comin from nowhere that can barely sing without autotune that goes viral and play and full stadium instantly...sad reality
Rock is suffering as a whole cause of it...not only Elder...every Rock band ...TOOL included
The only that still on the surface are mainstream bands like Metallica...Ac/dc etc that have hardcore fans and are dedicated live performing band
All the hard worker band that spend years to make an album and tour for it got destroyes by the girl that can make only one song in youtube and got viral and billions of view on tiktok
