Kyrie Eleison. Christe Eleison. IC XC NIKA. Truly, Christ Is Risen. Alithos Anesti. Thank you. Beautiful. For He is our only hope and our only justice. Thank you again.
The use of stone and natural light is particularly effective. I especially like the clear windows with the Greek cross. Another remarkable design and one my Irish grandmother would have loved.
That's so great to hear! For this i mostly went with late Anglo-saxon, mixed with norman romanesque element's, both of whom were masters at simple but elegant stonework and lighting.
Such a touching video in more than one way. I'm from Charleston, South Carolina and to hear the seagulls is such a smoothing sound. I have Celtic ancestors so it feels like home. I've been an Orthodox Christian since 1987. Such a beautiful faith. God bless your parish.☦️
This is a very touching comment Thank you so much! A few years ago I had the opportunity to visit rural England, the buildings and the atmosphere were really quite amazing, and a such big inspiration for this project. There are also so many amazing Celtic saints! May God Bless Your Parish as well.☦
this reminds me of the Orthodox church in the city next to me. One of the Orthodox parishes had grown too much so they bought a old methodist cathedral one of the biggest churches in the city. it needs a lot of work to be brought to its former glory as the old congregation did some painting that covered up a lot of the beauty. lots of room for icons which is good.
So glad to run across your channel. When I was an Architecture student at Texas A&M in the early 80's, my special area of interest the design of sacred space, in particular Roman Catholic Churches. I changed careers in the early 90's. Now I am an Orthodox Christian Iconographer. You have an excellent sense of design that blends the traditional with the contemporary. May you continue such visionary h sacred work!
Thank you so much, i'm currently working towards a degree in architecture as well. I really wish more of my classmates were interested in traditional/ sacred Architecture, Hopefully this changes soon.
This deserves much more views! I agree with others that it would be interesting to see an Orthodox chuch in Scandinavian style. I'd also be interested what you could make of a concept with German/Dutch influences
This is beautiful. I would love to see more incorporation of Celtic knot work and Celtic art within the church as well, within the etching of the stone, within the cross, and within the iconostasis. If I saw that, I would know immediately that I was home in a Celtic orthodox church.
If you have considered making one based on latin american architecture, please take a look at the St Ildephonse Cathedral of Mérida, in Yucatán. A fine example of franciscan architecture, built on top of a mayan temple, that is said to be one of the first cathedrals of the continent.
yo, I'm really loving these. I would love to see a church in Indian (from India) or Native South American styles as I have roots in both and am exploring orthodoxy. Considering converting
Awesome Celtic concept and music! I’d recommend integrating the iconography from the book of Kells / Lindisfarne Gospels… and experimenting with modifying the Iconostasis since a huge one like that is way too Russian for the historic Celtic church. Look up the altar screen / rood screen.
All I can say is WOW! As an Irish Catholic who is both intrigues by the Orthodoxy an also collects Russian icons, this is a masterpiece of the melding of 2 religiouse ideologies. The Celtic artform shares its roots with the ortodox iconography; I gues that is why I have an interest in collecting such pieces of art. This church is so Irish yet so Orthodox. I noticed in the bookstore (and the church) the icon of St Brendan. Do they have an outlet to sell it? I am seeing this right afte Christmas, so in Irish, Nolag Shona Duit or just Merry Christmas!
Thank you for your kind words, and merry christmas to you too! Legacy icons and uncut mountain supply have a lot of orthodox icons available for sale, so might be able to find the St. brendon one there.
When I hear term celtic, I always imagine the ancient or medieval celtic architecture such as roundhouse, clochan etc. Idk if would be possible to make church in this styles too. But anyway, good and unique work ofc
Thank you🙏, the style chose to go with is post norman invasion so it differs from the more ancient celtic styles of building. However I do think that a more ancient design would be pretty interesting.
Yeah no. The church should have a high altar behind an altar rail. MAYBE with a chancery and Rood screen, along with pews. The british isles wouldn't have an iconostasis. They would have served a variation of the Roman Rite.
Thank you so much for watching!

The Celtic Rite has nearly been forgotten, it could be a beautiful original orthodox rite for the west once again though. This is beautiful work.
Do you know of any who still remember it?
celtic orthodox church, french orthodox , guallican orthodox

This is an absolutely stunning video!!! Just the pairing of the chants and the beauty of the church is outstanding. God bless you : )

They actually existed, in pre-schism eastern and western Christianity. They used the celtic rite aswell, but I loved this concept!
Where in the world is this church located? It is absolutely beautiful !
Thank you, The landscape is based on coastal Scotland.

Похоже на Новгородский храм, не хватает креста с наружи на стенах.
Is there any address of this church?
It’s not a real church my friend
personally i would have changed the crosses. Putting celtic crosses instead of orthodox crosses
BTW, where is this church?

The only part I don't like is that I can't see these churches in real life 🥲. Hopefully more people become orthodox worldwide
