Yes, the media really loved that USC QB and gave no attention to Michael Pratt and what he has done for the Tulane team in 2022. He is a gutsy player with a lot of heart. He could transfer to a Power 5 school but he's staying with the Green Wave. Last year he had very little protection and got banged up often in games this past year. He can run the ball and I hope he will get drafted by a good pro team.
Tulane offense has been really good all year USC's defense does need to get better but two lanes offense has been off the charts all year they've done that to everybody
As long as a team has a good QB and a talented receiver core, NO ONE in college football knows what defense is. You think those 2 BCS semi-final games didn’t have catastrophic meltdown after meltdown in the secondary? Both games. All game long.
As a fan of OU, I say “thank you Tulane”. Lincoln Riley is doing the exact same thing at USC he did at OU: great QB that piles up a ton of stats, wins a lot of awards, and a defense that couldn’t stop a jr high team. He took Alex Grinch with him to sc, so for their fans, prepare for more of the same. You’ll score 45, but your opponent will score 46. With what Stoops left Riley on a silver platter at OU, we should’ve had at least 2 Natl Championships. His ineptness in defense blew those. Yes I am bitter about how he methodically gutted the OU program, and I relish any and all karma that finds its way to him.
I do not think Riley is to blame DIRECTLY for the horrible defense. He needs to have the time to hire good defensive coordinators. If there is no willingness to do that, the defense will always be bad. Take Urban Meyer for instance. He was an offensive mind in football (even though, he was a CB in college). He knew that if he had to win games his defense would have to be top. So when he was at Utah, Bowling Green, Florida, etc.; he was able to fit new coordinators or make very good use of the ones that stayed behind from previous coaching staff. Of course, when they went to pursue their own dreams as HCs, they tanked (Adazzio, Strong, etc.). One thing I also noticed is that offensive minded coaches usually set up co-defensive coordinator positions. You will notice that at his time at Ohio State, he would elect two people to just be responsible for the defense (one for passing game and one for running game). Chip Kelly, another HC at UCLA, is struggling as well. He is their HC AND offensive coordinator. Somehow he managed to get a decent defensive coordinator. It all has to do with the budgets of those schools. Maybe OU is just poor. Who knows? Someone in the athletic department is pocketing all the money. And I write all this, but his special teams were crap. HE would be the one to oversee that part of the team and they would end up making mistakes because someone on Ohio State would botch a reception on a punt or miss a FG.
Oh, it gets worse. If he repeats his performance at OU, year one was as good as it got. From losing in double OT in the playoffs to not making the conference game his last season (remember that way too many of those games were won by one possession), his team’s performances got progressively worse. He can’t recruit and he chokes in the games that matter.

Looks like there's more than one college football team on the national stage from South Louisiana. Welcome aboard Green Wave from that little place 80 miles up the river.
Grinch is getting most of the blame and he definitely deserves a lot of it, but it falls on Lincoln Riley. Look at his failures at OU and even lots of games that they won. Get ahead of teams early and get beat at the end, or nearly beat. Lots of games with less talented players were really close. And teams that play tough & physical are going to beat a LR team, more often than not. LR recruits great offensive players, not so on defense. He’s trying to win by beating teams 52 to 48. It works during regular season and doesn’t work when the competition stiffens. I think USC will get the same thing that OU got, 10 - 11 win seasons & beat in the playoffs…then run to the next big paycheck or NFL.
Lmbo. This is great. USC thought they got a home run hire with Riley. Now they will see what us Oklahoma fans had to endure for too long. No defense at all. He won’t get USC anywhere.
So pretty much how Oklahoma was this year with the new coaches. And now with the move the SEC Oklahoma will have to get use to 6-6 records no conference championships and zero playoff appearances.. Oh how the tables have turned🤣🤣🤣

What a great way to win and against such a storied program as USC. Good for Tulane to get a bowl win this big.
Tulane is so underated they were so good this year
Big LSU fan......So happy for Tulane! Good to see another state school fight with the big dogs and come out on top! Go Wave
Gotta love this for Tulane. At 5:12 I only see 2 clowns who are screaming into their phones as opposed to just purely experiencing the moment. That’s incredible these days and a testament to the passion of the fans.
For me, at least, the most exciting part of that ending was the safety, and the most entertaining part was when 22 men forgot how to play football on that last play. I may be an SMU fan, but I was rooting for Tulane the whole time. What a game!
I love the way they hyped up Caleb and USC just seconds before the game changed
3:28 #21 on USC was just going to lie on top of that guy as long as he could get away with it. Another example of a defensive delay of game this season that I wish would have been called.
How did the official miss that call from three feet away? He was so adamant it hit the ground but he was just making it up
It’s hard to judge a play where we didn’t have his viewpoint. It’s alright because we have replay
He was an SEC official. That explains everything.
That ref must have gotten some USC nil money also
For sure he made that call without seeing the ball hit the ground! You cannot call something you didn’t see.
To Tulane from K-State fan. Nice win Tulane. We knew you were a good team.
Damn. Wish I had seen this game in person. Michael Pratt took those sacks but hit the BIG passes like a Boss!
That is why college football is the best! What a game. Sometimes the improbable does happen. No one told Tulane they were supposed to lose that night. Great job Tulane.
That incompletion on 1st & Goal with 15 seconds left was a pretty huge play. Funny how things work out like that sometimes!
Seeing USC lose is always great. Have fun choking in the Big 10. Great resiliency shown by Tulane!
Sports are still about heart drive n making yourself the best you can be and that is being proved by Tulane winning and tcu in the championship game talent n money isn’t everything you have to have heart n work hard to keep getting better
Fun as hell
I watched another epic Tulane game this year. Fun squad.
Refs really tried to help USC out by not calling targeting on the USC defender who lowered his head and initiated helmet to helmet contact with the Tulane receiver
People forget that tulane had a decent run defense, nice front four.
"Glory days feel like they are coming back for the Trojans" at 0:13. Hilarious placement.
If you wouldn't have told me that Tulane was going to beat Usc is the beginning of the season I wouldn't have slaped you
Tulane have come a long way great win Tulane
3.40 Everyone in the booth and the replay expert were all in agreement that Watts was not "defenseless". Yea on the slow motion replay it looks like that. But watch it again in real time and tell me if it looks like he had any chance at all to "defend" himself from that hit.
I said from the start of the season that USC's defense would be their downfall. That's now the two critical losses to hold them out of the CFP and this massive Cotton Bowl collapse where it showed glaringly
That was on the offense and special teams.
@@michaelmacdonald880 they gave up 46 points. It’s mostly on defense
@@NateandDanielStudios they lost because of the safety. I wouldn't expect an SEC fan to know football thought
@@michaelmacdonald880 not really. All the safety did was allow Tulane not to have to go for the 2pt conversion to tie.
@@michaelmacdonald880 Yeah, all those SEC teams do is keep winning national titles. What could they possibly know about college football? 😉
Couldn't happen to a more deserving team
Haven't seen a team melt down that bad in Cowboys Stadium since...well, the Cowboys.
That safety play. That is why you never hand the ball off behind the line of scrimmage playing from the goal line.
Congratulations to Tulane on a wild, improbable comeback.
The mighty Southern Cal dynasty, taken down by a combination of Pratt and Spears. Endless praise, guys. Endless praise
I realize usc fans will hate me, but just remember this; I know EXACTLY how you felt watching that game. I’ve gone through all the same emotions during his time at OU. You all think we’re delusional liars, which is fine, but we really were excited and optimistic after he left. But you’ll have some really fun memories while he’s coaching your team, so enjoy it while he’s there!
well said.. BOOOOOMER!!
Y'all had a LOSING SEASON, get over yourselves before you become the SEC's bitch
BOOMER!!! Exactly what I don’t understand is why would LR copy and paste that horrible defense we had at Oklahoma, did he honestly think he’d have a different outcome😂😂
@@bens5661 lol yeah OK. USC is 14-11 against SEC teams. Oklahoma has a 109-48-8 record against SEC teams. So keep flapping those gums, buddy. Enjoy yourself in the Big 10!

Unbelievable comeback by Tulane!!! Outstanding team effort 👍.
Love to see USC get beat; icing on the cake to see them get beat in miraculous fashion!
Lincoln seems like he will never learn. You gotta play some Defense to win games from time to time.
Roll Wave

I live to see USC LOSE……THANKS FOR MAKING AN OLD MAN HAPPY
Looks like there's more than one college football team on the national stage from South Louisiana. Welcome aboard Green Wave from that little place 80 miles up the river.
Who's the other team? Can't be the Saints, can it?
@@perniciouspete4986 "College".
“Glorious!” “Glorious!” “Glorious!” 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This is the stuff movies are made of! What a comeback.
Congrats to Tulane. Brought back upset memories from the 80's.
What a game, Tulane!
1:31 WOW! Big 0 said where you going? Nowhere but the endzone Safety!
Wow! That muff at the one was crazy! What a finish. GGs Tulane
This never gets old! We were at that game and it was just the most exciting football game I ever saw in my life
Tulane was favored by alot of sports books. Not surprised now.
That was sheer will ! Good win !
They will definitely take over the AAC next season with the departing of Cincy and UCF. As a UCF student, respect to yall, go knights and roll wave
USC and Riley deserve each other.
Thrilling ending. Reminds me of the Boise State-Oklahoma Fiesta Bowl several years ago.
Hat’s off to Tulane. That was a quite the game 🏈👍🏽👍🏽
LOL. The last play USC ran was so sad. I would feel so crappy running that play. Great win by Tulane!
The ball did not touch the ground I do not care what anybodys says... Congrats to Tulane! When USC is up 45-30 what a comeback! lol!
Unbelievable! Congratulations I keep watching the game over and over and over and over
Everytime I feel sad, I watch this game. 😂
Bless the green wave and the reply official! Big 💰 day!!!
Every time USC makes a tackle on defense they start strutting around like a Banty Rooster 🐓 like they are good
Banty
BOTY! Bowl of the Year!!! ;-) also the G5 victory of the decade thus far 😏🌊
