- Following on from the last video ( • Remapping a BRAND NEW ... ) when we remapped the Amarok to 300bhp, we have now also tuned the gearbox and enabled launch control!
Lets see how that changes the 0-60mph times...

I've got a Golf 1.9 tdi and fitted a mahogany turbo I made with my Dremel, downloaded a tune from Aldi and flashed it to the ECU through my old Nokia. I can regularly pull 2.0 sec 0-60 times with 500mm section Pirelli p-zeros on the front and two spacesavers on the back. I've towed a trailer with 30 tonnes of immigrants through the channel tunnel loads of times and my oil temp never goes above 30 Kelvin. It'll do around 240 mph on decent stuff from Tescos pumps. Again a nice project. 0-60 is pretty quick we are spoilt these days. But most people have cars which are not faster than 10 sec to 60.😀

Mega, I’m swapping to a 4motion transporter soon, it’ll have to pay you guys a visit. Used for towing so it’ll be nice to get some extra power out of it. Transit custom feels pretty weak once it has the trailer on

Aye hopefully a VW will hold its value better than the transit custom. Was a bit shocked by the trade in value
@@Sam_Hannam transit custom is weak, makes no power under 2k revs and has ridiculously long 1st and 2nd gear with 3rd being way too far away from 2nd.
Accelerator is also moronic. Makes 80% power with 20% of throttle travel, too trick people into thinking it’s more powerful than it is.
Job 1 remove DPF and Bin it 😉👍

How do you measure blow by over in the UK? Do you use a h20 manometer? Where do you connect it in the engine as well ?

I'm interested in what difference the DPF delete makes as it is very restrictive in the Amarok. The first time it re-gened the heat and smell of burning was so bad that I thought something was wrong but I'm used to it now. Getting the soot level down below 5g seems almost impossible and mine is usually around 20g. I've tried adding chemical (JLM) but I'm not sure that it makes much difference.
Mine usually runs oil temperature at 115 - 120 but crossing the Alps last summer with ambient temp up to 40, not towing, it was running at 135. I had understood from the Australian videos that gearbox temp was more of a problem than engine oil but it sounds as if that might be wrong. Are you measuring gearbox temp with VCDS because I'd like to try that?
Finally, have you disabled the stop/start system and how, because, in the short term, that is my main problem with the truck?
Stop start is gone, easy to code out. Gearbox does not seem to get hot, 60 to 80c. we are looking into the oil situation.

Ross-Tech refuse to get drawn into the matter but others seem to believe that it's not possible on the Amarok PQ25 platform. I've tried all obvious hacks but the damn thing just resets itself on the first re-start. Thanks.
@@richardsutton01 Easiset way is to unplug the battery voltage monitor, 2 pin plug next to the battery!

@@Bazgti250 they can be reinforced, but the chocolate gearboxes were only the ones fitted to petrol's anyway

@@bradmarshall8363 This is diesel tuning we're talking about. They didn't make any cosworth diesels. The engines i'm referring to when asking about tuning is the 1.6tdci they put in the fiestas and the 2.0tdci they put in the new Focus ST. Engines that are actually capable of making more power if a tuning company were to take an interest.
That truck would be awesome with a V8
What about a V12 TDi?
It won‘t regen if you are on the dyno because of the always changing RPM and full load, this shouldn‘t be any problem on the road.
I know this, we have driven in it normally bon the road and no luck!
Does my stock Amarok also have a hidden launch control or do I need to plug her in first?
Try it, traction off, Offroad mode, sport. Hard on the brakes, full throttle!
@@DarksideDevelopments I will do when I'm let at her. One thing I will say is that I'm glad we have a tab at a local fuel company as a full tank does about 190 miles at times. Pulls like a train at least and is shockingly flat on corners for the size

I’ve a MAN TGE 180 4x4 (same as a crafter) it’s 2.0 twin turbo. What are my options power wise? Also it’s auto and I’m now wondering if launch can be added and the 107 limit removed?

Question regarding back pressure is it better to have as little as pos or do you need some been reading forums an some say yay some say nay what’s your input onit Ryan
Less is always better, turbo's do need a tiny bit to seal as such.

Is your 303awhp or at the crank.
My v6 has 277awhp, exhaust intercooler, dpf delete ,gearbox tune,custom engine tune. The turbo is maxed out.
Will be putting on larger turbo which should give us 300plus awhp 300fwkw which the porsche has.

These are flywheel figures but most dynos read higher. We have a lot of upgrades and can post a powergate to tune yourself!
Ryan P I noticed your 0-100 was higher than the revo tune which does 0-100 in 5.8
Steve Houghton for CRD TECH(mod rok) in Brisbane Australia does the maps.
Jeremy king advanced installations does the slave tuning and dyno stuff.

Also the useless electric trunk hatches all cars come with these days. Utterly useless junk! If I want to use my on hands to close my trunk I will do so and let some slow electric motor do the job like im a goddamn cripple!

I’m sure dark side have abit more then just bets under their belt ,these CR units are designed to be punished sadly it’s only the euro emission bollocks that’s bolted to it (EGR,DPF ) that cause a modern diesel problems ,I remember the good old days before Diesel engines were strangled by emissions you’d get half a million miles before any rebuilds were needed .
We dont agree, the inverse is usually true and gentle use engines use more oil more often than not.
