    I love the implication right there at the end with Soren arriving outside the window, looking in and only seeing Dan, then leaving because he thinks he's in a alternate universe where Dan eats by himself at the diner, lonely and depressed.

    Bizarro Soren has his hair parted like a non-protagonist as they discussed in "6 Insane Stereotypes That You Still See In Every Movie" (which is the earlier video, but RUclips playlists are usually from newest to oldest, which is stupid).

      +Jessica Lee OH! And he doesn't like Dan's impression of Krang (which was actually pretty good). Soren always likes Dan's impressions, especially the terrible ones. Bizarro Soren is secretly terrifying!

      +Drace90 No that's ACTUALLY Soren from a different reality, where hes not Soren, more like an alien. If you watched the end the real Soren popped up in the background. from a worm hole. Meaning some weird shit happened to both sorens somehow..

    • @werlost
      @werlost 10 лет назад +7

      I think that's the basic theme of stories that deal with alternate/parallel universes-that no matter how bad our world is, there's always a place that's worse, even seemingly utopian worlds.

      As long as you avoid the newer 3rd wave feminists, feminism is great. Hell, there are even a few quiet scattered voices in the newer age of feminism that aren't completely fucking awful. See, this is what 3rd wave feminism has done to the feminist movement. It's turned it into a joke. It's like having the KKK side with your argument. No matter how right you were before, your the bad guy now.

    Your interpretation of Narnia is skewed to what the movies presents you. In the books there are explanations for all the things you see in the movies that they don't talk about. Why is there a random English lamppost in the forest? The Ice Witch brought a piece of one FROM EARTH while Aslan was creating Narnia. The Dawn Treader LITERALLY sails to Aslan's land which is as close to Heaven as you can get in that universe until the final book when Narnia actually ends and all the animals and people in it go TO heaven.

    • @featherbird666
      @featherbird666 5 лет назад +11

      Technically when they all died they just went to the REAL Narnia bc the Narnia in which most of the stories take place (the shadowlands) is just a reflection of the ideal version of Narnia which exists. People suffer and die in the shadowlands all the time but real narnia is legit utopia where nothing is bad.

  • @BlueMaxx86

    The ending with Soren reminded me of the episode of Sliders where Quinn actually found his way back home but only had a short window to see if it was home and so he checked the fence door that always creaked. It didn't creak, so he left. But then his mother comes out and thanks some repair guy for oiling it. It's like Soren saw Dan alone and figured this isn't the right dimension.

  • @Aramis419
    @Aramis419 10 лет назад +7

    You know, the end when Dan is sitting alone talking to himself supports the hypothesis that everyone else are just figments of his imagination, as mentioned in a previous episode.

      cgjthoma that depends, i mean at the same time that to many episodes might make it stale, a few "extended" episodes would be nice, like a continuation on that month's episode. like seriously, i could nerd juice all over an extra 2-5 minute episode of deleted scenes, mistakes, or even rants going more into a point each month.

    Best alternate universe to live in would have to be the Digital World in Digimon. You get your own digital partner who might be a magical animal, or a robot, or human-like, or a freak dragon and they have all these awesome powers. Plus you have this entire world to live in with every possible type of climate you could want to relax in: beaches, forests, deserts, mountains, cities, villages, literal-freaking-toylands.
    Yes, there are some bad digimon and the occasional Big Bad that tries to take over, but then you get to battle evil with your digimon and all from the safety of a PG-rated cartoon!
    Narnia be damned, I've made my choice.

    I was waiting for Narnia... but it doesn't stop at just that. Narnia is one of a supposedly infinite amount of dimensions. In the first book, The Magician's Nephew, the two protagonists find themselves in a "wood between worlds," which is basically, a calm glade of trees and grass and perfectly identical shallow ponds as far as the eye can see. Each pool is a portal to a dimension. I would give anything to spend my days exploring as many pools as I could.

    Family Guy, Season 8 Episode 1: Road to the Multiverse.
    Brian and Stewie travel to several alternate dimensions, one of which is a world where Christianity never existed, so "the Dark Ages of scientific repression" never happened, so humanity is 1000 years more advanced. The sidewalks move, the bullet trains are REALLY fast, everyone's super hot, and you never have to poop. If you're Christian, you can bring a Bible or whatever and try to convert them.

    Yeah, but if you read the books, Narnia is destroyed by Aslan himself because of a monkey and a donkey, and all the kids die, except the older girl that doesn't believe in it anymore. Narnia turns to hell in the end. So... live with what you got until you die, that's the point.

    • @DrunkenCokeHead421

      spoiler alert

    • @2thinkcritically
      @2thinkcritically 10 лет назад +19

      Well that depends really, since the Narnia that gets destroyed isn't the real Narnia but rather a copy of it. Aslan's Narnia is eternal and in it you find all of his faithful servants, even the dead ones. Oh, that Christian symbolism!

    • @benlowe1701
      @benlowe1701 10 лет назад +20

      Not quite.... The World ends, because every world ends. All things come to dust - and the same is true whatever reality you believe in...
      The whole point is that Narnia is a world like Charn - the Witch's home-world, which is slowly dying, like any other. Like every other world, Narnia eventually succumbs to destruction, when a plot by an Ape to ally with Calorma, (Spelling?) and conquer Narnia, backfires miserably, by summoning the Calorman God, Tash.
      But the whole point, is that Narnia never totally falls. The clock winds down and time runs out, moments before Narnia would be completley destroyed. The world dies naturally, before evil triumphs.
      Not to mention the Heaven Sequence at the End had cameos from all of the great characters, including the Great Giant That Destroys The Sun, which was witnessed in its eternal sleep during "Silver Chair".
      Free fact of the Day:
      In fact, for all of his religious symbolism, Lewis came under fire by the Christian right of his time, for suggesting that, concerning the other races of Narnia all of the honourable good deeds done by those who worshipped "Tash" (their version of the devil) where accepted by Aslan as if they had been done in his name, were enough to entitle the righteous Worshippers-Of-Tash to their eternal life in his country.
      Yes. That's right. CS Lewis suggested that doing the right thing, and doing your best was more important than quibbling over which variation or denomination was important. And he got Hate for it.

      *****
      Not much. For example -- the 1st movie is based on the second book. The first book explores and explains how the wardrobe was made, the origins of the Witch and her dead world and how the grandpa of the kids met her. Also they skipped the 3rd book ,that isnt about the kids and is about a boy living entirely in Narnia, being born there. The book follows his adventures during the kids reign in Narnia, after the events of the second book.

    Daniel forgot to mention that you can actually go to heaven when you die in Narnia, and heaven in that world is a flawless, physically limitless version of Narnia. Plus, if he wanted to go after Aslan destroyed Narnia, he could just go straight to the heaven version. Unless, of course, he was sent to hell instead - that would probably suck.

      Cynical Cthulhu I have read the books. It's not a bad place, just strange. But as far as imaginary worlds go it's one of the safest if you know what to expect.

    • @moralityisnotsubjective5
      @moralityisnotsubjective5 9 лет назад +2

      JB Entertainingness You might want to avoid the sorceress that likes to steal the heads of pretty women and the witch that will enchant your axe to cut you into pieces though. And who typically goes into a fantasy world knowing what to expect I wonder?

    • @jacksquatjb
      @jacksquatjb 9 лет назад +3

      Cynical Cthulhu Well I'm not a woman so I can be safe from the Sorceress and I'm not a woodsman at the moment, nor do I intend on falling in love with a munchkin woman whose father will have a witch enchant my ax to cut me up. I also know well enough not to startle the puzzle people (tho I would of course reassemble them if I did) and to steer clear of Utensia.
      Honestly besides the odd sorceress hear and there the only things which scare me are the Kalidahs, but I don't plan on wandering the dark forests of Munchkinland. I could always get myself a clockwork man to protect me, but if I had to run into any Nomes I know well enough to poison them with eggs. I also shouldn't have an issue staying away from the Deadly Desert.
      But despite these dangerous issues, Oz is a weird place. People don't get killed unless you are evil or actively think you can be killed. But generally speaking it should be quite lovely.
      And I know I wouldn't have prior knowledge, but then even asking the question of which imaginary land to spend my days would imply I would know about it.
      =D

    I thought you couldn't enter Narnia unless you were a little kid. If you get too old the portals to Narnia don't let you go there anymore. If you fulfil your mission in Narnia and return to this world, your age reverts back to when you entered but you can't go back the way you came. That's disappointing, because if the portals did work after you did what you were there to do, you could let yourself age as far as you wanted and then just hop back and forth, regaining your youth each time and achieving immortality! This world we know serves only to sustain our everlasting lives in Narnia!
    Heh…Bizarro Soren.

    • @Sam-sr9zq

      I just thought of something horrifying! When you go to Narnia, this world essentially gets put on hold so you can go on adventures, and when you return life goes on from where you left off. In the Narnia universe, this world is basically a video game. And the more you play the video game, the more time you lose in Narnia!

    • @simonlamoureux5440
      @simonlamoureux5440 10 лет назад +2

      Sam Tennet Time does still go in the real world when they are in Narnia. just with no rhyme or reason.. A moment in Narnia can feel like 3 weeks in the world or a lifetime in Narnia can be an hour in the real world. Yeah its insane. And you can go to Narnia as an adult, you just have to believe but it exempts some people even though they believe at the moment and will always believe, I think its a bit of a plot hole like the timelines. they best Aslan could explain to the kids (in later books) is that the world/times arent always aligned and their Time Value`` changes. Also you can make it To Narnia by believing in it as you die apperently. in the final book EVERYONE in Narnia dies. and the kids in the real world die on a Train crash which is how they get transported to Narnia for that last adventure which is only in book form so far.

      JamesCPotter13 I haven't had the chance to read the manga, so I only know the story from the two SACs and the movies. Either way, the point was the multidimensional travel being proposed in media, so if Power Rangers was able to touch on such a topic, you'd have to go with the dimension itself that they travel to.

    I think I just realized that this episode very subtly plugs "Antiheroes"

    1:20 - The nod to the waitress followed by the feathers got me good. Was _not_ expecting that. ahaha

    Thank goodness this is just a video. I don't think Dan would be coming back to the diner if he was really talking to himself like he was at the end.
    Also, I know it's semi-obscure, but what about Sliders? The mid-to-late 90's sci-fi show that was literally about traveling to other dimensions?
