I've always wanted the Clone Wars to go deeper into these battles. Like sure if they don't want to show random clone units, fine, show us cases of Anakin and the 501st just going out to a planet, and spending some time there before moving on to the next. Bad Batch really could've revolved around the Republic/Imperial Era of warfare. Should've called it "Rise of the Empire" or something, and show the Reconquest of the Outer-Rim, the "Second Round" of the Clone Wars after the Empire was formed, albeit we don't get Jedi, perhaps the occasional Inquisitor showing up later on to lead some of the troops where Jedi are involved.
@@DarthDread-oh2neWhat would you have them name it? The clone wars show is the best piece of starwars apart from the first 6 movies. Hell some of the arcs in TCW are better than most the movies.
Good question is why in the Second Battle of Geonosis the Republic still didn't use fighters to defend the LAAT or get air supremacy before the landing started.
That's basically what they did. Which is WHY we barely see ANY CIS air power in that battle. An not hardly at all helping their apparently under ridiculous attack Droid forces on the main field. They just didn't have it
What does not make sense to me is why the Republic did not activate Kamino's planetary shield after all Starfighters that were to join the battle had left. I suppose it had one given how important Kamino was for the Republic and those pieces of debris could have done serious damage had they fallen on any of the Kaminoan cities.
@@TbV-st8ef I know that. I was referring to how important such a city was when it comes to international politics, economy and geopolitics, which was before Turkey was proclaimed and before Constantinople became Istanbul.
I would shit my pants too if my scapegoat that I severely crippled to make sure it didn't win suddenly won the most important battle to turn around the war
Way I see it, Dooku may have panicked, but the Emperor just needed the clones to pull off 66, he didn’t need the republic to win. The Jedi are his major concern, it wouldn’t be that hard for him as the chancellor to just pull Anakin away and do 66 shortly after, claiming it was Dooku’s doing. Then he would use the fear to convince the senate to give him his supreme power, force the separatists into a deal (or just have Anakin do what he does best) and boom, he’s got a galactic empire that’s not all that different to the one he got in the end. It’s never fully revealed how long the plan was in the works, but Plagius had been working on it for decades, and it’s even possible that it goes back further. So that level of flexibility and responsiveness would not shock me!
Wait you did a ground battle analysis of the Second Battle of Kamino? When? I don't remember that video and I love the second Battle of Kamino. With the exception of the season 5 premiere, which wasn't even supposed to be the Darth Maul episode as that was meant to be episode 13 which is fixed on the DVDs but the higher-ups did it anyways because of how season 4 ended, the two-parter season 3 premier was the best Clone Wars season opening ever. Also, if you're looking for more battles to discuss, there are plenty of blink-and-you-miss-them ones from the montages in Chapter 22 of the 2003 Clone Wars Micro-series, or there are some great battles from the Outer Rim Sieges you've yet to discuss like the Battle of New Plympto or the Battle of Murkhana, there's also the Battles of Mon Cala that took place during the Clone Wars, or the Battle of Dathomir where it was Nightsisters vs Grievous, and as much as I love the Clone Wars there are other battles from other eras that could be fun to look at too, like the Battle of Hoth or when the Empire invaded Kashyyyk in 19 BBY shortly after the Clone Wars to get those 8 Jedi that had teamed up with the Wookies. There are a lot of great battles to choose from, a lot from the Clone Wars, but some from other eras too.
Apparently Grevious read about the Legend of The Odyssey.. an then treated Kamino like it was Troy. Too bad the Jedi an GAR apparently didn't trust "Greeks" in this one.
Just another story that deepens my love for the clones. Been into 40k much heavier over the past couple of years because of Disney but was just thinking about it earlier today and instantly told myself that regardless we still have Star Wars legends which as a mandalorian and clone fan will always mean Star Wars is my main universe. Remember watching attack of the clones in 2002 which had my young self jumping head first into Star Wars and the clones cemented that. Though can’t lie, I was definitely rooting for Jango in his duel/fight with Obi-wan in our first trip to Kamino. Thank you my friend for keeping this spirit alive and going!
I don't think the CIS had the ability to win the 2nd battle. Grievous' flagship sat back the entire time while the Munificents just gave the republic a huge advantage.
This is a side of the Clone Wars we should had seen. If Disney had tapped into this universe and steer away from Filoni'a childish approach, this conflict would had been more dark.
@@merafirewing6591 I don’t think that’s true. All I know is that both he and George Lucas worked on TCW together, but the idea that Filoni only did ten episodes doesn’t feel right to me.
Lessons to be learned: - When in doubt as a Sepper, never play the peacemongering hero during the start of a manipulative war. - Hyperspace rings deserve to be rendered obsolete; the future existence of craft succeeding the Jedi Aethersprites, like the A-Wings and TIE Predators, prove that point. - If one retcons the "first battle" away from the continuity and replaced it with a different take on the battle involving squid transport droids and some decrepit clone martyr, then you're a bastard.
Yeah, makes sense. Always slays me when I hear "we are keepers of the peace, not soldiers", and I'm like... bro, you're a GENERAL in the Grand ARMY of the Republic. Long time viewer, I love your work!! I think your channel could really pop off on this side of RUclips if you shortened the titles to the videos cause this content is too good for the views you have been getting.
Its a very different situation politically because the republic isnt like a nation in this World but more like a huge federation, like EU or so, it has won the war against the Seperatists and the Trade Federation behind it, at least more or less, but it was still very unstable so the ruling class need to have a more restrictive government, the fascist dictatorship the empire was, to regain order in the galaxis
tbh clone pilots and ships where kina useless, since most cis/droid ones dint need pilots.. if you think about it any droid fighter could just kamikaze into bridges of capital ships like the rebel did in ep6, they even had those small boarding ships that where kinda shaped like a drill bit, add a pod racer engine on it and it could just fly trough a shielded ship...
Respect to the clone who helped anakin keep the fett d.n.a. out of ventresse's hands.
