    Nicely done. My Mom used tosino in the beans cooking in the 70's with Vitaroz.

    I put some carrots, 1 potatoe, and like 3 pieces of calabaza . Alcaparradas 3 with a touch of the juice , sofrito, sazon a piece of meat instead of bacon, about 1 teaspoon and a half of tomatoe paste ans cant forget the recao mano, some call it culantro I can not cook beans with out that or carrots it gives it the perfect balance. Heavenn. I dont like oregano oh and a pinch of garlic powder its a must. Quedoo I ate my food so fast hahah I was suprised the burst of flavors. I hope it keeps coming out that good. I like to play with the recipe to see which way best suits my taste. You can also put in the beans sweet plantains. There are different ways of doing it.

    How long do you cook beans

    • @mariscookingpr
      @mariscookingpr  9 месяцев назад

      Not too long, to be honest! About 20min. Once it boils, I lower it to low-ish, and just let it simmer for a while.

    Why don’t you use the water from the can of beans? Thx!

    • @mariscookingpr
      @mariscookingpr  5 месяцев назад

      Personally, I don’t like to use it because the thick consistency kinda grosses me out lol! But that’s totally a personal preference. You totally can use it.
