Wow! And yet somebody in my family who is a doctor told me to give my kids more carbs and sweets claiming children need sugar to have energy. They fed me a lot of sugars and chocolates and my eyesight is bad. I got astigmatism and short sightedness.

I always hated cereals. Eggs and meat have been my breakfast for decades. Both my parents had cataracts and my dad had terrible glaucoma despite eating "healthy". Maybe this explains why at age 55 I use no eyeglasses and seem to have no eye issues.

The benefits of eating an optimal diet. Hope more people start realising how important meat and animal products are.

I remember specifically as a child, I'd wonder why I felt so hungry an hour or two after breakfast, which obviously consisted of cereal like captain crunch. Decades later, I do it much smarter now. I still need classes though for astigmatism.

I make smoothies at home with fruits and veggies, tofu, unsweetened almond milk, unsweetened/plain yogurt, flaxseed, fiber powder and protein powder. On the weekends it's eggs and avocados. Yum!

That is so close to whole food-plant based, which is my food program. I eat different dishes, though.

I'm surprised one of the worst, if not the worst, offender wasn't even listed: seed oils. These are the most inflammatory and oxidative "foods" one can eat. The processing is akin to crude oil treatment and leaves the resulting oil mostly, or entirely, oxidised, unless you get cold-pressed, which will still be susceptible to oxidation due to the unstable nature of the fatty acids derived from seeds. The oils in the seeds are protected due to their coating but it isn't the case when broken. These oxidised fatty acids can be assimilated into cell membranes, hormones, adipocytes, etc; therefore, it can affect every organ, even the brain. Also, the phytosterols inside the oils can have a negative impact on the body, mimicking cholesterol often. Paul Mason has been my main source for this information, and I do suggest looking up his talks on seed oils. Incredibly informative.

Oat Flakes with some linseed and sunflower seeds and milk are great for breakfast, no sugar needed. Sometimes I add a spoonful of raisins or cranberries.

Old Fashioned Organic Rolled Oats from Whole Foods. All other oatmeal is laden with glyphosate (Round Up.) Add ground flaxseed , whole chia seed, sliced apple, walnuts and banana while cooking the oatmeal. Sprinkle hemp seeds on top.

Healthy! I'm whole food-plant based but don't eat traditional breakfast. I can eat whole wheat pasta with black beans, whole wheat bread, but also kale, carrots and bananas. Some peanut butter and sometimes almonds or chia seeds. I have oatmeal but don't usually eat it.

This is very good! I gave up traditional breakfasts when I started whole food-plant based. On this diet I did it to lower my cholesterol which was 210 mg/dl (>200 being high). It dropped to 120 mg/dl, in the truly ideal range. Other benefits happened: 50 lb weight loss, blood pressure came down, and high resting heart rate became normal, off medication for it. 7 years now still on the diet. It's Starch Solution. I love the meals how they evolved.
My latest is eating carrots with a little peanut butter for taste. Yum!

Hi Dr! Thanks for your videos. Curcumin the active ingredient from the Indian spice TURMERIC in my newly updated supplement Curcumin Triple Burn seems to be helping my dry eyes and puffiness. Do you know about Curcumin? Thanks. Melville from sunny Malaysia

I think my eyes are good, what about yours? Presenting a pink grapefruit as... figs you said? My hearing isn't the best. I don't think any such pink citrus fruit raises blood sugar that badly.
Besides, the hens of entire world cannot produce enough eggs for every person on the planet to have just one per day, each day, or every second or third day. Any more alternatives? Also avocadoes here are often a hit or miss, sometimes already brown inside when buying, otherwise waiting for days or even weeks for them to ripen. Too few alternatives for those we shouldn't have.

A cup of blueberries each day will mitigate your blood sugar for the entire day. Most berries are very healthy.
