@@SourDiesel69 Oh I don't expect it to ever "replace" DJing because it's not. It's live performance. DJs have their use... but it's nice to see people are trying new things that aren't really new to begin with. Drum machines have been around for a long time. It just seems like everyone is a DJ or wants to be a DJ for some odd stupid reason. Building a track live or anything like this is just more involved. Most people don't care how you play music... as long as it's good music.
yeah, we can express our feelings in the guts and reproduce the audio-picture in our heads much better by creating the own sounds instead of using pre-built, limited to two channels, products as used by djs. wlecomewelcome
ionmatika not the same AT ALL! 😉 HE don’t mix, he create... that’s nice to see how it’s now so easy for ppl to say anything just to be the false « star of the day »
This takes far more skill than DJing - it's like live composition with some pre-sequenced patterns and sounds. I could watch and listen to people such as this all day, but DJing I could not care less - getting paid tens of thousands of dollars to play other peoples music with a few tweaks and beat matching? no way. I hope people like this become the new electronic superstars.
Thanks for your kind words! I believe that really good DJing is an art craft on itself. But personally I also prefer listening to livesets when I am going somewhere (fun thing to say in winter 20/21).
Techno always has that edge and analog soundscape. It never dies. This is pure techno. How some refer to this as EDM is a fucking insult. Techno is electronic dance music, but it definitely isn’t EDM. Great live stuff!

I love that you're using a Mackie to accommodate your needs. It just makes sense, and I don't know why more hardware performers don't go this route. Good stuff, man. Keep up the good work.

I know im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a way to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost my account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Charlie Alec thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
This is truly amazing!! Very inspiring for me as someone who is starting out doing techno live sets. I have one question: which machine is producing those huge sub basses? I tried doing this on the Analog Rytm back when I owned one but I couldn't get them to sound right.
I'd like to hear how you do this too Martin, as its something I struggle to get right. I'm guessing its made on the Analog4 and sampled into the Digitakt?
Thank you! I am using diffenrent techniques for the subbasses. The easiest way is to use the same sample as you have for the kick drum. Then change the starting point of attack phase of the envelope, close the LP filter and add reverb. With parameter locks the Elektron sequencers can add rhythmic variations to the reverb tail to get the typical "rumbling" sound. Another way is a single-cycle waveform (sinewave or a wavefolded shape). with LFO changing the pitch.
Martin Stürtzer thank you for the detailed answer! I sometimes use a similar technique in Ableton when producing, very interesting to do it on a machine like the Digitakt or Analog Four. Might have to get a Digitakt soon.. 😁
I love how this is now becoming the norm and we are all veering away from being DJs
ionmatika it’ll never replace DJing but far more people are interested in live techno
@@SourDiesel69 Because its unpredictable and fucking awesome :D

Dancing at work... Finally someone who's actually rocking the beat instead of just talking for an hour about what the equipment can do...
One of my favorite channels I return daily during deep works, edits, and dropshipping… Loving the detail and method!!! 😊
This is so freaking good! How comes your channel was hiding from me all this time? Amazing liveset! Listening the 3rd time already.
asking myself same question ... this guy is incredible .. huge amount of fantastic music ...

homie getting turned on by a run of the mill mixer that is easily available at any major music gear retailer.....
@pete as opposed to a traditional DJ mixer?
