The cool thing about country music is that it's equally fun to play as it is listenable. Some guitar stuff that is super fun to noodle around is sometimes not as appealing to the listener.
Love seeing both of you make content together, two of my favorite RUclips guitar players. The lesson was incredible but the biggest piece of wisdom I’m taking away is, “if something is hard you should rethink it because there’s probably an easier way” 😂 truly sage wisdom
I don't care for country in general but country guitar playing is very pleasing. Now some Texas country swing - that I can get into. Very cool video - always cool to learn something new.
The best one will always be the old school Billy Zoom from X one, where your pinky holds down the high E and B, on the 8th fret and bend the g string up

Wow. Really informative and technical. Reminds me how bad I suck at guitar, though. It’s fun to see really talented players chat about their process and approach.
Right? Just the fact that Guthrie can know every note of every chord and which degree of the scale it is, and what to do with it, literally anywhere on the fretboard without even thinking. I can't comprehend being able to do that, and I know it's a million hours of practice, but still. My old HS friend is a guitar teacher in Nashville is Guthrie-like, a prodigy who was touring and opening for Motorhead as a junior in HS. But he wouldn't leave the house as a kid....his dad told me that on a school night, by boy would be sitting at the dinner table playing...dad would go to bed at midnight and when he woke up at 7am, my friend was still at the table playing, never having stopped. I guess some people just have that burning fire in them.
Hey Marty Swartz, can you make an acoustic guitar tutorial on the popular Bee Gee’s song Nights On Broadway? It seems like every Nights On Broadway tutorial that has been posted on RUclips is crappy. No one seems to be able to play this song let alone teach someone how to play it.
Marty well you make a video where you teach how to play Slipknot Psychosocial? I was asking a same question yesterday but you did not answer it,so could you answer it please?
I usually hate country music, at least most of the stuff they play on the radio, because it's lazy, generic music; but I have to admit, those major pentatonic licks are nice.

this bend is also used in rock a lot, you can strum it, arpeggiate it etc, such a classic

I spent a year trying to get better at country licks and it’s like nearly impossible because there isn’t a lot of stuff on here about it.
