Great video, Gary, good to see that cross platform sharing is supported. There are so many choices for a calendar these days. But calendar only gives an option for two notifications per calendar event, Google gives 4+ which I find really important for major appointments.
You can add many alerts per calendar event using iCloud calendars on your Mac, not just two. I don't know what the limit is, but I just just tried and got to 14. So that many or more.
@@macmost Wow! Thank you so much for checking, Gary. That is really going to make a difference to my use of Calendar over Google calendar. I appreciate your thoroughness on confirming so many alerts.. Please keep up the great work.
My mac doesn't even show the little person in the circle icon when I run my cursor over the calendar I just made. I've tried 100 different ways of sharing this calendar and it just doesn't work.
Hi Gary - thanks for this info, but i noticed that the public calendar will be read-only for others. What is the best way to setup a calendar so that myself and others can enter/edit data on it, such as a family calendar? thx
I have this question too! We have a family calendar that we want all family members to add their events on so we can plan accordingly. Some family members have a PC and use Outlook.
I have several calendars in Apple Calendar app. Some are Outlook and some are Gmail. I want to share my outlook calendar from company 1 via the apple app to company 2 outlook calendar. Can I integrate all of my calendars to iCloud calendar and then share my iCloud calendar to the people that I want.
Hey Gary, is there a way for someone to send out individual events or reoccurring events to someone or a group of people through the Calander that will also send you an email or message. I know websites that will send out scheduling invites that as the person to confirm if they are available or not. Does apple have this feature? I find it much more helpful when I send a calendar invitation to my mother rather than a text with the dates for her appointments, so they automatically appear in the calendar.
Are the public calendar only visible to people who I share the link with as a subscription or is the public calendar on some list of public calendars somewhere available to anyone?
There is no automatic list anywhere. I suppose someone who knows about the calendar could share it to wherever they want, but I don't know why they would do it. If you have to keep info private, don't make it public.
every time i create a new calendar is just makes a new on my mac calendar. can't figure out for the life of me how to create an icloud calenar from the calendar app on mac. my icloud is logged in and calendar sync in turned on. very weird.
I never really cared about sharing calendars, but after watching your video, I can see how useful it can be. Thanks Gary! 👍
A very useful video tutorial today. Thanks for showing us how. Thank you, Gary! 👍🏻👏❤️
Helped me to sync my schedules into my agency platform's calendar. Thanks a lot!

Mine doesn’t either
Thanks!
Knew that, but you told in detail, great, thanks
Hi Gary! Which apple watch do u prefer?? Cellular or GPS. what are the pro's n con's of cellular version??
Just what I was looking for, thanks very much.
Great info as always Gary! Do you see Apple adding a collaborative calendar option at any time? Maybe with Monterey?
Thanks Gary! You rock!
Can you make an iCal link with an iPhone or iPad, or is this only possible with a Mac?
Do you mean share a calendar? Or export an event? What are you trying to DO, exactly?
This was fantastic!
Hello, is it possible to add an IMAP account to Mac’s Calendar app? I
Yes.
Is there any way to let another person edit the calender?
Share it. Select the calendar on the left and share it with other people, giving them permission to add and edit.
@@macmost thank you so much. Such a quick answer too thank you

You have to put the calendars where the other people can access them. If they don't use iCloud, then you'll need to use one of those others.

Yes. Go into the event information and add "Invitees."

Can you have a public calendar but others can only add to it but not remove or change anything.
I don't think you can do that level of detail.
great tip

Go to File, New Calendar and there should be two choices. Just select the iCloud choice.
I am on Catalina 10.15.7 and that does not work. Is this a feature of the newest OS?
No, this has been around for a long while.
@@macmost Thanks for the quick reply. It looks quite different though as in your video. Thanks again.
Really handy...😉
Liked it 👌👏
My only gripe about Apple Calendar is that there isn’t a “duplicate” feature like there is in Google Calendar.
In Big Sur (or later?), you can Control-Click (or Right-Click) and Duplicate /OR/ Select, Copy, then Paste (onto the day you wish) to get a Duplicate
@@GreenBake You’re right. I meant to say iOS or iPadOS. At least I’m not aware of a way to do it.
Amazing! G Money in the House 💯⚡️👏🏻🎊🎉💻⚡️💯
Very useful - thanks
