Yes! I have to get one. I use my original arkfeld everyday and the only thing I wish I could do is laser and light at the same time for the exact reason you gave an example of. Above the ceiling trying to point something out but it's too dark. I even wrote an email to olight. This is awesome!
Thank you sir. It’s because of people like you that clamored for a feature that now exists. 👍
702 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Coming soon- Arkfeld Ultra Elite with light, UV, laser, taser, and patriot missile.
I’m listening….
The Patriot guidance system is proprietary though. so YMMV. XD
But so still warm white.
@@brokenlegz no Anduril2, or pizzamaker either...just not their thing.
Will it also do my taxes for me? 😁🙏
Out of 20 videos this one was the only one that truly broke down all the different light modes (yes, all 9 of them).
THANK YOU!!
First time viewer. The dual angle (aerial and ground, starting at 19:06) shot is genius 👌
Welcome to the channel!
I've been waiting for this video since I saw the release.
I was 99% sure I was going to buy this before the video and now it's 100%
That made me lol.
Great shot comparison. I’ve never seen aerial shots, well done.
Yeah that's a clear step above other flashlight nerds man, way to elevate
7:42 you forgot to mention that triple click is strobe and its FAST. I've been EDCing mine for a week and a half and it's fantastic. The size does not bother me when it's in my pocket.
You’re right!
Mines flipped…Double click is strobe and Triple click is brightest 🤷♂️
I am so glad they finally have the laser one with the reversible clip, so you have the option to put it on your hat. I would use it with only the light on my hat, but this way I can point out something with the laser pointer, in a building and then if I am working on something, I can slip it on my hat. The magnet, like you said is nice to stick on something. I barely would use the UV but it's still awesome to have. I am glad I waited to get this light.
Great review and comparison! I appreciate the in depth analysis!
I bought one today! I held off on the 1st gen, because I wanted the laser and UV. Now, I get both!
Excellent, flashlight and laser at same time is what I've been looking for. Great review, thanks 👍
Learned something new today.... I learned what a "flappydoodle" is. I never knew.
Just ordered the pro in orange earlier today. Been after one for a while and picked it up in the black friday deals.
Fantastic. I’ve been looking for my Arkfeld for like a month so I guess I’ve got a reason to buy this one.
Man, I really love your videos! I appreciate you breaking down every little consideration to make things clear. I’ve been waiting for this light for a couple years or however long it’s been since the original arkfeld was released which didn’t have the proper clip that I could use on my hat brim so it did not work for me. And then the uv light did not have the laser pointer I needed for my job as a contractor. So now… finally it’s here! I do still wish olight would release more color options with the neutral white or at the very least offer us just one bundle package on the sale with a neutral white. Currently all of the bundle packages only have CW which I think just isn’t fair to us neutral lovers 😄👊 Like, am I being punished for not wanting cool white light? Lol
Also, another note is that you were pointing out that you wish the pro were less Floody and more concentrated but honestly as a trades person I can tell you that more floody is absolutely more useful for every day work tasks. At least in my opinion.
Close up work definitely benefits from a more floody beam!
Excellent review as always! I'm gonna love the pro but it would have been perfect if it had the larger tir optic like the Gen 1 especially with the extra lumens I know they needed the room but for something that important i wouldn't mind if it was thicker or wider if it meant getting the proper optic in there but the lazer uv extra battery life and the zombie green makes it all worth it and the sale price lol . I'm definitely not looking for high cri with a light like this everything you say is always spot on no bashing and not bias awsome video!!
Now I need one with red light, less intrusive to bugs and animals when I go out at night.
I have a just under a month old UV. It's going back to Amazon and grabbing the pro. Good review.
Literally what I'm doing except I'm going to flip my UV because I got it on a flash sale and can make some money on it. Just ordered the zombie green.
This is a great evolution of an interesting, jack-of-all-trades Swiss Army Light...
I just might find room for this little toy of a light!
I don't use any of the chip clips i just take them off and depending if they need to screw the screws back in and trim them if i need to
This is definitely one of the best lights Olight has ever made.
you're the best reviewer on the youtubes, thank you!!!#
That's quite a compliment; thank you!
Thanks so much, I too have both of the first ones and was on the fence about the new one, but you did a great job and I’m on my way to the third one. Thanks !
OK I’m pretty impressed but I still haven’t seen if this does momentary push on and off, I don’t want to go through cycles on flashlight settings to be able to get some thing
I want simple momentary on and off for a lot of what I do so can this flashlight do that
I'm so happy you brought up the first gen optic It's much better than the uv model I'm still buying the arkfeld pro hoping the extra lumens makes up for it a little but I really wish they some how used the first Gen optic I can't stand the light on my uv arkfeld very glad u brought that up cause most people have no idea and trying to explain it to them hurts my brain. In the end the pro is cool cause it's got all 3 and battery upgrade and it comes in zombie green but I won't be getting rid of my first Gen.
I work in technical theater. I've been looking for this instrument for years -- I bought two. What it needs: a way to lock it OFF while it's in my pocket.
Press and hold from off, keep holding until light goes on and off again. Now you’re locked out.
Great review. I've got the zombie version but now I want neutral white too. These lights are so useful and carry easily.
Is there any strobe? Looks pretty sweet might have to pick one up. Thanks for the review
Triple click
I have been on the fence for a while. I bought a Warrior 3 but I find the texture too harsh for pocket use when I am in and out of my pocket all day. This should fit in my shirt pocket and will be great for searching prison cells the UV has me interested, I wonder if I will be able to see drugs like fentanyl or meth that have been real issues lately. I wonder if it will help see the powder traces on their metal desks.
Can you take the clip off on the pro? Iv never really liked haveing a clip on my flash lights.
Just picked one up on their Halloween sale with the orb light thing for 90$!
How do you feel about this Olite vs the Nitecore EDC27?
What's the IR spill on the laser?
Now make a pro plus with laser, uv, flood and throw emitters olight
I've been on the fence because I knew I wouldn't be able to decide between a laser or UV. Now that I don't have to I'm going to pick one up.
This is exactly how I feel.
I picked up one during the halloween sale. Love the light but not a fan of the non replaceable battery
Awesome review!!! I own several Olight lights, and I think I need an Arkfeld Pro. So: Cool White or Neutral??!!!
Most of my others are black. But; that Orange is sweet! Looks like that one is only available in Cool white.
What's the purpose of a UV light on a flashlight?
I'm coming over for this one. I want it.
Thought mine was damaged because the lens was pushed slightly in at the bottom. Appears to be a design change. Haven't seen any other RUclips reviewer mention this.
Nice work, Cheule...exactly all the info I needed to make a decision.....although I'm embarrassed to admit that if I snag one, it will be my FIFTH Arkfeld! 🤔🤣 One of them is copper, and it is a freakin' TANK.
I know the battery is officially non-replaceable, but do you know of anyone who has attempted it anyway?
we definitely need a teardown video
I made a half hearted attempt to open one once, and it wasn’t easy to get in, so I gave up.
@@cheule early access Zombie bundle with the Warrior Nano just might be my "FTW"
can someone recommend another "CHEAPER" Chinese alternative or Chinese copy of this Chinese UV-Laser hybrid olight?
I wonder how good the UV would be on the beach. I wish o could have UV but still have cool and warm beam options not sure which one ide fet amd im hella OCD, i hate that, working on it... preferences can be a prison, i a a flashaholic though pretty bad and i like that
11 years from now a Martian kid is saying, “Dad I just saw a green ufo streak across the sky.”
Can you imagine?
@@cheule by the way I picked up an Arkfeld, Maurader mini, and a Baton 4 with the charger on the BlackFriday sale. I am looking forward to trying them out.
Would that laser be strong enough to work on tree limbs 30+ feet up during the daytime?
In shade, yes. Direct sunlight, unlikely.
Will peopt actually buy yooperlites?
Do you know for a fact if the uv will detect pet urine? I need urine detection for cleaning purposes. You could test for me please? 😅 if it does I will purchase.
They should make a thrower version with red and green laser
separate comment for unrelated question here
Is there a reason you dont turn off auto-focus for outside shots, and auto-whitebalance for indoor demos? I noticed pretty much every flashlight youtuber doesnt do those things, but I dont know video well enough to know if there is a reason for it, or if it is just too tedious to handle on the fly?
I use manual WB purposely set to 5000k so that you can properly judge CCT and tint. I leave auto focus on the outside shots so that I can hold the lights up in front of the camera, and then refocus on distant objects without touching the camera. Touching it would impart vibrations and I’d have to wait for them to dampen each time.
@@cheule Ah, ok. that makes good sense. thanks
Has OLight sorted out the issue with the issue with metal in your pocket (keys, coins, etc...) touching the charging circle and shorting out? Try it, touch your OLight tail cap with something metal connecting the center to the ring. It will probably create a small spark which is bad enough and it will short out the switch requiring it to be removed and replaced to reset. There is no way I can depend on OLight as an edc or defense light if I have to remove and replace the tail cap to get it to turn on. When they fix that problem with their lights I might buy another one.
Yes, they redesigned the switch. I have attached the tail to stainless steel multiple times with no issue.
@@cheule that would be cool I have my eye on the arkfeld pro. Have you tested it by touching the ring and the center with something like a key or coin? My S1R Baton shorts every time.
Ok..im sold !😊
How do you feel about the size? I think the originals are perfect.
Honestly doesn’t feel much bigger to me.
👍Nice. Now it just needs a replaceable battery 😉👌😊
I'd like to see them do a version with dual leds.
its called a nitecore EDC27. lighter, cheaper more lumens, better battery capacity. way betten ergonomics and buttons. Oled battery screen and the best pocket clip i have ever seen on any equipement. USB C rechargeable.
Needs better colors too. Like an FDE version
@@the_nma5119 It's too bad if you want to use it on high for longer than a few minutes its gets unbelievably hot, and the driver has really weird temperature regulation. Pair that with a button that is way too sensitive causing it to turn on in your pocket and you have a light that could've been awesome.
Its near how it tbe battery charger clicks on, keep this light away from sandblasting areas, be collecting all kinds of debris
Love to have the pro
I just really want one with two LEDs. Not really a use for the laser or UV for me.
Are they worth the money?
Man I would love to own one, but nobody sells them here in New Zealand. Pretty disappointing we only have one stockist in nz, and the one stockist we have only has old stuff.
Sorry to hear that!
The real question would be, how many minutes does it work on High and Turbo, at the loss of making it smaller?
I find Olights published values to be accurate. They’re on the product page: www.olightstore.com/s/J6MTKB
@@cheule Thank you for reply. 😊
I got so excited about this then realised that no amount of features would justify spending more than 20 on a light which I can't swap out the battery. Also it doesn't look like the NW is available in my country yet which really sucks that a nice emitter isn't standard anyway given that this is a premium light.
I am still in that category of not a fan. I can see the appeal for some people but its just not for me. I will be picking up a Javelot Mini
javelot mini is still on my list... it looks very cool. I dont have a use for a laser that weak and a uv without a filter... so its not that interesting to me either.
Now i will admit it is a nice package, having all those 3 things in one light and also in that unique shape
I have a Arkfeld UV that I carry regularly, I do a lot with resin 3d printing so the UV is nice to have. But it's really based on your use case.
The Arkfelds are great as a light to just have on you. Where the Javelot is designed to throw, which it's really good at.
The javelot mini has a super well define beam. I like it a lot.
I don't mind proprietary charging/battery on the Arkfeld, it's a very unusual shape and therefor justified. Just dislike it on normal shaped lights
Wish the charger was usb-C
will that light clear a eprom?
I have no idea!
Love my arkfeld uv it’s perfect edc for a mechanic. Would love the laser but not a fan of the size and no warm white option ☹️ I’m out.
Edit: how did you get neutral white it’s only cool on their website‽
Black color only available in CW and NW on the website
This is the answer.
As a mechanic, what uses do you have for the uv light? Also outside of mechanic uses? I can only think of 2 or 3 uses so I'm interested in other people's experiences
@@WlSD0Mit’s good for seeing oil levels in dark awkward holes in combine headers. Oil glows under uv.
Would be a perfect tool for astronomy if they chose a red led instead of the UV. I have the old Arkfeld and the laser is too weak for pointing out stars.
It’s true, the new version works for Star pointing, the old one did not.
Ooo, red light....Yes please
Been wondering if they’d attempt a 3 in 1. Now that they have I’ll have to get the pro… will give my brother my normal laser/light
Will wait to see if they make a titanium model since the aluminum is a bit too fragile
aluminum fragile? lol
Yes aluminum is fragile.
I just wish it came in OD green.
I never actually liked the Arkfeld. I have better options and it is definately not a Warrior 3s replacement....but this new one...I may get it for the glory of gimmickness. It might be a suit&tie carry that replaces the warrior....hmmm. got me thinking.
I appreciate the olight-clip on there. When clipped inside the pocket, that backwards bend is brilliant for holding a set of keys (like work keys or the shed key when going out there). Note, I dont carry critical keys outside my pocket (a camera can grab your key and it is too easy to replicate these days).
I want now. How'd u get it before release date!! I'm never meant to save money ..
I get pre-release review copies so that I can make videos for you.
I still don’t understand why a red led light isn’t used for reading a map at night or doing anything at night where you don’t want to be blinded and loose your vision . But instead Choose to put a laser or uv that we never need
Is it metal? My only concern is that it is not durable. It looks like it is plastic.
All metal, totally sturdy.
Shit, I don't need it but I want it 😂
Same with the LEP flashlights😊
If they had a version with a body/chassis made out of G10, Carbon Fiber or even Ultem that would be awesome!
p.s. 500 microwatts = .5 milliwatts
Correct about the conversion, it was an on the fly brain fart.
Pro zombie version goes hard
I have both the Original and UV versions. I'll skip this for now. If they shrink it to the same size as the UV, I'll get one. "Arkfeld Pro Mini"?? IMO, Olight magnetic charging is one of the best features.
I understand how you feel, the only thing is that the laser is so much better. As far as the MCC, yes-it’s great. Anyone that complains hasn’t really used it.
Just wish they did the zombie color way with the warmer K values.
Agreed, I love that zombie version.
The reviews are well-thought-out and planned and well executed. I just wish you would do the review in a place where you needed a flashlight? That place is way too bright....
I specifically use an urban environment, because 1) it’s easier to gauge 3D on a 2D screen. See how far the beam is actually going as it spreads.
2) I actually live in a city, and most people do, so I think there are a lot of people that it helps.
Sorry it doesn’t work for you!
So it’s advertised as 0.39mw but puts out 5? That’s crazy
5mW is what I registered on my LPM. The older model Arkfeld was 0.6mW.
Both LASERS need push-hold to only only.
I also hate flappy doodles. They are annoying to use, and I don't trust the IPX rating on them.
I don't understand the hype, especially for edc enthusiasts, I don't want another proprietary cord to carry around. If it was usb c, maybe I'd get one.
👍🍻
yeah the brightness on the original version laser is seriously weak...more of a gimmick than anything truly useful.
Titanium??? Hope so..
I only wish it had a tail button, but overall it looks like a fun option.
Lockout mode is wonderful for that reason. I was super worried about accidental activation but the lockout becomes second nature after a little bit.
@@Bumblesnitch no, for EDC I always want tail cap activation. Not about accidental activation…
@@derek3154 Okay cool, it was about accidental activation for me which is why I mentioned it.
@@Bumblesnitch I ordered the Arkfeld pro and then warrior nano…both seemed like good EDC rotation worthy.
I wanted to see the aerial shot of the lasers and I was so disappointed. 😢
Lasers don’t show well at adjacent angles. It was invisible to the drone. They show extremely well from POV though.
That's fair enough mate. Great video none the less.
1:43 that’s what she said 😏
Ok, you made me look…
Imagine of it had a chamber for live resin vaporization built into it, the light could enhance your mind mood and visibility and perhaps help fight cancer
olight really is like apple. with names like PRO, inflated prices, "premium" products that get slightly better every year, proprietary chargers....
I agree with most of that, but I really disagree that prices are inflated. Sure you should only purchase during their monthly sale, but at those prices I don’t feel they are inflated at all.
@@cheule compared to brands like sofirn, wurkkos, and other Chinese brands that make lights just as high quality but with more features and higher outputs, for around $20-50 instead of $80-120
Son of a Bit** i just bought the UV
D’oh!
Did he just say monstrous😅
... Unlike the seeker 4 Pro which I got and it is my least used flashlight. It's large, heavy, gets super hot and the light beam is average at best. Very disappointed. Man I have smaller less expensive lights that have a better beam.
The Seeker 4 Pro is very floody. Lack of candela limits the “wow factor.” But I’ll point out that swapping a Seeker 4 Pro is always tough precisely because the heat sinking is so great on the light. It’s very hard to desolder the leafs on the MCPCB because it’s so thick and the light’s shelf and heat sinking path is so good.
My only complaint about the Olight Arkfeld Pro it that they have the laser as the 2nd(middle) option and UV light as the 3rd(left) option. So, when the Arkfeld Pro has the flashlight turned on in order to get to the UV light you have to scroll past the laser temporarily turning on the laser as you're scrolling left with the switch to get to the UV light. This may cause you to unknowingly turn on the laser and potentially have the laser reflect off of a surface and hit your eyes, causing eye damage or blandness(Arkfeld Pro has much stronger laser)😢 Olight should have designed the Arkfeld Pro with the UV light as the 2nd(middle) option and Laser as the 3rd(left) option!!! That way, you could access the UV light without having to scroll past the laser and temporarily turning it on👍
I’m glad the UI lines up with where the components are though, it would be confusing otherwise.
At 5mW you aren't going to blind yourself or do considerable damage with a quick flash. When you switch quickly from flashlight to UV, it doesn't activate the laser. You can also turn it off, switch, and turn back on if you're really worried about it.
@Bumblesnitch Olight responded and said that while the Arkfeld Pro flashlight is turned on, you can quick flip the switch from flashlight mode to the UV mode without activating the laser👍
@ThomasConnolly Cool deal, I saw your comment on multiple places so I figured someone had provided that info. Good to hear it was Olight!
Well you shouldn't join clicks anyways😂
I just wish the laser was brighter. Only usable in dim/dark rooms.
The size increase is too much for me. Original size is the main feature.
Until they were side by side I really hadn’t thought it was any bigger. The Pro is so much better at all functions (even the UV) that the others seem instantly outdated.
imagine buying this when a nitecore EDC27 is available...
I have both, will release an EDC27 review this week. I feel they are very different lights. Very.
Although it's a solidly constructed multi-function torch, I think £70/£80 (Amazon) is too much to pay for a 'gadget' torch with a non-removable lithium battery. That alone guarantees obsolescence as soon as the battery fails and it will, long before the torch LEDs and circuitry. Non-replaceable battery powered products are destined to become e-waste heading for landfills, only because of it's dead lithium battery. Manufacturers are creating these disposable products to force consumers into an endless loop of unnecessary recycling of otherwise perfectly good electronics. Non-removable lithium battery powered products are contributing to e-waste mountains, not helping to reduce the global problem.
